The College of New Rochelle

I have spent my summer on this campus for an education program and I could not be happier. The admissions staff and other people walking around campus are SOOO helpful! They are so nice and everybody really enjoys being there. The buildings are beautiful and the campus takes security very seriously and makes sure everything is very safe on campus.
I recommend this school and I like it. The nature around is beautiful, it is also very close to the metro north station.

The stone buildings rise up, noble and mysterious around me as I walk through the tall trees and velvety fields of grass. Squirrels and birds lippety among succulent blades and I watch their antics with fascination. I’ve never seen a bird, or a squirrel for that matter, graze before. I wonder if I could convince them to come and clean my dorm room if I sang prettily enough. The old chapel is an enigma itself with towering organ pipes and Victorian pews. Holy water sits in glass bowls atop stone pedestals. I can almost hear the Latin prayers ghosting through the still air. During these hot summer nights I sit outside on one of the many wooden benches and marvel at the flickering lights of fireflies, a real novelty for a California girl and one I never tire of. The dorms make me feel like the prim Catholic school girl that I never was with their old wooden desks and creaky floors. In the lobby of my building are wooden phone booths fit for a superhero’s changing room. I want to explore every inch of these old grounds like I was Lara Croft and I’m determined to do so before my stay here is done…

I attended the College of New Rochelle from 1998 – 2002. I was a little skeptical about going there, because the school of arts and sciences is all woman. I am glad that fate brought me to the College of New Rochelle. It was the best college experience for me. The school is small about 2000 students on campus. CNR has a warm environment. The school is Catholic in tradition, which was fine for me because I my primary and secondary schools were both Catholic schools. The school was very diverse and fun! There are so many activities to get involved in, so you will definitely find something you like. About the all girl factor, there are three other schools on campus that are not all woman (the school of nursing, the graduate school and the school of new resources), so you see men on campus and in some of your classes. I could not have asked for a better college experience, attending the College of New Rochelle has given me wisdom for life!!!
