Feel like I’ve been scammed… We were in NY to visit for the weekend and we decided to use a parking app in order to find the best place. After some research and rates online, we settled on this place, 9 – 11 park. The location is on the east side but near 34th, so it makes for an easy walk to msg and midtown. When we pulled the car in, we were quoted a rate which is entirely different than what we saw online. When we told them that we had seen the lower rate online, they asked us to show them, which we did. Smart phones make life easy… At that point, the manager told us we were fine and we parked the car and went on our way. After returning to get the car later, there was now only 1 person left running the garage. It wasn’t late by any means, but it was kind of odd to see only 1 person working on a saturday afternoon. After waiting about 10 minutes for the 1 person to help the others in line in front of us, we stepped up the counter with our ticket to retrieve the car. It was at this point that we were told that we had to pay the full rate. When we told him that we were told that we could have the lower rate, he refused to believe us. Further disappointing was the fact that the rate we found online was no longer being offered by the parking app… since the time was now different, the price being quoted was now the sunday rate. The total price difference was only $ 5 but the whole experience was very disappointing. Given the plethora of parking options in the area(and there are a ton!), I’d say you can find a better option next time you are in town.
