I’m gonna check this joint out tomorrow. I’ll see you there. Yeah.

So this place surprised me more than I could ever have thought. As the former home of 60 Main(a counter culture coffee shop and community space) it had really big shoes to fill. I’ll never forget the first time that I sat down in here. I looked around, and it felt utterly void of the spirit that 60 main once generated. It’s not that there is a problem with the ambiance, it’s actually quite charming with record covers decorating the colorful walls, it’s just that I knew what came before it. That was my problem, allowing past perceptions to color my present experience. So I ordered food, and went about letting go those chains that bound me to the past. So how was the food? Out of this world! One of my favorites is the B-side burger which is their version of an egg-head — a burger with a fried egg on it. They add a secret sauce and bacon which perfectly accompanies the burgers. Burgers with a s because they use two patties. These are thin patties, but this in no way compromises the quality of the meat as it is excellent! The fries are fried to perfection. The milkshakes delish! Yeah, this is the type of perfect little diner/eatery that one would imagine if one was set with the task of imagining a perfect little eatery. Oh and the waitresses are really cute too!

Disclaimer: when I ate here, it was a Sunday morning and the restaurant seemed pretty under-staffed. So not all of these issues will be the fault of any individual employee. Don’t expect too much here. We were sat quickly after a table was cleaned off for us and our waitress(number 1) brought waters. I ordered a coffee that was brought soon after and our order was taken. Then we waited. I drank my coffee and we waited. Then waited more. After 45 minutes, an empty coffee mug, and seeing every table sat after us receive their food, we had to flag down a waitress that wasn’t ours(ours seemed to be avoiding us) to ask about the status of our food. When she finally returned, waitress number 2 said our food would be the next next order out, after a large party sat well after us. Finally, our food came(thanks waitress number 3) and it was lackluster. It was diner food that you’d expect to wait 7 minutes for, not 45. After eating the whole meal without being checked on again, and an empty coffee mug, we walked to the register and asked for our bill because we assumed we had been forgotten about again. Sorry, but if you can’t value your customers, they won’t return.

They have a burger with mozzarella sticks on it. How cool is that? It was great. The place has a very cool vibe, and it kind of reminded me of the diner from«Beverly Hills 90210» in the best way possible.

Listen, I grew up in New Paltz and have had the local faire before. B-side is unlike other places. Simply put, they have delicious food for everyone. To put it more complicated, they have amazing snacks and entrees that appeal to everyone, they have an incredibly friendly staff that REMEMBERSYOUANDYOURORDER, and it is incredibly fairly priced. You go to b-side, they have delicious but simple food, and fill up and you’re happy. I can’t say enough about how nice and delicious they are. They deserve every bit of 5 Unilocal stars

This place is truly an undiscovered gem in New Paltz. Unfortunately this building has been home to at least two other businesses since I started going to school here but do not let that deter you. The service is very good, although there are only a few servers they constantly come over to check in and make sure everything is good and if they can help in any way. They are super friendly and helpful. The food here is classic American and typically very good. While the burgers can be chewy at times, they are usually on the money and there are almost 20 different burgers to choose from along with a make your own option. The fries there are also good if not a little too salty for my taste. Their specialty sandwiches are my favorite; I highly recommend«The Crazy Train» which is a breaded chicken cutlet with pickled jalapeño, mozzarella, and pesto mayo on a sub roll. Their portions are great, especially the appetizers, the quesadilla is big enough for a meal for one. If you prefer breakfast, they serve all day breakfast with the fluffiest pancakes you could imagine. They also serve french toast, Belgian waffles, breakfast sandwiches, and omelettes among other things. The pricing here is good and the biggest gripe I have is that the milkshakes they serve aren’t particularly big considering the price is almost $ 5 a pop. Overall though, I really enjoy coming here, its friendly, casual, and delicious. They also deliver which is a big plus for college students!

Was referred by a friend. Took me some time to make it out here being that it is 45 minutes from where I live. I must say it was worth every minute of travel. The home made corned beef hash is like nothing I’ve ever had and the pancakes were a hit with my son. We will return!

Overall I like this place; I’ve been here several times and usually love the food. The atmosphere’s a little odd to me since it kind of gives off a 50’s vibe but a little too cheap to actually come across that way. The waitresses are getting better but especially a few months ago would come over every couple minutes just to ask«Is everything okay over here?» It was a little much but I think it’s calmed down a bit since then. I like coming here especially on the weekends when Main St Bistro is too crowded. Honestly I don’t know why more people don’t come to this place instead of waiting for a half hour to get a table at the bistro.

