I have stopped in here several times as I really do like LJS chicken, but this particular LJS is very slow service and mistakes are routinely made. I have had items left out and the hushpuppies really do need to be worked on, As much as I like LJS, I will be driving on by from now on.

I guess never again isn’t necessarily never again for me when it comes to my LJS and I must say they greatly improved since January. I went inside instead of the drive-thru as I realize this gives me more time to really look at the menu and also if there is a problem with my order I can address it right there as I’ve been burned too many times at the drive-thru. I noticed they really condensed their menu and they no longer have the craver packs or multiple combination platters/combos/meals like they did in the past. This particular night it was packed and some people left as they didn’t want to wait on the long line. I was glad I did as the food was very good. I had the fish and shrimp platter and added extra shrimp and it was fresh, tasted good and not dried out at all, the hush puppies were not oily and nice and light and the cole slaw was probably the best I ever had from that location. I didn’t have to wait too long for my order and for once they got it right! So I’m glad I went back to give them yet another try, I just hope they keep up the good work. Consistency is everything!

Have went twice to this establishment both times using the drive thru. Apparently fish takes awhile to cook cause you wait and wait. Both trips I ordered from the long johns combo menu and I kid you not, they kept asking what are you ordering??? I repeated an L-8, finally a manager took order which was fine but of course order was completely wrong. Really cant say either trip was worth it.

I was so thrilled to find a Long John Silvers restaurant in operation. I printed out some coupons from their website or Facebook, can’t remember which and got two of the fried fish platters with hush puppies and two side orders. The restaurant had lots of televisions but it was not too loud. The lighting was sort of dim which is not what I am used to but I guess they want a romantic ambiance. My husband was thinking he could wait at the counter for his order but this stuff is not really fast food. The order did take a while to be done but I must say, the onion rings I ordered and the fish were amazing. I had gotten some fried fish at Arthur Treachers in a Nathan’s restaurant and it was terrible. This fish was thick, moist and flaky, the batter was perfect. The place was probably understaffed because the gal behind the counter could not come out and refill the ketchup pump on the condiment bar. We used cocktail sauce instead of ketchup. The cole slaw was in a sealed plastic tub and it was KFC slaw as they also sell Kentucky Fried Chicken here. I wanted to get a hot drink like coffee or tea because it was unusually chilly outside and since they only had cold fountain drinks, we skipped ordering a drink.
