110 Street Cathedral Parkway B/C Subway Station

One of the cleaner subway stations on the C line, 110^th street is certainly a nice new stop to call home.
Walking along the windy path that runs pseudo-​parallel to the North end of Central Park every morning is a great way to start the day (pretty sure we can all agree on that); moving from east to west, one is treated to great views of the Harlem Meer, the North Woods, and the beautiful entrance at 110^th and Central Park West. Hidden away just along the park side of the street is one of the rare entrances to the subway that one doesn’t have to cross a street to access (you have to go all the way down to Columbus Circle to find another like it). The station itself must have been recently renovated, as it is exceptionally clean by NYC subway standards. The tiles are all glistening white, the platform is surprisingly free of vomit stains, and it doesn’t even smell like urine. That’s a win if you ask me. The only qualm I really have with the place is the lack of entrances. If you want to get onto a north bound train, you are forced to walk to the 109^th street entrance I describe above; while gorgeous, it does force you to walk all the way down the platform if you want to be on the front of the train (which of course I do). If you’re on a downtown train, you can get off in the back, but you are then left on the far side of the circle (if your journey is to the park), as there is no exit on the east side of the street.
All in all it is a truly nice station, no major complaints here (aside from laziness, but that’s on me, not the guys who built this station 110 years ago); Five stars for cleanliness, three for the lack of entrances.
