This is a cute place for a date if your date enjoys tea and pastries!(Who doesnt???) It can get booked pretty quickly, so expect a wait if you’re going on a whim. Once you’re seated, the service is quick and the staff is super nice! My GF and I have shared the Mad Hatter twice — it comes with 2 pots of tea, 3 scones, two sandwiches, cookies and one dessert choice. Honestly, it is quite a large amount of food and you can easily come here as your meal. The scones here are amazing! The sandwiches decent, and the cookies were very mediocre. They have a very large selection of tea in many varieties, so I always try a different one when we’re here. Personally really like their White Teas. I recommend the Mocha Cake over the Lemon Tart for your dessert choice. The interior is well-decorated and follows the theme of Alice in Wonderland. Can’t speak for the upstairs seating. They also have two other locations and they seem to be on par with each other(from what I’ve heard).

Came here to use a Groupon.(2 cocktails and $ 10 dessert credit). It was valid for any 2 cocktails and $ 10 worth of desserts from the«sweet treats» section. I went with Alice’s take on the bloody Mary aka the«Red Queen». It was the most intense version of the drink I’ve ever had. Infused with lapsang souchong tea, it tasted like liquid charcoal. Bitterly earthy. Not bad but too overwhelming and I stopped after sipping through half the jar. For food, we order the assorted cookie platter. All 8 cookies were good but adding a cup of ice cream on the side(+$ 3) takes them to another level. At Alice’s Tea cup, it’s one of those experiences where the staff outshines the food. It started from the knowledgeable girl helping a customer in the front with a tea purchase to our wonderful waitress(Libby I believe). I would give 5 stars just for her bubbly personality and service.

Very average brunch. The potatoes were bland and the poached eggs were runny. Cute place to bring a little girl because they sprinkle fairy dust on little kids, but honestly food not worth it.

The food is rather dry, chicken is over cooked and dry and so are their pastries. The tea selection is vast and very enjoyable Ambiance is very cute! This is more a go for the experience, rather than food place or for a cup of tea. Love the theme but wish they would work on their food.

I had a Travelzoo voucher for the Mad Hatter evening tea. I went with the bf on a Wednesday night around 6 pm. You definitely should make a reservation. We were seated upstairs and our server was friendly. We ordered the ham and cheese, the pumpkin glazed and the almond joy scones. For tea sandwiches, we got the salmon and the chicken lapsong. And with the cookies, we got the lemon tart. The variety of teas was crazy. We ordered an Oolong tea that i really enjoyed. The Rooibos was pretty good too. I thought the signature Alice tea was unmemorable. Ham and cheese scone was the clear winner as a savory scone. The almond joy was sweet and chocolatey but just okay. We had an issue with the pumpkin scone but the server was great in trying to reconcile the problem. I wasn’t a fan of either tea sandwiches. The chicken with the goat cheese tasted very medicine-y. We were pretty full on tea but tried a bite of the lemon tart. I was not a fan.

Had a filling and fun breakfast here at Alices Tea Cup Chapter II. We tried the mad morning tea breakfast, which consisted of granola and eggs to share, 2 scones and 2 pots of tea. I tried the pai mu tan(a white tea from china, flowery and nice). I believe they have 101 different kinds of tea to offer. Overall, the food was good. The scones alone were pretty filling and I dont think I’ll need to eat lunch. I tried the mixed berry(with clotted cream) as well as the ham and cheese(with butter). The interior is well decorated just like the other two locations I’ve visited. We saw some little girls dressed up for the fairyland ish breakfast, which was cute. On a Friday morning, we had the upstairs all to ourselves for awhile before the place filled up(around 11am). I think this would be a fun place for groups of friends :-)

