Sarah (daddy’s girl) is the worst person I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Customer service is no where on her radar. I’m sure the only reason she has a job is because of daddy, because she is a useless waste of space. Take your vehicle anywhere but here.

Wanted to provide an update and let people know that ultimately my car needed to go to Ford because C&C dumped it at my house in UNSAFE to drive condition. Despite their charging and being paid $ 11,000 they neglected to repair the entire electrical system, change the seatbelts or fix the air bags (among, many, many other items they neglected to make). The subcontractor they hired to paint the hood was subpar and the paint began to chip immediately. I am currently out of pocket $ 6000 for the additional repairs. Resolution is ongoing. DO NOT USE THIS REPAIR SHOP. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND NOT REPAIR YOUR CAR.

I just moved here and wanted a mechanic that was walkable. So, I went to C and C — bad reviews be damned — and have been glad I did! I waited until I used them for a bunch of services on my car and my wife’s to have a base of experience to relate and it’s all been good. They’ve done many oil changes, replaced my tires and replaced a side mirror. All done well, finished the same day, and for a fair price. No complaints.

AAA referred me to C & C Auto Repair after I caught a flat in New Rochelle. The tow truck came in about half an hour, my car was not too far from the shop. I had no problem with the tow service. The problem started when I got to the office.
I sat in the office for over 3 hours waiting for a «tire» to arrive. When it finally did, I got the bill, $ 300!!! C & C decided to give me a brand new tire, the same exact type that was on my car. When I sat there for 3 hours no one asked me if I wanted a new tire or a used one, they just assumed I wanted to pay $ 300 for a brand new tire. I didn’t even raise a complaint because I was in there for so long and just wanted to get out. I ended up paying $ 300 and lost over 3 hours of my life. If someone had just talked to me when I got there and asked me what I wanted I would be satisfied. Poor Customer Service. Will not use again.

Referred by Triple AAA to this mechanic shop. Our vehicle needed a new engine which we were over charged for. After the replaced engine our vehicle worked for a few months then we experienced the same problem — replaced engine broke down. If you have an old car just go directly to a dealer, as you will end up spending less in long run.

Worst auto repair experience. Took several attempts to fix car. After 2 weeks of driving, something broke at the same exact area they «fixed». Gas spilled all over a busy intersection in Westchester. Police and Fire Department came to clean the mess, and was a total nightmare. Because of C&C’s failure to fix the car on their first attempt ($ 700.00 wasted), the car was towed to another garage. Praying these other guys get it right. Final word and advice: If C&C are called to tow your car, do not be persuaded by the driver to have your car fixed at their shop. Have the car taken to your personal mechanic, or the first place you had in mind. Not C&C.

Went there because of AAA endorsement.
A simple $ 440 radiator replacement has turned into a never-​ending loop of «check engine» light coming on after the repair, go back there, reset, quotes for additional parts needed. A $ 100 second opinion from another shop (who told me it’s a sensor issue) might well save me $ 500 or so.
update: brought it back. it took another $ 400+ to pass inspection, plus they burned an entire tank of gas! Told me they had to drive it 300 miles because of… who cares why??. The light is still on, and the kicker is when I told them they said «bring it to us next year when inspection is due.» Right.
Over $ 800 (plus the $ 100 mentioned earlier), no new radiator, check engine light is still on and I am a sap. I complained to AA.

I had a relatively extended experience with them. After my car failed to start one evening I called AAA for a tow. When the tow truck came I wanted it towed to a local shop but then he told me about his shop. Since I trust AAA to vet out any non-​reputable shops I decided to have my car serviced by them. After calling every couple of days for a status update I got my car back in about a week. It was a hefty cost for the repair; the invoice only showed the car part cost and did not break out the labor. (More on that later.) A couple of days later the car wouldn’t start and called them directly to be towed back to the shop.
I called every few days thereafter to find out the status of my car. After about two weeks of waiting they called me that the car was repaired. They figured (finally) what went wrong, fixed it, and didn’t charge me. Way to own up to the repair quality. (!)
So here is my take:
The original invoice had a huge mark up on the part cost compared to what I could find on online car part costs. From what my friend told me (and I verified), car repairs by law need to break down the part cost separately from the labor cost.
(I don’t believe that a tow truck operator is allowed to «sway» anyone to direct them to their shop for repairs. But that is my gut instinct rather than from fact.)
They do not let you know what is going on with your car until it is ready for pick up. One has to kind of keep on top of them. I get it that the second time I had it in their shop that I wouldn’t be a high priority since they wouldn’t be charging me for the redo.
They are honorable that they upheld the «agreement» that they’d take care of the repair. I didn’t complain nor be nasty to them all the while. I feel that by being civil with them that I didn’t experience a bad time with them even though it took two tries and about three weeks of calling and waiting.
After I had my car in the first time and starting reading the bad experiences some have had. I felt a lump in my throat and a heavy heart. It disappeared when I finally got my car back. However, during the second «installment» of car repair hell, I felt pretty nervous that I’d have to get unruly with them and that I would get «hosed» for another expensive invoice. Those fears didn’t come to pass.
One has to remember that this is a small shop (not that many bays) and not some large operation. So they have only so many mechanics to work on the vehicles in hand and they do have a lot of cars.
Overall be civil to them and they’ll treat you right. It worked for me. :-)

