As a hotel, it’s a 3 star, it’s good value for money and you simply can not beat the location, but obviously lacks in amenities. However, as a venue for events it’s 5 stars all the way. The solarium has excellent views of St Patricks, the food selection and quality is excellent, they provide more than enough food for their events. Their catering staff is amazing, their staff at the events are very professional, value for money in NYC is hard to beat. I’ve celebrated 2 big life events here and won’t hesitate to return to them again.

I don’t usually write reviews but feel compelled to here. It’s a good value for the location BUT: 1– The heat was form a radiator that we were unable to turn down. So even though the heat was welcome with the cold weather, it was steaming in the room! Couldn’t blow dry my hair, sleep comfortably, etc. 2– The bathroom was not clean 3– The hotel is owned by The National Republican Women’s club, which they leave off of the website. There are ladies wearing mink coats running around saying«welcome to our home.» 4– They have a dress code of no jeans, etc. but also fail to mention this on the website. They instruct anyone wearing inappropriate clothing to use«the service entrance.» Um… We were dressed very nicely(suits and dress) but the elitist odes to history were a bit much to take, especially when the hotel wasn’t nice enough to warrant any kind of dress code. 5– They have one front desk clerk and if they leave the desk they LOCKTHEENTRANCETOTHEHOTEL. Which is quite the surprise when you come home at night and find yourself locked out and wondering if it’s possible to get back in. Came back after we rang the door a few times, but gosh sakes — hire more staff! Won’t be staying here again.

One should never let politics get in the way of a TERRIFICVALUE! My stay at 3 West was outstanding and I cannot recommend it enough to all my friends, regardless of political affiliation. The best thing is the value v. the location. Across from Radio City, 5 Blocks from Central Park, Times Sq., etc. For under $ 250 a nite, you would figure there would be a catch. Nope, not here. Staff was courteous and very helpful. Room was small as expected(it is midtown, folks) but clean, charming in a 19th century sorta way, and most importantly, really quiet. That’s what struck me the most. I could actually sleep in comfortably in the city that never sleeps. Really nice bed and the shower and hot water were also really great! Only one problem: the elevator. There’s only one and considering all the banquet work, it can take a really long time because staff and patrons share. If that’s the worst thing about the place, you know it’s a winner. I didn’t check out the lounge as I am from SF and don’t consider things like dress code when traveling. Ba-dup-bum! Seriously tho’, great place and will definitely be back!

This is a review for the hotel portion of the National Republican Women’s Club(3 West Club): We stayed here in the hotel for a few nights & it was fairly nice. I actually liked the room better than the ones at the NYAC(another city club) & the rate was at a much better price. The bed was comfortable & everything was very clean. It was a little cold & the elevators need a serious update since they take FOREVER. It is an old, historic building in NY& so they do not have a central air or heating system in the guest rooms. Instead, they have window units, so it can get a little drafty. I had kept calling the operator to get extra blankets & pillows, but I guess since it is a small hotel(only 15 – 20 rooms) they don’t keep a member of the staff at all hours to bring items to guests rooms. The person at the front desk took us to another room & let us take a blanket & pillows from there. I liked that there was free internet. We just had to get an ethernet cord at the front desk & plugged it into our laptop. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that they charged us an extra $ 10 to check out like 30 minutes later than the check out time. We had called a few hours earlier to see if we could have a late check out since we were running behind on getting ready & they said only for $ 10. I thought this was absurd as I have NEVER had a hotel charge for a late check out since it’s only an hour or two later anyways.

This venue has a classic upscale ambiance of a almost forgotten era. With the warm, welcoming, friendly, attentive, focused and obviously well trained staff, its no question as to why they have been around for all these years. Last night I was lucky enough to attend a book signing held on the third floor. The selection of appetizers and desserts were delectable and definitely tasty. The Lamb Chops and Crab Cakes are scrumptious. Hope to venture back to this location soon.

We held my daughter’s wedding at 3 West Club on October 4, 2013. If you are looking for a beautiful, elegant, reasonably priced venue… this is the place. I cannot sing the praises of 3 West Club high enough. From the first meeting to the last note from the DJ at the reception, 3 West Club was perfect. They accommodated our every wish, Veronica was amazing, and our guests are still talking about the fresh seafood bar at cocktail hour. My daughter wanted an old style Manhattan wedding… 3 West Club delivered to perfection. Rose Smith

I came here for a company sponsored event and the staff did a really good job to make sure every one was attending to with hors d’ourves and that all empty glasses and places were removed from our hands immediately. The hours d’ourves were pretty good and the self serve food was good as well. The atmosphere and décor is a bit old but for some odd reason is works well with everything they have.