YAY for Tea Shops! I popped in here yesterday for research on an article I was writing. I’m 25 years old, and clearly look like an adult but since I was writing an article for kids I maybe sortof INSISTED they treat me as such. The staff was so sweet and took it in stride, which is so great cus that means I got to wear FAIRYWINGS for the duration of the entire meal AND when I arrived they sprinkled«fairy dust» over my head and told me to make a wish. I won’t tell you what my wish was but lets just say I expect certain famous hunk will be arriving on my doorstep ANYMINUTE. I got the jabberwocky which is a BUTTload of food. Three large pots of tea, unlimited scones and sandwiches and an assortment of sweet treats! The tea was FANTASTIC. We got Alice’s Tea, some Organic Ginger Peach tea, and a Champange White tea that had other things I cant remember… But that one was def. my favorite one. Of the sandwiches we tried, I will list them in order of fav to least: BLT, Ham and Gruyère, Smoked Chicken Breast, Curried Chicken Salad, Cucumber and Watercress. I’m not sure how the sandwiches are prepared but its possible to get more or less of the incredients in certain portions. For example, each sandwich comes in three smaller pieces, the BLT had one piece heavy in bacon but no cheese, one mostly tomato, and one low on tomato. It is a LOT of bread and after my first sandwich I took to either taking the top piece off and eating it open face or just leaving bits of bread around on my plate. The scones were great, went with Ham&Cheese, Pumpkin, and Banana, not too dry and went well with the jam/clotted cream! As for desserts I was so full at that point but I only have nice things to say about the mocha chocolate chip cake situation, the frosting is something like my mother used to make and it REALLY brings me back. Loved it! The atmosphere is SO so cute. Loved the upstairs area, gets GREAT light and you can sit next to the window. There are paintings and quotes all over the walls and the china is adorably mismatched in perfect Mad Hatter Tea Party style. I was told when they do parties they have characters come in and face painters etc so it’s got to be SO so cute for that. And they have perfectly proportioned foods and teas for the little tiny ones. Great spot for Mother’s Day coming up too! All in all, will go again. Maybe by myself just for a spot of tea. The food is a LITTLE bland, but there are lots of menu options I’m sure I’ll find something I like a lot more. Staff was so so great and helpful when it came to picking out teas and foods.

On my way to a different shop, I passed by this cute little gem and because it is such trap for people like me, who like cute things(and, obviously tea and snacks and Alice in Wonderland), I just had to check it out. There was a small line despite there only being a few customers. They should have someone attend customers who would like to purchase something to take home(tea leaves, cookies, etc) and someone else seat those who would like to sit down and have a hot cup of tea(…or alcoholic beverage). Then again, it was around 6pm, so maybe it they didn’t think it necessary since it was their off hours. You might think their name fitting to their little restaurant — a strange but cute place that needs to be explored, like Wonderland? They even have some peculiar(but strangely not out-of-place) tables that probably used to be sewing tables/machines. It gave an interesting flair to the place. There is an upstairs but I wasn’t able to check it out. Maybe next time. They have an extensive list of teas with descriptions, including an «unbirthday tea.» It sounded pretty good, but I wanted to try something more fruity. My first choice(peach white tea?) was all out, so the waitress recommended the champagne raspberry white tea instead($ 8 for a pot), which was fairly tasty in itself. I also had the pumpkin scone(glazed with caramel), also recommended by the waitress. Now, I’m not a fan of pumpkin and tend to stay away from things that have«caramel» in their name, but this scone was pretty amazing. I wish they had even smaller servings for people who only want a small snack though, since I didn’t get to finish it and it felt like such a waste. :((please forgive me, dear pumpkin scone) I’d come back again to try their other teas and snacks(giant cookies!), but I think I will try to avoid visiting during the weekends. I don’t know how strongly they enforce it, but there is a supposed 1.5 hr limit on weekends, as well as a minimum of $ 10/person because they say it’s really busy during that time.

