This was an okay place to eat and drink, but overall, the service was not the greatest. It was a long time for them to give me my food. It took them like over 3 mins. Like, I was in a big rush.

Oh yes I am Unilocaling a coffee cart. Why? It is Just. That. Good. I have lived in this neighborhood for nearly four years. I’ve watched mom-and-pop stores get replaced with mammoth high-rise apartment buildings. Columbia University is slowly extending its reach, sending prices up and driving out middle-class residents who can no longer afford the rents. Yet one thing has remained constant: I can always rely on my coffee cart guys for a warm smile, a piping hot cup of coffee with French Vanilla creamer and two Splenda, and egg whites and cheese on a roll — all for $ 3. These guys don’t ask twice if I’m short $ 1(I’ll get them next time) and if I go there after 12 p.m., they’ll reward me with free lamb that they’ve been cooking for the lunchtime rush. This meat is so flavorful that my boyfriend is now addicted to the swarma. So spoiled are we that we get depressed on Sunday mornings, knowing our friends with the magical cart have the day off. After all, where else can we get so much for so little? It’s friendly, hard-working guys like this that manage to keep a little flavor in the neighborhood. Let’s just hope they don’t get replaced by a cart selling sweatshirts that say«Columbia Dad».
