Lobster roll and clam chowder to die for!!! Plus lobster roll was only $ 10. Delicious food for a low price. Hidden gem for sure!

While sit-down food options are very limited in this town, I was pleasantly surprised at the breakfast my husband and I recently had at Nennie’s. It has been a few years since we last ate here, the last visit was just MEH, the service a little off-putting to point where you felt like you were inconveniencing the staff. The owner always looks like she has a scowl on her face and isn’t particularly warm or friendly — which is odd because if you are in the hospitality business you need to at least FAKE it, lol. This time was a bit better, there was only one waitress on this morning and she was busting her butt to take care of all the tables. The service was adequate and attentive. The food was good, the homefries were notably delicious and nicely seasoned. What impressed me the most is that this place offer GLUTENFREEBREAD as an option for toast. I know its a simple thing for restaurants to have on hand nowadays, but most do not. The GF bread appeared to be homemade as well, nice thick slices, none of the commercial bakery junk. This gluten-free gal greatly appreciates and will be back fro breakfast again because of it.

This is one of those great hidden gems. They have a menu like most traditional american dinners. My personal favorite is the Biscuits and Gravy for a whopping $ 4.50. But not to be out done by the true gem. A fruit bowl for only $ 1.00. It is served in a large bowl, consisting of honeydew, cantaloupe, strawberry, blueberries, and pineapple . If you go on the right day you can even catch the chef singing vacant love songs.

Nennie’s is a great spot to grab a quick lunch! Whenever I’m on the road, I always look to Unilocal to help me find places like this, so I was really surprised when I saw that I’d be first to review it! This part of New Hampshire is pretty quiet, and I can imagine the locals heading to Nennie’s for a bite when they need to get out of the house for awhile. The service here was pretty quick, considering that we’d sat down to eat at the height of the lunch rush, and the food was memorably good! I had a Lobster Roll, in season, for $ 10, with a side of sweet potato fries. Just thinking about that sandwich a week later, my mouth is filling with saliva! It was perfect! Not too much mayo, lovely toasty, buttery bun… I miss New England already!!!

When I walked into this place, I was dying to Unilocal it with a vengeance– this is a great example of how irritating it is that I cannot write reviews from my Unilocal phone app. No, not on an android. If you can from an Iphone, I am switching. From a month away the details are hazy but here’s the thing: I normally do not go on and on on Unilocal; this is NOT my blog. I do not want to read a lot of grandiose pontification in the reviews of others and thus, I try to spare you. However, Nennie’s 5 star–(I’m going to go give them five stars right now –I started with 4 b/c I’m snotty) — Nennie’s is ALLLLLLTHAT for the breakfast obsessed among us. You know who you are. I know who I am. The facts: 1) In a strip mall in the midst of WTF am I NH. Economic experts will tell you this means a high probability of great food b/c they are not spending their $ on rent. SEE: 2) The NICEST wait staff ever. Any where. Twelve hung over crunchy party goers crawling in at the end of brunch, all with mammoth hang overs and picky eaters– all got our orders special– and not a single tiny moment of any attitude but«would you like more coffee?» and«let me get you another plate» 3) Lovely bathrooms. I was going to bore you with my own bathroom/restaurant Theory but I’ll just say– it’s got some nice touches that indicate the owners care about you, themselves and their staff. 4) FOODREVIEWSTARTSHERE: See #2 above: everything came out at once. Fresh. Eggs perfect. pancakes fluffy. French toast hot. Home made bread. Slammin. Off the Hook. All of it. I tried everyone’s everything– and it was all spectacular even for a picky B*(ch like me. 5) Their coffee mugs have a star on them. Now I’m irritated because all of the photos I took are on the phone, not on this computer. Whatever. Make a pilgrimage. You should.