B-Side’s been around for a while, which is saying something considering its location. This block seems to be a rotating door of businesses. Sadly, this has caused me to somewhat disregard new establishments as I figure they’re probably not going to last too long. I know, I know– I’m perpetuating the cycle. Sue me. Anyway, with my usual lunch venues closed for vacation, we finally gave B-Side a chance and I’m really glad we did! Everything about the experience was a pleasant surprise. The menu was great, the service was friendly, and the décor was whimsical and appropriate. The atmosphere is very diner-esque. It almost kinda reminded me of a tiny version of Jackrabbit Slims from Pulp Fiction(albeit very less gimmicky, thankfully.) They tout an all-day breakfast menu, but we opted for some lunch items. They have an extensive burger selection, some chicken sandwiches, salads, etc. Honestly, I didn’t read much past the burgers because that’s what I was craving. The patties are kinda thin(probably to cook a little quicker) but they make up for it by giving you two of them. If I had a complaint it’s that we weren’t given the option of how we wanted them cooked. That ended up not being too big of a deal, though, because my burger was delicious. It came with a side of french fries which were solid, but nothing special. My wife got a buffalo chicken salad which was awesome as well(and I’m a buffalo sauce snob). We left very satisfied. I think the appeal of this place is that it doesn’t try to do too much. Our world has become obsessed with out-doing whoever came before them. While this can be good, it’s led to never-ending lines of one-uppers and eventually you lose the appeal of the original. B-Side knows they’re a small college-town burger joint and they aren’t trying to be anything more. They stick to what they know and they do it well. I will definitely be back because there’s at least 4 other burgers I need to try. Not to mention some breakfast items that looked to be right in my wheelhouse.

When this place opened the food was fantastic. Their burgers were significantly better than anything else we could get in town, and the fries were perfect. Really — we told everyone we knew that this place was totally awesome. Then something happened. Different cook? Change of ingredients? I’m not sure — but the burgers went from awesome to hockey-puck. The fries went from perfect to soggy. The orders started coming out wrong. We’ve been disappointed by something every time for a month now. We keep going back hoping to get the amazing food we had when we went the first few times — but it’s not there. The only thing that’s been consistent is the excellent service. The folks are nice, and serve quickly. The food is still just fine. Occasionally better than fine. But two stars because it was so good before.

So yummy! After a weekend in New Paltz, we stopped here for breakfast before our drive back home. It’s small and new I think, and right across the street from(I’m assuming its competition) Main Bistro, which is very well known in NP. This place is awesome, from the atmosphere to the people that work there. The prices were extremely fair and the portions were huge. I got the french toast which may have been the best I’ve ever had. We went on a Monday morning so it was very quiet, but I’m sure they’re busy on the weekends.

Excellent location and the food and service totally rivals it’s neighbors. Everything cooked great and fast. Owner is a local guy and this little spot is awesome. Grab a burger or a perfect Sunday breakfast. Yummmmm!!!

We were hiking so we had the dog with us. We sat outside with our furry boy. The waitstaff could not have been friendlier. They brought out drinks for us and our dog. Our order was quick and delicious. We had the burgers and shake! The burgers were juicy(double patty/sesame seed bun) and tasty. Shake was worth every calorie. Would definitely go back! :D

Nice place for breakfast… awesome 60s and 70s music memorabilia all over the walls. From what we were told the place has only been open a few months… but they’re doing a great job. Using all fresh and homemade ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the made from scratch corned beef hash.

Was looking for a good lunch and it was satisfactory for that. I had a BLT sandwich and fries which was pretty hard to screw up. The fries were plentiful. The décor seemed very amateurish, like someone just glued a bunch of old records to the wall. There were a couple of tables with découpage images on the, that looked like they weren’t properly laid down and had no sealer on them. There were some cute 60s related posters and bumper stickers though. A place called Bside definitely should have some good oldies(aka music that would be on a Bside) and it REALLY could use a jukebox. So the food was good but at, osphere was like a dive, so fine but not very memorable where I’m itching to come back.

I came here twice in one week and both times were a disappointment. The waitress is really nice and accommodating but the food is nasty. I got the Philly cheese stake and regretted it after the first bite. The bread was stale and dry. The cheese sauce tasted fake like worse then McDonald’s cheese. I ended up taking the bread off and eating just the inside. I was very pissed off. The second time I got a banana spilt. It was actually delicious. Probably because the nice waitress made it instead of the cook. I ordered a tex mex hot dog and once again was overcome with dismay at first bite. Soggy bacon, fake cheese, and the chipotle= mayo with orange food coloring. Chipotle is one of my favorite sauces. The meat was too salty and had a disturbing texture. I am never ordering food here again, the quality is down the toilet.

A new restaurant on the scene in New Paltz. Very cool music-themed décor inside, and very friendly staff. I came here on their opening day, and they were extremely helpful and courteous. The food was very tasty and the portions were big. I got a burger and fries, and was not disappointed. I would have given them 4 out of 5 stars, but I had to dock a star because their hours say they are open until 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, but last night they were closed by 1 a.m. with no explanation. You can’t make a Facebook post two days prior telling everyone that you are open until 4 a.m. and not live up to the promise, especially on one of your opening weekends! You disappointed a group of drunk college students(such as myself). I’d be willing to give them that star back if this doesn’t become a normal occurrence.
