I saw Dr. Fotopoulos for a skin check recently and was happy with the care I received. He took the time to explain everything in a very understandable way, and did not try to sell me unnecessary treatments or cosmetic procedures. The nurse and office staff were knowledgeable and very professional. I will return to this practice in the future.

Évaluation du lieu : 5 New Port Richey, FL
Full disclosure: I worked for New Image Dermatology for two years. However, this review is unsolicited and reflects my experience as a patient, not a former employee or nurse. Thank you. Drs. Fotopoulos and Myers of NID are the BEST dermatologists in West Central Florida. They are meticulous, perfectionists and will always explain everything you need to know in laymen’s terms. If you need to go over what they are talking about over and over again, they will spend that time with you. Dr. Foto is very«buttoned up» and all business if you like that sort of personality. Dr. Myers is a bit more low key and laid back, if you’re into that sort of thing. They both have amazing«bedside» manner and are extremely professional. Pick the doctor whose personality best suits your needs. They’re both fabulous men, amazing at what they do and collectively have over 50 years of experience between them. They are competent, caring, ethical and most of all, knowledgeable in all facets of care when it comes to skin, hair and nails from the pediatric to the geriatric patient and everyone in between. Their Physicians Assistant, Ed Mercado, is also a great diagnostician and you can feel very confident in his care as well. He’s also a hoot. Really personable guy. I have trusted him with my personal care many times when the docs were not available and feel completely confident in his abilities. He is more knowledgeable than many. The back office staff is amazing. Some of the best trained nurses and MA’s in dermatology. Their nursing manager, Cheryl, is a fabulous person who definitely knows her stuff. She’s very good with making sure that the nurses/MA’s get back to you with biopsy results, prescription refills or inquiries. Cheryl is also the Skin Care Specialist on staff and performs procedures like microderm and acne surgery. And waxing. Boy, did I ever take advantage of THAT when I worked there! ;) They do free cosmetic consultations so get in on that! The gals at the front desk are very personable and unlike many other doctor’s offices, they run a tight ship over there. You are never left out in the waiting room for very long without some sort of explanation or acknowledgment of your presence. It is rare that a patient is waiting longer than 20 minutes on any given day, except for perhaps in the case of an emergency. The office is run by Laura, the High Priestess of New Image Dermatology. I say this with great affection for her. She is rigid, stringent, has very high expectations of both the doctors and her staff and runs a VERY well oiled machine. She keeps that whip cracking, but is also very compassionate and caring; a perfect combination to run a very busy practice such as theirs. New Image is very active in the community, participating in organized charity events, which is something I truly appreciated during the time I worked with them. I think it is important to be out there with your public, encouraging them to get skin checks done. Not sure if they still do this or not, but I know that on Wednesdays, they used to do free skin cancer checks. Please call to see if that is something they still do(any biopsies that you may need or prescriptions written of course are not free). You do not have to receive treatment, but at least you will know if you have something brewing on your skin and are aware of what you need to do for treatment should you opt to have them take care of it for you. They have two locations, one on Gulf Drive in New Port Richey and one in Bayonet Point/Hudson. The staff is extremely accommodating for emergency situations and will do whatever they can to make sure you are seen. While I no longer work for them, my family continues to see them for all sorts of skin related maladies from ringworm gifted to me by my new kitten, to eczema on my grandson, to skin cancer on my daughter, to identification of funky moles on my husband. They are superior at what they do and recommend them highly for all your skin related needs. From acne to alopecia, rosacea to psoriasis… sunscreens to skin cancers, they have you covered. Speaking of «being covered» —(Nurse hat on) Please… protect yourself from the harsh Florida sun. USESUNSCREEN daily. Why? Every 30 minutes, someone dies from melanoma, the most severe form of skin cancer. This is needless and senseless. Please go have your skin checked yearly. Slather your children in it. One bad burn as a child can end up as a skin cancer in your adult years. It’s important. Do it. End lecture.(Nurse hat off) See their website at and tell them that Nurse Cher sent you.
