My family and I went there a few days ago. The food and service was excellent. Our waitress Sandra and Jasmine was very pleasant and friendly. Our hibachi chef, Ayi was funny and kept everyone engaged with his performance. I don’t understand why some people rate them any lower, but this place definitely was a great experience… and I have been to hibachi restaurants in North Carolina, California and Texas. This one definitely ranks among the best one.

TERRIBLE from start to finsh. I made reservations for 7 people. We waited to be sat in the entrance. I ordered sushi as soon as we sat down but our soup and salad came out first. The rice was cooked first and veggies were last. By the way, it cost 2.95 extra for noodles rather then a plate of rice. Food really had no flavor. Sushi was nothing to brag about. Very over priced and definitely not tasty. then our check came! My sister showed the server her Groupon deal and they wouldn’t accept it. they said you can’t use it on a holiday(memorial day). The deal says may not be used on(mothers/father’s day). Their were no signs stating that it couldn’t be used today!!! The owner was trying to whisper in her ear so the other customers couldn’t hear his crap excuses. You will not walk out the door with out spending at least $ 100.00. Disappointed to say the least. WEWILLNEVERGOBACK, that’s for SURE

Our usual place had a half hour wait so we decided to try a new sushi restaurant. I am so thrilled we finally tried this place. Food was absolutely amazing and service was wonderful. We had a large group our server asked if we were celebrating anything. I tould we were celebrating my son getting a great new job. We we were done eating she brought out a dessert for him that had congratulations on it. We will definitely be returning!

Nothing special about this hibachi restaurant other than the prices and the bad, bad red wine. The hibachi chef was friendly, and the wait staff efficient. The food was not remarkable, but just a touch better than most hibachi restaurants. However, the prices were 10−20% higher, the pinot noir on the menu was the worst I’ve ever had. We primarily went to Kumo because we received two gift cards from a friend. Our gift cards totaled $ 100, but we still had to put out an additional $ 60 for our party of five(one kids menu item)! Overall, the food was only good, but not worth the price and not worth returning here.

Had hibachi and it was awesome. It’s been the best hibachi we have had in a while. Service was good and timely.

Great service:) They offer half off an appetizer when u text KUMO4 to a number for coupons. We got the shumai and it was yummy! We both got the hibachi. Super fast with soups and salad. Soup was good, salad not so much. It was not very fresh. The rest of the food turned out awesome! Most places like this give u noodles but this place did not. No big deal to me bc I was so full already. I’ll come back again:)

Was a little worried about going here but I’ve learned to not trust people who have only given bad reviews. Went here because I wanted sushi & haven’t really found a great place. Well this is it. Walked in & there was a hostess standing there ready to seat us. This place is huge inside but has a cozy feel to it. We sat at a booth not hibachi area. Waitress was very polite. When she carded my boyfriend I told her it was his birthday. Which she saw & wished him a hbd. I got sushi &VEGGIE dumplings. I’ve only found 1 other place that has veggie dumplings & they were fantastic. Definitely homemade. My boyfriend got scallops & steak, both cooked perfectly. It was a good sized portion, with a good amount of veggies. The fried rice was a little bland but again we weren’t at the hibachi so that might be why. When we were finished the waitress brought my bf some cake with a candle. She sang to him(didn’t ask or have to pay for it) she did this on her own. The manager also stopped during the meal to make sure everything was okay. Next time I go I’m sitting at hibachi. The chef was singing a song as he wheeled his chart. It sounded so fun in there, he was definitely having fun.

I’m genuinely impressed with this place! I got a discounted groupon deal so wasn’t really bothered that it was New Port Richey, just figured I would give it a try. They did GREAT on the plaza. The restaurant was clean and we were seated right away on a Friday night. Hibachi cook was hilarious and the two kids at my table couldn’t stop laughing. Kind of disappointed they don’t serve noodles with the Hibachi but you can order a side. Price is fair compared to Kobes, $ 22 – 27 with almost equal quality. Clean and quick I’m happy with it :) we will be back

Kumo is pretty good in the hibachi department. Thy wait until the end to cook vegetables which is a little strange. I believe they do deserve a better Unilocal rating then is current. Will also say it’s pricy 30+ for filet and shrimp! MARONE

Miso soup is the norm, nothing special there. We ordered sushi rolls this time, last time here we ate at the hibachi, same as most other Japanese steakhouses. Lettuce n cucumber in the side salad that came w my son’s chicken tereyaki dinner was spoiled. The sushi however was very good.

I love this place and the food. I cheated and went to another Hibachi grill and well it wasn’t great. Jay who is an amazing indviidual was very attentive and kind. I believe the Grill Chef was Kumon and his food rocks!!!

