57th St Greenmarket

Too small to be satisfying. The only reason why I come here is if I’m desperate for Meredith’s Bread and their incredible Chocolate Lace cookies, and don’t want to trek further for them.

This greenmarket spans one block, 9^th Ave between 56^th and 57^th St, but you can find just about everything you need. The market is open on Wednesdays from May through December, and Saturdays from mid-​April through December, from 8am to 6pm. It’s a fairly small market with baked goods, dairy products, plants/​flowers, and several stalls of fruits/​vegetables, but I haven’t seen any meat/​butchers here. However, a great market to stop by if you’re running errands in the area. They also do demos and give out samples — I had a great panzanella here recently made with fresh and local ingredients. Credit cards accepted, too!
