Atmosphere: Laid back. Service: Sal, the owner, is consistently warm and gracious. We really enjoy him. Customer service by the staff can be a hit-or-miss though. Depends on who you get that day/night. We’ve had really grouchy servers and we’ve also experienced exceptional service. Food: I usually have the chicken parm; have always loved it. Husband loves the calzone. Italian wedding soup is also my favorite. Price: Average Delivery time: So-so. About 40 to 45 mins on average, even though we live really close by. Generally speaking, I like the unpretentious atmosphere and no-frills feel about the place. Good for regular Italian fare. Just don’t expect a Zagat-rated dining experience though. Good place.

I wish I had bulimia. I moved to NSB last September and this place is close to me, but I just got around to trying it. I am giving 2 stars because my servers were very prompt and pleasant. I had a glass of wine, salad, bread and spaghetti and meatballs. The wine was hideously overpriced at 4.50 a glass and I don’t mind paying double digits for a nice glass of wine. There was a nice sauvignon blanc on the menu, but only by the bottle. I was dining alone, so a whole bottle was not an option, which left me with house wine. I wish there would have been something but house wine by the glass, but the clientele looked like they wouldn’t have known the difference. Salad was cut up romaine, 2 croutons, one slice of plum tomato and a small plastic container of dressing. Oops, forgot the one slice of cucumber. My spaghetti and meatballs came out almost immediately after my salad, so I didn’t have time to finish the salad. The bread was hard little rolls, possibly previously frozen and little plastic packages of butter. The spaghetti was the star of the show in a negative way. There was plenty of it, but I didn’t bother to take my leftovers home. Imagine Franco-American canned spaghetti with a little water added to give it a runny texture and you get the picture. The meatballs were flavorless and the pasta was overcooked. The tomato sauce tasted like it came out of a can. I was unable to discern any seasonings in anything. In fact this may be the first Italian restaurant I have been in where you didn’t smell garlic. I really hate to give a bad review to a small business owner, but I can’t see how this place stays in business, other than their location. I won’t be back.

I live across the street from this place and keep trying to give the restaurant and chance and am disappointed every time. The food is mediocre and the service is horrible. They either ignore you or are rude as hell. The food is not good enough to endure this torture.

Great food! Owner very nice, seated us, checked on us a couple of times, too. Wait staff very polite even though they were quite busy. Food was delicious! Rolls were to die for, salad was fresh, lasagna and pizza were very good. Small place but well worth a try. We will be back!

The owner and servers are wonderful, the atmosphere is very nice. By the time I had eaten there a few times I became aware that the food was not the same quality every time. Sometimes there is 2 cooks in the kitchen, other times just the one younger cook. I had a chicken marsala that was 5 star when the older cook was there but after a lousy sub(with 2 thin slices of ham), a sloppy pizza, a horrible dry chicken parm and another dry chicken marsala I started to wonder if only one of them could cook. Twenty dollars is a lot to pay for dry chicken breasts. And when I called after the sub came with hardly any meat the younger guy was arguing with me telling me whoever made the sub said there more than 2 slices of meat… yeah, that’s why I called you to complain because I had nothing better to do…

Real Italian — «Sal», that is. The owner here has never heard of online reviews, but he cares about his customers, his employees and his food. My family has been greeted warmly by the owner every time we’ve returned to NSB, not because we were remembered after a year or more away, but because he always cares. The food is no more perfect than anywhere else, but it’s reliably good and worth the bill. Highlights: several good beers on tap, wine too, garlic knots in a lake of garlic butter, good pizza crust, kind staff. Risk it.

I’ve really wrestled with the rating in this one! We’ve come to NSB for the past few years and have enjoyed Touch of Italy regularly. So this year when we arrived, the call we made for take-out seemed easy. Um, nope. Worst. Pizza. Ever. No kidding, worse than any frozen fundraiser pizza I’ve ever suffered through. What can I say positive? The Italian salad dressing was great. The pizza was virtually inedible. I would have guessed that they had s takeout order from hours(maybe days) earlier that hadn’t been picked up. The crust was dry. And hard. And flavorless, with not enough sauce or cheese to help redeem it. Honestly, previous visits have been 4+ worthy, but this was less than 1. Settling in a 3 for the many good times, but the ill effect of regency. Play it safe, eat in!

We live in NSB first time to go to Touch Of Italy. Should have gone sooner! Wife had pepperoni pizza slice ¼ of large pizza and it was super big and tasty. Great price, nice, nice, nice! I had chicken Parmesan and what a great big meal! No room to eat the hot rolls that were served. Food is fresh and perfectly seasoned. Not overly spicy at all. Just the way I like it. The chicken was breaded and fried nicely and baked with tons of cheese and the spaghetti was tender and plentiful. Sweet tea was great. We ate a late lunch as usual and were seated and served quickly and pleasantly. Do yourself a favor and head on over there. We are returning soon!

Called two times in a weekend. First time was for pizza. Delivery was quick and friendly. The pizza was hot and quite good. Second night was for a complete dinner. I’m not a food critic, but I thought it was quite good. Again, delivery was quick and the food was hot. I’ll be using them again.

