Sebastian Cardona – Bond New York

I haven’t seen a review for Sebastian since 2013, and I feel I really need to write one.
I moved to the city from the midwest in 2011. My roommate at the time, and I, were in dire need of finding a new apartment as our current one was a terrible place and run by slumlords. In a period of 2 weeks, we easily viewed 12 – 15 places. All of them just not what we were looking for and many of them dumps due to our price point. The search was even made worse because we were not used to the fast-​pace of apartment hunting in the city. We were stressed, anxious, everyone was trying to take advantage of us, and most evenings we ended up tears. We found a place that was «okay» and the real estate place we gave $ 500 to, to hold the apartment, were just shady in general.
On a whim, even after we paid money on a place because we were desperate and getting down to the wire, we thought we would go for one more apartment run.
It was an apartment Sebastian showed us. He was soooooo laid back that we didn’t know whether or not to be nervous or if it was another shady agent. He showed us this AWESOME 2 bedroom in another part of Astoria, within our price range, and in an 8-​unit building that had been gutted and completely renovated. We were the very first tenants in that apartment unit in the building!
What made Sebastian even better was his attitude. We saw the apartment on a Sunday, and we knew the minute we saw it, we wanted the apartment. Unfortunately, because it was a Sunday, my former roommate and I were in 120% panic mode because we couldn’t get the full amount of money for the 1-​month rent down payment to hold the place. I don’t know if he could tell we were NYC apartment hunting newbies, he could tell we could be trusted, or what I think — he is just a genuinely honest and nice guy, he told us that he would hold the apartment for us with the owners and to get him the money «whenever.» We were so grateful that I personally withdrew the money that next day and probably annoyed him with all of the e-​mails/​phone calls to meet up to sign the paperwork and give him the money. What we also appreciated is he went the extra mile. Because we were a new building, he actually worked with the landlords/​building owners to make sure certain things were fixed, filled in, cleaned, etc before we got there. We couldn’t believe it. He did all of this to help us out and go the extra miles!!!
I would absolutely go with Sebastian again. I also recommend him to my friends in the city and coworkers. Here it is 2015 and we are STILL in the same apartment he showed us years ago. If we ever need to find a new place in the future, there is no doubt that we will be calling him within the next minute after making that decision. I also HIGHLY recommend him to anyone who is a NYC transplant. He made the real estate experience sooooo much easier and lower stress.
I cannot say enough about this guy. He is worth the one-​month rent fee that he costs.

5 years of living in this city is love and hate. Finding an apartment has always been nothing but hate for me… until recently…
I could NOT have made it through this process, sanely, without Sebastian! All of my questions were answered… either right away or after he secured ALL of the necessary info. Great attitude and and so easy to work with! When I told him I needed some more time to make my move he said he’d be there when I was ready… and I’m sure he will be!