The first time I used C & C was because my car needed a new alternator. My battery had died and that seemed to be the issue. Nick told me the car would be ready, and I picked it up from Sarah the following day. When my car died in the middle of the street in Mount Vernon, I almost died. My vehicle lost all control of steering and the lack of power almost cause many accidents. When I called C&C about this, they informed that they installed a refurbished alternator instead of a brand new one, and told me it was «the same». I told them I wanted my old alternator back and they refused. I arrived at the store and Sarah berated me, stating that I didn’t deserve to have it back. After reading NY State Law assuring her that, Yes, I was entitled to my equipment, Sarah swore, abused, and made me feel ill as a customer. She threatened to call the police during her harassing diatribe. Sarah also called her tow driver and told him to threaten me to leave the store. I have recorded this as well on my cell phone. When Nick arrived at the store, he told me to get lost. After I asked for my money back, he begrudgingly returned it, and told me to leave, along with my old alternator. I told him I would never come back.
This place is rude to customers and scams people with faulty equipment. As a AAA Member of many years, I am shocked that this company is still contracted for services. Buyers Beware. Stay Away. There are plenty of better, ethically companies with integrity in New Rochelle.

Wife’s battery was completely dead and car in our driveway. Called AAA and they sent C & C Auto Repair. Within 20 minutes on Sunday night the guy was here, polite and professional got the car running right away, assessed we needed a new battery (which we had already an appointment for). Gave us a few tips for getting it running the next morning.

I started using C & C as my mechanic 3 years ago because my old shop in Pelham was charging way too much and raising their prices every year. I am writing this review because I became upset when I read a couple bad reviews and I want Unilocal users to get the real facts. Nick is a good, competent and honest mechanic. Moreover, he is old school. He goes out of his way to be helpful. Because I am a regular customer, he fixes flats and installs headlights for free. If I am in a rush and need a repair or inspection done quickly, Nick always accomodates me. I also need to mention his daughter Sara, who helps him run the shop and even does some mechanical work. She is smart and quick and possesses a lively personality. This is a real family business. The other mechanics in the shop have been consistently good. The prices are reasonable. I recommend C & C.

Their roadside assistance (through AAA) showed up in just a little over an hour on a rainy rainy Sunday night. The gentleman changed my tire quickly and was very courteous and concerned that I stayed warm and dry. Very nice service. Thank you.

C&C Auto Repair were great… You cannot find trustworthy mechanics these days that are not trying to rip you off. C&C saved me hundreds of dollars off a dealership repair quote. I was prepared to stay all day, but my car was worked on and finished within 1.5 hours. I can’t express how happy I am to have found this shop. I’m located in Manhattan, but will gladly travel up North to them if ever I need their services again.
Update: I recommended them to a family friend. The following week she told me her car was back to normal and she couldn’t have been happier.

Stay away from C&C. They scam customers. I used my AAA membership because my car broke down and needed a tow. AAA called C&C because they were the closest tow company. When the driver of the tow for C&C arrived he tried hard to get me to tow my car to C&C. I kept telling him no, I had a repair shop already and just needed it to be towed to my repair shop, not C&C. After 5 ridiculous minutes of this imbecile haggling with me he got in the truck and towed my car.
I then got a ride and followed this tow truck driver to the repair shop. He took me all over Westchester just to get to my shop. When we arrived he told me the tow was $ 150.00. I then told him I had AAA and it was covered. The tow truck driver told me it was not covered because it exceeded the AAA tow limit. I told and showed this imbecile that I had AAA Plus which covers 100 miles for a tow. He then said AAA did not tell him anything and that I was still required to pay. After I threatened to call the police, the tow truck driver said it was his mistake and that I would not need to pay. I called his boss later that day but the boss did not seem to care.
STAY AWAY from C&C.

Great place. Honest, friendly, patient, and they do a great job. Well worth the 16 mile drive from NY City. Pep Boys had previously failed me on the NY State inspection without explaining why. Nick got me through the inspection by fixing the check engine light and only charged the inspection fee. Pep Boys had told me I needed to get my transmission rebuilt immediately (a very expensive repair). Nick said that I would have to get it done eventually, but there was no immediate need to do it. He patiently explained everything he did. They’ve won me as a loyal customer. I finally found a decent mechanic. I was beginning to think there weren’t any in the NY City area.

Found them through the AAA website and wasn’t sorry. The repair was so simple that they didn’t charge us anything. How more honest can you get?
