Dollar General, in general, is pretty good about being straightforward. Not everything is priced at $ 1.00, so they have a little bit of everything you might need. A lot of the newer stores are well-organized and easy to navigate, whereas the old stores were difficult and chaotic.(I can’t think of a location that would be terrible in New Paris but I still remember the smell of some chicken place that burnt to the ground just north of here but the smell is thankfully gone after all these years.) In small towns like New Paris where there is no grocery store, Dollar General wins. They have a big chain with loads of distribution capacity, so that they can offer good prices in contrast to the mom and pop grocery stores that have to charge more to sell you anything. I found this one to be a good store and the clerk was friendly. The $ 5.00 off coupon introducing the store was mighty helpful. If the many other locations are any indication, this New Paris location should be active for many years.