Mediocre pizza paired with horrible customer service. Unfortunately, this evening was the first and last time I bring my business to Touch of Italy. I called ahead and ordered one cheese pizza for take out and was told it would be ready in 40 – 45 minutes; realizing it is a Saturday evening on a holiday weekend I expected to wait such a lengthy amount of time. I arrived at the restaurant about 50 minutes after I called expecting my pizza to be ready, instead the cashier dismissively told me it would be a few more minutes. After patiently waiting another 40 minutes in the nonexistent waiting area, I finally received my pizza. When I got home and opened the box ten minutes later, I found an oily, crusty cheese mess. Each time a slice was taken from the box half of the cheese didn’t come with it. I understand the restaurant was busy; but the cashier could have given me a reasonable time estimate as to when I should arrive for pick up, as well as be a little more sympathetic instead of giving me death stares from behind the counter. Needless to say, I will never return here.

I ordered a large cheese pizza and two large salads one chef and a Caesar. The Pizza had delectable Crust just the right amount of sauce with robust herbs, and Perfect amount of Yummy Cheese. Caesar Salad is Crispy Romaine with shredded Parmesan cheese croutons and perfect amount of Caesar dressing. The tossed salad was the same crisp lettuce. Over all Sals Touch of Italy is just that like a trip to a real life Italian restaurant in Italy, except you don’t have to leave New Smyrna Beach. Delectable Yummy, best Italian Restaurant in NSBFL you simply most also try the Deserts I had the chocolate cake it was delicious and the cheese cake was very good too. You may have to wait on your food but it’s worth the wait in my opinion. I would recommend my friends try it out it’s very good. Sals Place has Awesome Italian food. None of that fake crust. It’s simply a great place.

The worst. Ordered take-out, on a Tuesday, from our condo 100 yards away(I can see the restaurant from here) and it took them 2 ½ hours to deliver it. Mind you, I had to call them twice during the process. Then, when the delivery boy showed up, our pizza was cold — did you get lost on the one minute commute? So we walked the pizza back to the restaurant and asked for a new one. They were glad to cook us a new pizza so we brought pizza #2 back to the condo. However, when we went to eat it, the cheese slid right off the pizza, leaving me with a pile of cheese on my plate and the crust in my hand. I took the box of «pizza» and launched it off the balcony. Couldn’t make this up if I tried. I will be not recommending Touch Of SHITaly to anyone.

Don’t bother. Ordered a Sicilian pizza well done with a large Greek salad last night –to go… I got home and realized the pizza was not cooked and they never gave me salad dressing.

Tastey but sloppy pizza. Actually, very unacceptable. I ordered from this spot based on the reviews. Ordered the 16″ special and the 10″ cheese. The cheese was good. The special was tasty but in serious need of a makeover. The special came in sooooo mushy in the middle and watery. It definitely was special. I called to complain and was told«That’s how we make it unless you tell us you want it extra crispy». What!!! Totally unacceptable answer. That’s not even an answer. It’s a cop out. They continued to say that«when you put toppings on the pizza it gets soggy». Lmao!!! What!!! So I had to go there as much as I hate too but I had to tell her, «look I come from NY and order veggies on my pizza plenty of times and my pizza doesn’t come out soggy and wet.» I was then told that they«have to cater to all their customers and many like the soggy pizza». At this point I’m annoyed and say, «how about I bring you this pizza and watch all of y’all eat it? I want to see that and see if y’all like the soggy pizza.» Final response was, «we will send you another one but extra crispy and make it right away.» Fine. I decided to say they can have the other one back and she agreed so that her manager can see it. So my basic question is… WHY did I have to go back and forth about my pizza to acknowledge a mistake that clearly is a chronic issue??? Anyway, we got the replacement pizza and got the same thing all over again. Surprised? Not really. Ordering from here again??? Highly unlikely. I won’t lie: the pizza is tasty but it is Sloppy, mushy, messy, and watery in the middle. I picked up my slice and ALL the toppings fell off. I was left with the crust. Great times.

I think the people who work here are what makes this little Italian place special!!! Brought my dog and baby here with friends! My baby wanted my dog who was tied up outside and was crying. A fabulous older Italian guy,(possibly the owner) brought bread and coaxed my baby back to the table! He loved my baby and just made us feel very special! They were so helpful and attentive! Small inside, décor nothing special –but the food. Pizza was good, got supreme and cheese pizza, regular rolls and garlic knots. I can’t say enough about the garlic knots!!! When we make pasta we will order them take out!!! They are incredible! The bread is fresh and chewy etc. can tell huge difference from store bought!!! Altogether great experience!

I’ve been here several times nothing horrible here just average Italian fare. I will say the«garlic knots» are awesome they helped get us through the long wait for our dinners the server told us the kitchen was slow when we ordered. I really don’t want to hear that it’s not my problem this is not a place I want to wait an hour to get my food. From the reviews I’ve read the food is hit or miss as is the service and I agree. I guess our dinner wasn’t that bad or it tasted better than it really was because of the long wait. I was a little disappointed our last visit this is not a place I would go out of my way to visit, I guess with all the condos they have enough turnover in customers they can get away with mediocre.