I was a little disappointed that this ended up being a 3 star experience, but that’s the way it goes sometimes. This was meeting for a company function. The coordinator I was working with left the company in the middle of the planning, and I was immediately assigned to someone else. She was very nice and fairly responsive during the planning times, but once I was on-site, she was MIA. I was there two days before the meeting, and I never saw her. In fact, I didn’t see her until the meeting had been underway on the third day for 2 and a half hours. I did meet with her assistant on the first day, and fortunately, most of the details had been taken care of in advance, so I wasn’t in a total panic. The solarium, while it had a great view of St. Patrick’s cathedral and an ok one Radio City Music Hall, was almost on the dingy side. The patio, which we used from 8am until about 5pm, had old lime wedges from a previous event, which we just shoved to the side of the ground. The tablecloths were clearly old, there were rips and wear and tear and they just didn’t look nice. The inside floor of the Solarium was also dirty. I spilled some coffee, and when I went to clean it up with a tissue so no one slipped on it, I also came up with a ton of grime! Guess the floors hadn’t been mopped in awhile. Yuck. My other complaint was the elevator situation. There are only two, and one is clearly a service elevator, and smelled of old grease and mop water, and should be locked for service use only. It was covered in ripped blankets and I thought I was in the wrong one when I got in, but it was operational all day, and several of our meeting guests ended up in it. The other one was much nicer and more fitting for the executive meeting we were hosting. The customer service was very good during the event, and on the two occasions I used the kitchen during my personal stay. The place is historic and has some neat quirks. The food was also excellent. Just wish it would’ve been a nicer meeting room experience.

good day, I do declare, ol chap! pip pip, cheerio! let us adjourn to the library, drink brandy, and discuss this news from the Prussian consulate in Siam! if there’s any place where dashing gentlemen(and esteemed ladies) would do so, 3 West seems like the joint. I came here for a meeting last night and was quite impressed with the space and services we were provided. the Lincoln room is good for a small reception. not too cramped but not oversized; I’d say cap at about 40 – 50 before it gets packed here. bright walls decked out with paintings of Abe and other historical scenes/figures. the Library is baller. statues, an interesting collection of literature, paintings, perfect lighting, AND A FIREPLACE. it’s the kind of room every proper house needs. you can fit a surprising amount of people in here if you’re there for a lecture(which was more of the style of our meeting) — we had about 30 and it was still comfy. Ron Burgundy definitely has a library like this! food was, overall, pretty good. cheese, veggies, and bruschetta platter — decent. the penne was kind of dried out, but the tricolor tortellini was great; soft and swimming in a great creamy sauce. the duck spring rolls were not soggy, but nice and crispy. service at the bar was good. it was a bit odd that there was no bathroom on our floor, which meant riding down the elevator to the lobby to use those bathrooms. then again, perhaps it was behind a hidden wall and I hadn’t pulled out the correct book… I’ll be back, perhaps with a top hat and monocle. cheerio!

I went here to deliver a lecture about my website, American Rattlesnake, and came away from the experience very impressed. The event was well-catered, hospitality and food exceptional. The building was stately but not ostentatious. Plus, the elevators worked! Three West has a lot to recommend it, and seems like a great venue for formal events.

Attended an event here this weekend in the second floor ballroom. Room was really nice and the chandeliers were awesome. Speakers were terrible and feedback was bothersome. Cookies were surprisingly good. Bathroom was AWFUL. I can only speak for the mens restroom but unless you enjoy looking at brown solids on the toilet seat and bathrooms out of hand soap, DONOT use the toilets here.

I came here for a lecture. I was in the 3rd floor ballroom, which is really pretty — not over the top but more intimate than a wedding hall. Very classic and classy. The bartenders I spoke with were really professional and sweet. They did not skimp on the alcohol! I love that the lobby is full of lilies! It’s a nice touch.

We held a 75th Birthday cocktail party here recently, and stayed overnight in one of the rooms. The staff were extremely attentive and professional– and the last minute requests and glitches were fixed in a flash. The food was top-notch and the bartender and wait-staff were working hard throughout the event, under the watchful eye of the managerial staff. The guest room was cozy, but clean, well-kept and very very affordable considering you’re only steps away from Rockefeller Center and St. Patrick’s Cathedral! Check this place out — it’s a little gem.
