I’m honestly amazed at the negative reviews of this place– I’ve never had a sub-par experience. To be fair, I’ve never eaten in here, and when we want sushi we usually go to Tokyo Sushi, so my review will be limited to their Chinese take-out. Before Asian Fusion opened, there was basically 2 options for Chinese food in New Paltz– China House(ew) and Great Wall Kitchen. Great Wall was UNBEATABLE10 years ago, but has changed owners a few times and has never been the same, so my Chinese food consumption had trailed off significantly. Enter Asian Fusion. I was hesitant at first as the name«Fusion» seemed a little too trendy and I’m generally not an early-adopter of new places, but after trying once it I was hooked. The staff is friendly(a refreshing change after always being barked at by the Great Wall lady), the menu is extensive, and the food is fresh and delicious. I’m usually a pretty picky eater and rarely stray from my usual orders, but Asian Fusion has coaxed me to try new things on more than a few occasions and I’m usually very satisfied with my choices. I’ve never had a mixed up order, and the food has always been hot and fresh. I’ve even successfully converted my set-in-their-ways parents.(We all agree, however, that the one thing Great Wall still does better is Wonton Soup.) TL;DR– I guess some people have had bad experiences, but I’ve been getting AF takeout bi-weekly for the last 2 years and have enjoyed it every time.

Got seated right away with a group of 4. Standard Chinese menu organized by meat. Sushi also offered but I would be wary ordering it from here. Ordered beef with mushrooms and it was pretty good, came with a decent amount of vegetables like snap peas and carrots. Rice was cooked perfect and they give you enough rice for two meals. Portion size of entrees were on the large size for Chinese. Apps to start were not memorable. Service wasn’t great either.

Food is lackluster alongside employees. They look miserable working here. Cold noodles with peanut sauce was made with lo mein noodles and was just a bit odd. Dumplings weren’t great. Sweet and sour chicken was decent but it’s just chunks of chicken fried. However it came with the sauce on the side and very little of it. I heard the general tsos is good from the group I went with. I however just wasn’t impressed with this place. We were the only group dining on a Sunday afternoon in the restaurant I think that says a lot.

Asian Fusion is a jewel in New Paltz with a loyal cult following. It is hip and super casual with a friendly and laid-back staff. A small but fun bar, great no-nonsense drink specials. Drinks can be ordered by the«pitcher» at a ridiculous price. Funky bar food like edamame and seaweed Salad… haven’t tried too many entrees, usually get sushi(niiice) or Seafood Treasures, a wonderful combination of assorted seafood and vegetables, very light healthy and sublime. Booths and tables, family friendly AND hip hangout. Great stuff!

This is a typical sushi restaurant, lots of the rolls have mayo or are fried, not my favorite. Hubby had one roll, I think it was the New Paltz roll which had raw scallop in it. Not a fan. The sushi was OK, it tasted fresh but it wasn’t delicious. The salad was good, as was the dressing. The waiter, although not very knowledgeable about the sushi, was quick to refill our waters. Would I return? Probably not. There are so many other choices on Main Street and this is not one of the best.

The food is absolutely delicious here. Honestly the best«fusion» of Asian foods in the areas. However, be prepared to not receive ANY lemon with your drink.

Always can count on asian fusion to provide a decent meal no matter what you order. I wouldn’t say it is the best chinese food or sushi I have ever had, but I have never had a bad experience here.

Despite this being the best Chinese Food in New Paltz we have to boycott it. In 8 different take out orders over the course of this year 6 of them were filled out wrong. There’s nothing more upsetting in take out then getting all the way home only to find out somethings missing or wrong meaning you have to get back in the car and go back.

My girlfriend and I returned to Asian Fusion on Monday, December 29, 2014 for dinner. It was my girlfriend’s birthday on 12/29, so her dinner was free, as they are running a continuous promotion where you receive a free entrée and a free drink on your birthday. My girlfriend had a dinner combo, sesame chicken, and it came with choice of soup. She had the hot and sour soup which was excellent. The sesame chicken was very good but had to be returned to the kitchen for warming, as she received it at room temperature. She also asked for a soda with no ice, but they gave her ice in her drink. The dirink had to be returned, as well. I had a dinner entrée, chicken in garlic sauce, which was very good. The portion size was good because I asked for a larger portion size when ordering my dinner. They did not charge me for the extra portion size.

The fried rice was cold with my dinner. My girlfriend’s rice was served towards the end of her meal. The wait staff kept apologizing. I will never enter this place again.

The food is really great, they make everything seem extra fancy. Sushi is fresh and great. Take-away service is absolutely terrible though. They forget to put stuff in my bag that I payed for every single time, even after we have been reliable customers for some time.

Best casual American Asian cuisine option in New Paltz. The sushi is always tasty and fresh. They are great for takeout or dining in and usually have some good happy hour specials. My only real issue is the parking situation at their location is really crowded and limited.

First, I must say that my favorite Asian/Japanese restaurant in New Paltz is in town and I only tried this place because I had a 10% coupon. That being said, thank goodness I had that coupon because if I had to pay full price I would have spit. Let’s talk about the atmosphere which to me is important. My first impression when I walked in was, «ewe»! There was nothing warm and cozy about it. The walls were painted in a very ugly red color and the lights on the wall looked like they should have been on a spaceship or something. Beam me up Scottie! Very high ceiling, overhead lighting and an open floor plan. Ok, on to the food. My friend and I ordered an assortment of rolls and we both had the miso soup. The soup was ok, I’ve had much better. The 4 rolls we ordered were good, not very good or excellent. The service was ok as well. We had a young girl who wasn’t very personable and we are the type of people who like to converse with our waiter/waitress. No big surprise that we will NOT be going back here. I am sticking to my fav right down the street.

Finally found a good Chinese restaurant in New Paltz. I ordered takeout and was very impressed with the food quality. Portion size was great and they did not skimp on the meat. The General Tso’s chicken was especially excellent. Not too crunchy and not too much breading. Hopefully they maintain the food quality. I gave 4 instead of 5 stars because I ordered the New Paltz roll, which is scallop avocado and cucumber and wasn’t very impressed.

Not exceptional but slightly above average(3.5 stars really). The service was friendly. I stopped by for lunch and did a sample of Sushi and Thai. For sushi was a standard spicy tuna roll. They did put temprua«crunchies» in the roll which made for an interesting texture. The tuna did not seem super fresh but it was still descent. For thai I did a «Chicken Coconut Thai», which is a red curry Thai in coconut plate. The portion was just huge. The spice was slightly above average, and it’s served in a dish with a flame below to keep it hot. Interesting presentation and was descent. Overall good.

Stay away! Drive into the parking lot at back and look up at the little balcony that is the kitchen«back door». It’s strewn with dirty aprons and rags, some of which have fallen to the garbage bins below. I had a mediocre meal there a few months ago, the outside was disgusting. It’s a little improved, but look at the broken furniture lying at the front along Main Street. Based on this outside view I wouldn’t go in again. In back of the restaurant they have dirty rags hanging off a balcony. Hygiene is not their thing.

Usually a good crowd. Bartenders are, for the most part, very good at engaging in conversation and keeping the booze flowing. Good prices, and good happy hour specials.

Average, at best. Cute interior but odd parking situation– not so appetizing walking past garbage. The dishes on the menu reflect different types of Asian cuisine, it isn’t really fusion though. I had mixed veg in brown sauce, really tiny portion and super salty. I can respect a small portion if it was awesome and used organic produce. The noodle stir fry dish was better but the noodles were over cooked.
