Had a very nice experience here. There are actually 2 optometrists working out of this office, Dr. Witchey and Dr. Shields. I originally came to this office because some of my friends from around here are patients of Dr. Witchey and highly recommended him. However, I ended up with Dr. Shields and still had a wonderful experience. It had been a few years since I’d had an eye exam, my glasses broke, and my old optometrist was far away in my old hometown, so I figured I should just get a new doctor. Dr. Shields was very friendly and conversational, and I’ve found that the prescription I was given is probably the most accurate that I’ve ever had. Most pairs of glasses I’ve had have given me headaches after prolonged use, but not these! The selection of frames is vast and they’ve got all the designer brands. It’s a bit overwhelming, but luckily the very helpful ladies that you meet at reception will help you find exactly what you want. Lynn had me try on lots of different things. When I asked for a pair that would be lightweight but pliable and durable, she immediately went around rounding up every pair she thought would fit that description. Even with all the new patient paperwork, eye exams, and deliberations over new frames, I am pretty sure I was in and out of there in an hour and a half. I picked up my new glasses less than a week later. The office is very cute, it looks more like a house than an office, and it’s very easy to find, located right next door to Glen’s Frozen Custard. So if your eyes are all screwed up from the glaucoma testing and you’re not ready to drive home yet, you can just pop over to Glen’s and wait it out with some ice cream!
