I don’t get why this gets the ratings it does but maybe it’s people from out of town and fancy this kind of eatery. But the many times I’ve gotten various platters of food from them, was usually out of desperation and lack of choice at the particular hour in the night. That being said, there’s usually a line and to boot, I honestly think the food is always way too salty. And I always ask to have the sauce on the side or less sauce. The last time I ate there I also gotten sick so that was the last time I ordered something from them. There’s definitely something to be said about food trucks not having grading like all the other NYC restaurant establishments. I would be curious to know if any of them can /will pass with a decent grade!

We tried many carts but this guy hands down was the best chicken & rice of them all. When you go there, tell him to make it just like the way he’d like it. He’ll hook you up.

Having spent a weekend in NYC and eating at both fancy places and not so fancy places, I do have to say my favorite food was the felafel on rice at this cart. Warm rice and seemingly fresh felafel with white and red sauce on a cold Saturday night: what more could you ask for? At 5 bucks, the quality, quantity and overall efficiency of this type of meal is fantastic. You do realize that in most cities you’d have to actually make an effort to find a middle eastern restaurant to find food like this? Ya’ll New Yorkers are spoiled.

I had a gyro here the other day and was pleasantly surprised. The meat was good and had a nice crisp to it, but I must say the stand out of this cart is the hot sauce, it is super good and hot. I will be coming back here for lunch, at $ 4 you can’t go wrong.

Came here when I was searching for a chicken and rice cart by my work, and after reading all the positive Unilocal reviews, decided to give it a shot. The person at this cart was very grumpy, as if he didn’t want anyone to buy his food. Finally after I got him to speak, I decided to order the lamb and rice. It was ok. Not too spicy or flavorful.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, people! Check yo-self! This is not a special halal cart. The only thing special about it would be the location if anything. I’ve tried both the chicken platter and the sandwich, and they were bland and ordinary. So dump on the white and hot sauces if you want to taste anything!

The combination platter(rice, salad– chopped lettuce, tomato, onion– grilled chicken and lamb with hot sauce and white sauce) for $ 5.50 is an inspired choice for a filling and hearty mid-town lunch. Curse inflation– this gem used to be $ 5 not long ago. Alas, we all must pay the bills. update 3÷1÷09 Big recession benefit– lunch is back down to $ 5. Pocket that $.50 for a rainy day.

HALALHALALHALAL… NY has gone HALAL Crazy. I love it. You can now get a hot dog, and/or a halal shis kabob served in a hot dog bun. Who does that??? Who does that??? I saw them on every corner, one trying to differetiate itself from the other. Some stated they had falafels, but I never saw one. You could order meat over rice, in a hot dog bun, or plain. Awesome. Even AwesomeR at 1145PM. I had a chicken, while my pal ordered a beef kabob. It was awesome and a nice twist to a hot dog. I loved it… and can’t wait for the trend to come to San Jose. Cheap eats indeed. Cheap eats! Check out my pics!

I went to a street cart for the first time a couple days ago and was disappointed. But after hearing about how one cart can be dramatically different from another I decided to try my luck with this one. I have to say that I am very happy I did. $ 4.50 for lamb over rice and it was amazing. Well, better than the other cart anyway. I liked this one so much I went here for lunch 2 days in a row. First day was chicken over yellow rice. It was good but the chicken was lacking in flavor, although the rice was very good. The next day I went with 3 other people from my office after I told them I ate here and they were surprised to see me still alive. I got the lamb over yellow rice and was blown away. I never thought you could find such a great meal for only $ 4.50(besides my favorite deli). My coworkers loved it too. Well, not one of them, but she got red sauce on accident and that can change the taste drastically. Personally I love both the red and the white sauce. And lots of it. This place has even inspired me to start a list and try and find the best lamb over rice from a street cart.
