Just finished delicious dinner. Great service and hospitality. Don’t miss the pepper shrimp to start.

I’ve been here three times and every time the food is more and more amazing! The service is a bit slow to get your food but that’s because they are making it fresh for you. The thing I love the most is that every time I have been here the owners are always walking table to table to see how you feel about your meal or of everything is ok! I absolutely love that!

So it was my first time at this restaurant, my friends have been telling me to try it for a long time. I was waiting for a friend to meet me for dinner. I was offered a drink and menu as I waited. When she came we order food and drinks. I ordered a mango Mojito which was very good! For dinner I ordered vegetarian rasta pasta, I was in love lol. My friend ordered the salmon and I can’t remember her drink but we were definitely satisfied. The place had a nice atmosphere as well. I just wish there were more vegetarian options to choose from but other than that it was very nice. I will be going back there for sure.

The place is small and the ambiance is real nice. We were looking for a place to eat and didn’t have the desire for City Island. A friend suggested we should visit this restaurant.(NOREGRET) The meal we had was very tasty. I will be back for sure!!!

Was at AP2G both Friday and Saturday night.(Not greedy! Lol… Just had reservations at Alvin & Friends and… Let’s just say I will NEVER go back there again… Feel free to read the review I left them!) — Friday: Had a GREAT time with my girlfriends Friday night! Drinks were great and… THEFOODWASGREAT!!! Andddddd… The owner was SUPERFRIENDLY!!! Our waiter, Chris, is always friendly so no surprise there… But I was thoroughly impressed! Especially considering how packed it was! — Saturday: again, had reservations at that other place(ugh!) but came here since it was close by and didn’t want folks to drive far to another spot. Was a little disappointed that there wasn’t any live music(cmon AP2G, it’s Saturday night!!!) buttttt again, the food was great andddd the owner was FRIENDLY!(Tho the women can be moody comment missed its mark with three feminists sitting at the table! Lol… But it was cool). Check marks and Gold stars everywhere! Lol. We had a great time. Looking forward to coming back!

Seriously good food. Small place that has that home cooked meal feel with a classic chef presentation. I have eaten here four times and I can’t believe this is my first review. Each time I have had exceptional service and exceptional food. The cod fish appetizer is to die for. The jerk chicken is always a favorite. Once we even asked the owner/chef to make anything for the table and the spread he brought out was nothing short of amazing. There is a bar in front if you would rather have some drinks and apps instead but I encourage you to explore the menu… you won’t be disappointed.

You could almost miss this place as it is almost tucked away on a very busy street. I went for brunch on what was a surprisingly quiet Sunday afternoon(I hear there is usually a line and long wait to be seated) much to our surprise we walked right in and what a delicious treat we were in store for. The service was prompt and not overbearing, the wait time for our food was average. We ordered from the brunch menu which was comprised of both American and Jamaican traditional brunch fare. I ordered the escoveitch snapper with green banana and it was simply delicious. The snapper though fried was not oily yet crunchy and properly seasoning with pickled onions and peppers. The rum punch was also very tasty. The rest of my party thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. All in all it was a great brunch experience.

This place is really good. The crowd was good, vibes were good, drinks and music were great. I loved the music they played, I sang and danced the whole night. The food was really good. Jerk chicken and macaroni and cheese was on point. The rice and peas I disliked. They had a funny taste deff didn’t taste the best. The rum punch was good. Loved it, will be going back!

The food is excellent and the omnibus is nice. The rum punch is very good. The only reason why I did not give a 4 or 5 star is the service. The waitress was pleasant whenever she was around which was not often. When she passed by on the other side of the establishment she would not look in our direction. I am not sure if it was just an off night, but for a Saturday night I think the staff should have been more attentive to the patrons. I will visit again and hopefully the attentiveness of the staff will be better.

Celebrated wedding anniversary dinner 9⁄19. Food was well worth the drive to New Rochelle. Service could have been a little better but certainly not«demerit-worthy». Recommend making a reservation if dining between Fri and Sunday. Looking forward to brunching there — jerk chicken spring rolls are a MUST! Oxtails were off the hook and jerk pork was well worth the wait. The décor and ambiance makes for a great date night, special occasion or family dinner. Come hungry leave happy and full. Prices reasonable for portion size.

