I get through New Milford every few weeks and started coming here for lunch. The food is good and the restaurant is always very clean. It is Reasonably priced. Some of the wait staff appears snobbish otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

It has been hit or miss coming here since Alex Hamilton passed on. He made the place worthwhile. I have gone back a few times, because I believe he would want the place to continue to be successful, but with their staff, it’s virtually impossible. The older woman constantly serves plates stacked on top of one another, despite complaints and requests to not do this. So you are always eating food that has been smushed down by the plate before it. This weekend though was for sure the final straw in my business there. My brother and our friends went in for brunch Sunday morning. As a large group it was easier for us to split the checks, and there was NO sign saying we would not be able to. Our server asked if we were splitting and we said yes and he said he would inform the guy at the front register, which was fine by us. What was not fine is the fact that he WOULDNOT bring us water, coffee or any beverage before EVERYONE at the table was completely ready to order. So while we were sitting there thirsty and wanting a drink before our meal we had to wait until our whole group knew what we wanted to eat before we could even have a warm coffee. Absolutely unacceptable. He stated this was necessary as the checks were being split so he had to do it all together… basically which equated to he wouldn’t be able to remember our drink orders with our food orders… which he didn’t anyways as he stood at the table auctioning off the items to people anyways. Hands down and absolutely the worst experience I have EVER had. I will not be going back and I will most certainly tell everyone I know to avoid it as well. I live right across the street, I was there almost 2 weekend a month for breakfast or dinner. I’d rather drive to Three Brothers than ever deal with that awful customer service.

Food wasn’t bad. But it’s getting 1 star for service alone. I went here with my family one afternoon. Place was empty inside and everything was going well until towards the end of the meals. The young waitress kept pretty close to use and kept looking over to us. Looked like she was«wiping down» a few tables, and awkwardly straightening salt/pepper shakers. When someone finished she would hurry over and take the plate away. And when my mom, while still had the plate in front of her, clearly still eating, the girl asked to take the plate. She started cleaning and wiping our table down while we were still sitting there. Then she asked us how much longer we were going to be! We were by no means being slow or waiting around, she was just being rude. The manager(I assume, whoever was working the register) seemed to be the one telling her what to do. Horribly rude service. Won’t go back again. A mile or so down the Three Brothers diner. Much nicer people. Go there.

This place has been better in the past but it’s dropping the bar. I got a cheese steak sandwich which was fine but nothing extraordinary and rather on the bland side. I got it as a deluxe with the fries and a coleslaw and it was disappointing that it was only small amount of fries and a sample cup Size of cole slaw. Should of been a bit more than that for the price difference I felt. My boyfriend got the chicken tenders which were very tasty. He got a side of mashed potatoes which were fine but the gravy it came with was not very good. The service was adequate. I had to ask the waitress for a refill of our drinks because she wasn’t paying the most attention to us but she was very nice. The refills on drinks are not free. Overall, I would of actually given the place two stars however I think they have really good bacon cheeseburgers which I’ve had in previous visits so they get the extra star.

Requested one of the many available booth seats and was told no. Owner huffed that she just«killed herself» to clean a table insinuating that we should be grateful for any seat. Unapologetic other owner behind register told us that he had to «keep some sort of order.» It was bizarre. i had eggs, and they were just adequate. There are too many other good food options nearby for me to ever go back.

Clean, quiet and quick, we got our coffee and breakfasts cooked perfectly with overdone home fries just like we asked for. Surprisingly it is rare at a diner to get near burnt home fries, no matter that you’ve ordered them specifically. When I got up I saw that the seating area behind the cushion was spotless rather than a crumb collection. Maybe Windmill isn’t busy enough to warrant errant crumbs or perhaps they just clean up the mess better. I think the latter after making a trip to the necessary. Did I mention quiet? So restful to find a place to have a meal and actually hear the person you’re with rather than Taylor Swift’s latest song about the ghost of ex’s past.

Great service and food! Alex does a great job in managing as always! The food prices are good and the red wine Woodbridge Cabernet is very good! I look forward to my next visit.

Best turkey club sandwich I can remember having! Fresh delicious thin sliced turkey, bacon cooked just right(not overcooked shoe leather), juicy tomatoes, crisp lettuce and just the right amount of mayo. I’ll be dreaming about this sandwich and hope to be back again for another one next time I’m in the area.

Just as fabulous as I remember. My grandparents used to live right behind it, and it was a favorite breakfast spot with my parents when I was a kid. I hadn’t been here in at least 13 years, and it was just as good as I remembered — and the owner is just as awesome as I remember. Standard diner food, standard prices. Nom nom.

I have been to many a diner on trips through Jersey and New York, and I have had better. Waitress seemed frazzled and they were vacuuming the other dining area during our lunch. Food was just okay. Really, only recommended if you need to eat. More like just merely sustenance rather than an enjoyable dining experience.

In an empty diner, the owner wouldn’t let my family sit in an open window seat, as it was in an «already cleaned area» and there were no others available We walked out and haven’t been back in over five years. Customer does not appear to come first here.

I’ve been coming to this diner for many years. It’s got extremely convenient hours, decent food, and acceptable prices. From the outside this diner doesn’t look like much, but you are surprised when you walk in an realize it is actually fairly sizable in comparison to outside appearance. The owner of the place is a very hard working, personable Greek guy and he’s generally there from open to close… and he will often times go to each table asking how the service and food is. If there is any problems, he is usually quite happy to help out by replacing your meal. There is 3 sections of the diner. One is a bar-like area where you can grab a stool and eat up front. Another section, which is in the same room as the bar section… is the booths for when you want to eat with a bit more privacy, but also need to get in and get out. Then in the other room is a fairly nice family dining area when a more intimate experience is required. While I consider the food average to slightly above average for a small diner, all the other positives make this a 4 star small diner… and best of all it’s about as least corporate as you can get in regards to diners. One last quick thing… if you need to take a left onto route 7 when leaving the Windmill Diner it can be quite tricky during times of moderate-to-heavy traffic… so if you go during rush hour it’s best to plan to take a right to go north on Route 7 and turnaround in a business that has a street light.

Hit this on the way home from some night skiing at Mohawk Mtn(Cornwall CT) Looked a bit sketchy from the outside, but it was a good diner. Food your typical dinner food, but good. The place was clean, and waitress was very friendly, as well as the owner who was a very funny happy go lucky guy. They both liked striking up conversation. If you are looking for a diner in the area you wont be disappointed.

Just had breakfast there, and I have had better. The potatoes tasted old. A bit pricey. There are plenty other choices.