My fiancé and I frequently visit Kuma and always have wonderful service and entertaining chefs. I get the NY strip with Seabass! The Seabass is like butter here. I never thought I’d get such a wonderful piece of fish. I literally have it every time, and highly recommend it for any seafood lover. In addition we also had the hot lover’s roll as an appetizer. Not only did it taste amazing but it was wrapped in pink seaweed and shaped in hearts! A beautiful touch to already amazing sushi. Thank you to Kumo for always giving us lovely date nights!

My family and I went for my sisters birthday and I am a regular attender to hibachi restaurants. The soup and salad were ok as usually but once he started the hibachi they didn’t give us any noodles and when I asked he said they didn’t have them. Then when he was portioning out the food he must have made too little because we were given barely any food! We all requested the steak to be cooked medium and he made it so rare that it was probably not safe to eat. But what astonished me the most was they were just as expensive as any other hibachi place you would go to. Such a disappointment! I would not recommend it.

I will preface this by saying that we did not have hibachi food, only from the sushi lounge. We ordered vegetable tempura, beef tataki, pork gyoza, tuna and fatty tuna(toro) sushi.(Nigiri of course). The vegetable tempura was good, and we were pleasantly surprised by the broccoli and mushrooms! It feels like you don’t find those anymore in tempura appetizers. The beef tataki was delicious, but the sauce suspiciously tasted like unagi(eel) sauce and not ponzu sauce. The sushi. Oh, the sushi. At the bar the fish didn’t look bad at all, do we ordered. The fatty tuna seemed to be a cheap cut. I didn’t hold that against them because it’s hard to get Toro in this area. Buttttttt… That’s where the problems began. The slice of fish was too long. It didn’t fit in the mouth well. The rice was obviously not sushi grade, and you couldn’t taste the vinegar at all! I would definitely not waste my money on sushi here again. The reason this review is three stars and not two is because of our waitress. She was super sweet and nice! It’s too bad we won’t be coming back :(

One of the better Japanese restaurants in town. Prices for 2 adults and 2 kids is +$ 100 w/tip. Side order of extra vegetables is $ 7. Way too much in my book give the entrée prices. Kid portions are huge. You’ll get a reward card for every $ 30 you spend. Turn in 6 and get $ 30 off your check. With that said, if you use a coupon or Groupon– you won’t get any rewards card regardless of how much you total bill was after the discount. That was a bitter surprise.

I am in love! The white rice all on its own with out any sause is amazing. Will be a regular every Saturday lunch as long as I got some money. Have had the Pork Katsu, Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box, Various Sushi, Unagi Don Bento Box. All were amazing. The Unagi Don was my favorite so far probably until next week when I try something new. Snagged me a sushi wish list to ogle all week and mark them off as I go.

Very pricey for what you get my potstickers were burned. They won’t let you have noodles at the grill only rice however the cook was kind enough to get us noodles. I was very unimpressed with this place and I would not recommended my friends or family to go unless I really didn’t like someone then I may recommend it.

Finally made it out to this new restaurant, and it was pretty good. They serve the typical hibachi items: salad with ginger dressing, soup, etc. I had the hibachi chicken and NY strip. The fried rice was very good. My only complaints would be that the steak was overcooked and the table was crowded with way too many chairs. The servers were great, though, and the cook was very pleasant. I’d like to go back again sometime to try their sushi.

Terrible experience, we walk in on a Tuesday 5 minutes after 3pm, stand in the lobby for 5 minutes as no one greets us, someone comes out, would appear that he works there, asks if someone is helping us, we reply«no», he walks out, leaves us standing there and then 5 minutes later a woman comes out and says«can I help you?», standing there feeling like idiots at this point, why else would people be standing in your lobby, we would like to have a seat, get something to eat??? «Oh we close, lunch over — sorry», dumbfounded because all of the booths visible from the door have guests seated and eating. Now, as I write this review from the parking lot I’ve watched three sets of customers get turned away because you choose to close mid day. Beautiful shopping center, brand new facelift, attracting tons of customers to it and you choose to close mid day and loose money to do what? We won’t be back — we will stick to our favorite sushi place instead of looking for another. The level of service given to us at the door is proof enough not to check you guys out!

Waited over 45 minutes after being seated for the cooking to start. I think they underestimated the crowd they would have before the holiday, so they were short handed. Food was excellent! Everything was well prepared, the bar drinks were good, and the hibachi chef very entertaining. The restaurant itself is really well done, clean, and the staff friendly. I dinged them for the wait time for the food, so we will have to try again and see if we have the same experience.