My husband and I were there for Happy Hour on a recent Friday night and were so glad we stopped by. A Lovely bartender who made some kick azz drinks, sweet friendly woman! The definately get a repeat crowd as many knew each other and the bartender went out of her way to keep checking on us and including us in conversation. The rum punch she made was strong and tasty and only $ 5 during the 2 hour happy hour which I believe is 5−7p. We were comfortable at the bar so after ordering appetizers we stayed there and ate dinner. While the restaurant is billed as Caribbean it has a very heavy Jamaiccan influence. The red snapper filet escotvich was so good that I would have liked to eat it all but the portion was big so I brought half home. They offer red snapper served whole or fillet. The coconut rum cake was so slamming I had to take a piece home. My husband had the curry shrimp and practically licked his plate. Everything we had aside from the coconut shrimp were outstanding. The shrimp was not bad, it was good just nothing outstanding and the rest of the meal and experience was amazing, so this is the only reason I’m mentioning the shrimp. There were many other appetizers we will return to try.

Drove alllllllllll the way from Jersey City, NJ and it was worth it! A Place 2 Go is a small intimate space, with beautiful décor and a very down to earth atmosphere. I’m guessing since the space was so small that is the reason why our service was so prompt!(No complaints there at all!) I’m sorry I did not get our waitresses name, she was a sweet attentive young girl(unlike another waitress who was attending to tables not too far from us and always seemed to have a scowl on her face as she walked to or from her tables, I even heard her kiss her teeth a few times) Anyhow our waitress was great. We started with the pepper shrimp and the jerk chicken spring rolls. Honestly we could have passed on the spring rolled and doubled up on the pepper shrimp. They were HOT but flavorful and delicious! For drinks I had their version of a Long Island iced tea, I wasn’t to thrilled with it and would more than likely try their rum punch on the next visit. Mr., had the fruit punch which was yummy(minus the alcohol) For our main entrées I went with the brown stew snapper with a side of Mac & Cheese, he has the oxtails with a side of rice &a peas, and an order of plantains for us to share. My snapper was DELICIOUS, I cleaned almost every bone off that fish. His oxtails were pretty good as well. Both were flavorful. His rice and peas were great as well, while my Mac & Cheese I could have lived without. The plantains aren’t your typical fried plantains — they weren’t very sweet, nor were they flattened and then fried, but they got a pass. Dessert(yes we can eat) we had the carrot cake, which was HUGE and bigger than we expected. But again it was perfect! I will definitely return to try a few other items on the menu. Hopefully they remain consistent!

The Rum @ Brunch was probably one of the best brunches I have been to and I consider myself a «bruncher». Food was buffet style which was good, forced me to eat more that I wanted to lol. The music was great! Wonderful balance of all different genres. They didn’t only play music that was over played on the radio. A mix of everything! 90s music, African music, soca, reggae and the list goes on! Only negative is that it wasn’t advertised enough. If I hadn’t asked about their Sunday’s brunches I don’t think I would have heard of it and would have missed out on such a great event. A recommendation would be to have a flyer the week leading up so that guests could see and the waiters should mention it as well. Majority of my friends are from the city so having them travel to Westchester is a big thing for them. And the fact that they are willing to make that commute again just to come for the bring again is amazing. The Rum @ Brunch is once every month and is a brunch that I will go to again. I wouldn’t recommend this place if it wasn’t this good! I have not met anyone disappointed with the food or service there.

Visited this restaurant this past weekend, there were ten of us who dined together. Had a 8:30pm reservation… all ten of us arrived 8:30pm on the dot but our table wasn’t ready. We waited about 15 – 20 minutes to be seated. The 15 – 20 minutes wait time is not the worst wait time in the world but then again, what’s the point of a reservation especially when the restaurant calls you hours b4 to confirm that your coming, table should have been ready! The staff seems to be friendly and professional for the most part. Dining area is small but décor is nice. Restaurant had a live band playing music on the evening I went which was really nice, everyone in my party enjoyed the live music and talent of the band, two thumbs up for that. Drinks were good. Food was ok… between all ten of us, we ordered plenty from the appetizer menu and dinner menu which included: calamari, fried chicken wings, jerk calamari, crab cakes etc. From the dinner portion of the menu we ordered: curry shrimp, fried chicken, oxtail, jerk chicken, pasta, veg fried rice etc. The presentation of the food was great, that taste of some of the dishes left us disappointed! Curry shrimp didn’t have enough curry and tasted bland, fired chicken looked like it was delicious but also lacked flavor and a desire for more, fried calamari seemed to be breaded/seasoned the same way fried chicken was which I wasn’t expecting & didn’t like, others at the table either liked or disliked. My mother ordered the veg rice and she enjoyed. My sister ordered the pasta/rasta pasta and she liked. Overall, A Place 2 Go was just ok for me as far as the food was concerned. Ambiance was nice/cool. Band was great and service was good!

