Team LM/​LR were quick, friendly, and very assuring that they could do the job without any issues. would totally use them again. Best part is that I booked it two days ago instead of other places that you need to book a month in advance.

Situation: junking a bunch of old clothes and miscellaneous household items in preparation for a move out of state (small 1 bedroom, walk-​up, 3.5 stairs). I’m not junking any significant furniture (couch or bed) — just a coffee table, dresser, old computers, and bunch of large garbage bags.
I found them on Unilocal,saw the glowing recommendations, and ordered the service.
The good: they do same-​day booking, which was convenient for me. They did successfully remove junk from my apartment and did not damage the walls on the way out.
Here are the areas where they had problems in my case:
Scheduling: My original schedule was ~12pm and ~2:30pm. The driver called and said he could come early ~10am, I said yes. He called me 30m later and said he got another job and he’ll be back during the original time. Sounds fine to me. The scheduled time is almost over — no show, no call. I call the driver and he say he thought I ‘cancelled’. Weird; says he’ll be over in 30m. Shows up sometime later and says that I have a full load (~$ 1,000). I’m not so sure, but I tell him that’s fine, we’ll review it once he’s done. He says his truck is too full so he has to go to Brooklyn, dump the contents and come back, which will take ~90m. I agree. Shows up sometime later and starts junking. Took them around ~1h. Done around 6pm. As you can see, I was stuck between 10am and 6pm working with the service; which is not ideal.
Cost: The cost ranges from ~200 to ~1,000 for a full truck. The driver thought he had a full truck; once he finished it was only ½ full. He then went into the truck came back with a ¾ full receipt (~850). Claimed his boss was unhappy because his boss thought he was getting a full truck. Keep in mind that it cost me ~1,800 to move the rest of the house (non-​junk), including furniture, from NY to CA. I knew/​thought I was paying a premium for this service but after this experience, I would say that the company’s services are not priced correctly. I would pay same/​higher for a better provider.
They did call me after the move to get my feedback. That gives them the additional star, as they are attempting to improve.

I’m a small business owner in Manhattan. While I’m not sure about the being the cheapest, maybe getting what you pay for is true with junk removal too.
Extremely fast, I was surprised when they said they’d be out in 30 minutes — not the next day, not the next week, not totally booked for three months (common NYC issues) — but 30 minutes.
I was more surprised when they arrived on time. I had a issue which required me to leave the location of the junk but they were very honest and professional with taking my payment over the phone and giving me an expensive, yet fair price.
(Keep in mind in Manhattan there are some fines that cost more than a simple call to 800 got junk!)
What pushed me to write the review is I ran into a got junk employee in the building a few weeks later while they were cleaning out an apartment. I asked if he was the one who had gone to my business on the ground floor and he was. He took time to pause his work and ask me if I had been satisfied with their job, and told me they always are fast and can be called 7days a week. Not only did he genuinely care about the prior work he performed, he cared about making sure customer needs had been met.

We could not have had a better experience with the team at 1−800-GOT-JUNK! Fast, professional, and fairly priced — they exceeded every expectation that we had for using the service and made our moving day incredibly easy.
The team arrived early and got to work right away on removing our unwanted items. If a piece needed to be demolished, they’d follow up afterwards by cleaning the debris (a huge help, since we were in the process of packing our vacuum). They were in and out in less than an hour. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Staff was punctual and professional. The minimum price in Manhattan is over 200 dollars, so make sure you get a rough estimate first.

I had quite a bit of old furniture/​miscellaneous objects I needed to get rid of and I’m so happy with the service they provided. I booked last minute and got a confirmation call for my pickup date. Everything was moved out quickly– they were in and out within 30 minutes!

I did quite a bit of research to have junk removed from my fifth floor walk up apartment in downtown Manhattan. Many services I called had a «walk up fee» which at one company was as high as $ 100 per floor per man.
1 – 800 Got Junk not only had a very reasonable pricing system (price is based on how much junk fits in their truck), I found the customer service to be fantastic and everything went as seamlessly as I could have ever dreamed of.
I also just want to comment that the men who helped me clear out my apartment, Shawn and Carlos, were friendly, efficient, and beyond professional. They never even mentioned what a pain it must have been going up and down my stairs, and the quote I was given over the phone actually came out to less after the job was complete.
I recommend this company 100% — the price, professionalism, and customer service were all stellar and I’m glad to have found them.

I have used this service 2x’s already and I was very happy with everything. They showed up on time and it was the most affordable when I researched. They quickly came in and got rid of everything like magic. I would recommend this service to anyone that needs to get rid of things and doesn’t want to deal with trying to dump it themselves with all these coop rules on recycling and all that madness they do it all for you.

This is a great company. I was able to schedule a pick up on short notice. Their customer support is also fantastic. The day before my pick I called to change my contact information and they were very helpful and professional. Nashon and Phillip were both great. They were on time and had the furniture out of my apartment in only a few minutes. I will definitely use them again the next time I need furniture removed.

There was massive traffic in NYC thanks to the UN and Obama — as a result the guys were a couple hours late — But what I appreciated was the fact they called 3 hours ahead to lmk they were gonna be late, and then, because of the delay, the doubled up the crew. All friendly and efficient entire process was simple.
My first crew was run by Victor and the 2^nd was 2 brothers, twins I think. Started with an A — for Awesome.

WARNING! They charge $ 100 for every floor above the 2^nd floor. Such a scam for NYC where many people live in walk ups. Quick service but extremely disappointing in the pricing.

they never showed up. I called the office twice to confirm and was told they were on the way, but they NEVER turned up.
