Joanns Secret Styles

My mom usually goes to Joann’s for the Japanese straightening and is very happy with the results. My mom has thick hair so this technique works well on her. However, I have much thinner hair so I usually do the keratin treatment instead. I went in for an appointment to do the keratin treatment and got tricked into getting the Japanese treatment. I asked numerous times if it was the keratin treatment and she kept saying yes, once I asked her for the treatment name she kept saying «it’s a Japanese brand» but still insisted its keratin. I have soft waves but my hair is frizzy, I wasn’t trying to get pin straight hair which was ultimately my final result. Finally, after asking many times she told me the name of the product was Liscio (this was after everything was said and done). I came home and after researching online realized that Liscio is in fact Japanese hair straightening which is exactly what i didn’t want. I washed my hair right away and of course my hair was flatter than ever before with no body or bounce to it. I’m just so annoyed that she lied and told me it was a keratin treatment when it clearly wasn’t and she knew it! How can you lie to a customer about the treatment that’s being done? I am so annoyed with this place and I will NEVER go back. I do not recommend this place at all! No wonder its called «secret» styles. SMH!

Joann is the best. She always does a great job, and is literally the only person my mom and I trust with our hair.