I underestimated the place due to the nondescript name and the plain and simple outdoor appearance. Once inside, the aroma of delicious food, and trendy décor, the relaxed vibe and music let me know we were in for a special evening. I am of Jamaican descent so I don’t want to order every day food when I go out for carribean food. I was pleased to find fresh takes on classic dishes as well as fusion elements and I enjoyed everything from appetizer to dessert. They do seafood very well. I recommend the pepper shrimp(what a delicious spicy sauce! My boyfriend ate it by itself when the shrimp was gone.) and whole red snapper. I’m big on desserts and the coconut rum cake hit the spot… moist, buttery, rummy! My only criticism about the food was that the mac and cheese was too salty, but this did not prevent me from gobbling it up.(I drank a ton of water after.) Our server Chris was a gem; attentive, friendly and professional. We have been looking for upscale a west Indian restaurant/soul since Negril in Harlem closed. A place 2 go is along that line but I think the food presentation and the service here surpasses Negril. Give it a try.

Came here on a date on a Saturday. Was informed that there was a time limit for sitting at the table so we sat at the bar. Started off with the Blue Mountain Martin(they definitely don’t skimp on the alcohol). For appetizers I chose the«Jerk Calamari»(loved the spiciness, but the texture was off). My second drink was the Mango Martini(again, very strong and delicious). We then had the jerk wings with macaroni and cheese, and plantains(seasoned perfectly). We then had a shot of Chocolate liquor(wow, no words for that). Finished the night off with another Blue Mountain Martini. By this time I was done. Overall the atmosphere was great, the bartender was friendly even the people who sat at the bar for a drink or dinner was friendly. Definitely recommended this place to a few friends, and I’ll be returning soon.

A Place 2 Go was a great recommendation by a friend for us to eat on a cold snowy Saturday night. The décor and overall ambience was lovely. The staff members were accommodating and friendly. For my appetizer, I had the coconut shrimp. It was OK, nothing special… For my entrée, I had the whole stew fish with rice and peas. It was perfectly seasoned! My friend had the veggies rundown. She enjoyed her meal and stated it was well seasoned and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. My other two friends ordered the jerk chicken and stated that it was well prepared. This place is definitely a repeat.

So, my family and I came here after a show and we bought a voucher on our drive to the restaurant. It was a voucher for four people, which included four drinks, four entrees and two apps to share. Since neither my husband or mother-in-law wanted the included drinks(Rum Punch or Tropical Iced Tea), my sister and I both had one of each. My husband decided to try their take on what seemed to be a kind of non-frozen mudslide. I forget the name(Call A Friend, maybe?) but it tasted very good and they don’t skimp on the alcohol. Their drinks are very good and strong. We started with the Calimari which was crispy and seasoned very well. We also had the Jerk Chicken Spring Rolls which we ordered because of all the rave reviews. They were good; nice and light, with a hint of jerk spice. Three of us ordered the Curry Shrimp with Rice & Peas for our sides. Their rice and peas are so flavorful but a bit salty and the shrimp dish was a bit salty as well. It still tasted great and had great flavor. Hubby had the Jerk Pork but couldn’t finish it. He doesn’t do spice heat that well but if he could have eaten the whole thing, he would have went in on his plate. Needless to say, my son benefitted greatly from the doggy bag. I like to try a lot of different dishes when I visit a new place so I opted for an extra side dish of the Mac & Cheese. It was decent. Nice taste and consistency. For dessert, we shared two cakes: their version of Black Cake and a Rum Pound Cake. So, we’re in a Caribbean restaurant and they have black cake on the menu. You know you have to try it. Maybe because I’ve had my mother’s black cake, a version which she made for two of her children’s weddings(mine, included) and made religiously, every year on special occasions and holidays; a black cake in which she made with rum-soaked raisins that stewed in their alcoholic brew for months before becoming worthy of being chosen to be baked in a cake of such developed flavors, this version just did not resonate with me. This passion for my mother’s black cake was definitely lacking. The pound cake tasted better to me. It was good but I wished they had other options. They had none of the dessert items I actually wanted to try. Despite some of the minor disappointments, I am happy to have found a Caribbean restaurant in the area that offers decent tasting food in a setting that doesn’t resemble a dive bar. It’s nice to get dressed up and eat the food of your culture. It’s nice to be able to make it a «night out» and not just a take out errand to run dinner home. They definitely have room and time to improve. The food is way better than any other dressy West Indian restaurant I’ve visited. It is far from being dumned down to meet to palate of those less fortunate folk that don’t get out much. If you can handle some spice, have them serve you up some grub. It’s worth a trip.
