Cancelling my appointment before I even go to my appointment. They have struck me as odd since I walked in.(They made me go in person to fill out paperwork before I scheduled an appointment… odd). I made my appointment, then, they rescheduled me. And then they called back to reschedule me a second time and when I told them no they sounded angry. But then the final straw was as follows: I received a call the day before my appointment to confirm. They then notified me that when I come in, I will not only have a $ 25.00 co-payment, but because I have not met the deductible with my insurance company for the year I will need to pay them $ 160.00 for the visit. I told them that I had been seeing doctors for years and it doesn’t work that way. She proceeded to disagree and I told her I would cancel my appointment. She then said that she would call me back when the office manager returned in a half hour. I proceeded to call my insurance company to confirm that I wasn’t incorrect and they confirmed that I was right, I was only required to pay my $ 25.00 copay. While I was on the phone with my insurance company, Dr Song’s office called back. The woman said, «I was right, you will need to pay the $ 160.00.» She then said it is because my health insurance is out of state. She told me that they will charge the $ 160.00 to a credit card and if after 30 days they still need the $ 160.00 they will keep the amount, or if not they will credit it. Not a fan of someone having access to my credit card smelling scam, I cancelled the appointment. I confirmed that they will not be charging a cancellation fee and she said they won’t. I asked for her name and she hung up on me. You would think in general that they would treat patients better, never mind the fact that they are dealing with mentally ill patients who might be sensitive. Wow!

One of the worst experiences ever. The office is drab and not inviting. The office staff just plain sucks. The receptionist is one of the rudest I have ever came across. There are plenty people out in the world that would love a job and if this nasty old bag cant seem to be at least a little friendly then there is a line of people to replace her. Dr. Song doesn’t even call you back when you are having a allergic reaction to the medicine she prescribed. She has her drill sergeant front end help leave a message on your voicemail saying that there will no changed to your medication and to take with food. WTF? Are you serious!!! THISOFFICESUCKS!

After moving to the New Port Richey area I had to quickly find a doctor who could prescribe my medication for depression and anxiety, which I’ve been on for years. I settled for Dr. Song because I was in a bind and didn’t have time to shop around. I have seen her only a handful of times, and I must say, it has gotten to the point where I dread my appointments. They feel very impersonal and rushed. During each visit I had to rehash everything(my job, education, life story, meds that work, meds that don’t work, etc.) Does this woman not take notes? I should also mention that I felt very put-off by her office manager/receptionist. She is also impersonal and curt. Before each appointment she would lead me into Dr. Song’s office, have me step on the scale, and call out my weight to Dr. Song. I don’t have a weight problem by any means but this routine has made me very uncomfortable and self-conscious. After my appointment, I had to hand my prescriptions over to her so she could review them, which I thought was odd. As a medical professional, I find this to be an example of poor patient care and confidentiality. Having seen many psychiatrists and therapists since my late teens, I understand that finding the right doctor can take some time, and that one doctor who works well with one patient may not be right for someone else. That being said, this review isn’t a personal attack on Dr. Song or her staff, just my personal opinion and experience. I had an appointment with Dr. Song for this coming Monday but have since cancelled it as I want to find a new psychiatrist.

We weren’t happy with this Dr.‘s patient care and they have tried to obstruct efforts to obtain a personal copy of the patient record report, despite being required to release this information to the patient by law. We felt that they were trying to get money out of us at every opportunity and had little to no regard for patient well-being. I would strongly urge potential patients to consider going elsewhere and I do hope that anyone who uses this Dr. has a better experience than we did. We have nothing good to say Dr. Sae Song or her office.