The service was so bad before I was even able to sit down that I ended up walking out and not eating here. The hostess at this place on Easter Sunday was very rude and turned me off to this place all together. My friend and I walked in after mass, as they don’t take reservations for parties of 2, and asked what the wait would be. The hostess didn’t acknowledge us for 5 minutes and then said«I need to sit a few groups before I can give you a quote.» So we were left standing in the foyer of this place for another 10 minutes while she ran around the restaurant, us not even knowing if the wait was going to be 20 minutes or 2 hours. The hostess finally comes back, and yells at a customer who was in her way back to the hostess stand. instead of saying excuse me, snaps in the guy’s face and says«HELLODIDYOUNEEDSOMETHING?» so that when she finally got his attention she could get by. Then she quoted a group that came in 5 minutes after us, before us. THEN, finally, about 15 minutes after we walked in, we were granted a quote. 35 minutes. I would’ve totally been willing to wait had the service upon arrival been pleasant, but my friend and I said never mind and had a very nice brunch instead at East Pole 2 blocks away. I will probably never be back at this place. it’s a shame they lost a customer.

Been here a couple of times and lines are always quite long. Definitely overhyped but worth a try. They seem to quiet down a bit around 6 or 7 pm but by then they’re close to closing their kitchen. Decently fresh tea(I’ve tried greens and whites) and good scones! Their Nutella almond chocolate chip scone was my favorite. Crispy and flavorful, it was the perfect balance of flour and flavor. I didn’t really like the pumpkin scone which is raved about on here since i couldn’t really make out the pumpkin so it just tasted dry to me. Would recommend the mad hatter which is a tea+scones+sandwiches+cookies combo if you’re coming here for the first time with a group of people. Overall just a really adorable café decorated with concepts from Alice in Wonderland.

I came here for breakfast, and was seated in the room downstairs. It’s not as nice as the room upstairs, so I’d recommend coming in after 9:30 am to get better seating upstairs. Food was alright. The scone Benedict was awesome! The scone was so buttery and rich. However the pumpkin Scone was too cakey. I thought it was going to be good but it was more like a cake than a scone. Their waffles were cakey and fluffy as well. I usually prefer crispier waffles that are soft on the inside. This place is just alright. Their signature tea, Alice’s tea, is very fragrant though and I would come back for that along with their buttermilk scone.

So, a 12-odd gaggle of us womenfolk descended on Alice’s Tea Cup II one Sunday for brunch. My breakdown: — Atmosphere: Cute, quirky, antique-inspired but not outright Victorian. Straight men might feel a tad out of place at first, but it’s not so effusively feminine that they’ll be looking for the fire exit — Service: Fantastic and friendly, just the way you hope it will go with a large crew of particular women. No, but seriously, our server was incredibly nice and took the time to explain everything, as well as meet everyone’s unique demands. — Food: Tasty a) Alice’s famous granola: Granola infused with Mauritius tea and a generous portion of berries, served with plain or vanilla yogurt or milk. I don’t like granola… and I loved this. Perfectly toasted. b) Scrambled eggs: Creamy, soft and delicious c) Potatoes: Fresh herb seasonings = yum d) Chocolate, pumpkin scone: A tad dry, but the flavor was on point e) Teas: English Breakfast, Inspiration(herbal), Alice’s Blend, Lavender Earl Grey, Hawaiian, Rooibos Coconut: The Hawaiian smelled divine, but the Rooibos Coconut won for sheer flavor As great as everything was, this is definitely not my go-to spot for afternoon tea. The place is so bustling and buzzing that it loses that intimate quality you want in a tea spot.

Atmosphere: CUTESTTTTT tea place I’ve been to yet! I loved the décor. The Alice in wonderland theme. The seating area. The teacupssssss. It’s awesome. Everything is so unique and fun! For the little ones, they give them fairy wings and sprinkle glitter on them as they make a wish. *melting* Prices: totally decent for everything they have. We had 8 people and got two big pots of tea and it was more than enough. Only $ 16 I believe. Lots of pastries. All affordable. I didn’t get their burgers but those looked a taddddd pricy. Food/tea: YUM. YUM. YUM! The SMORES were amazing. The teas were phenomenal. I just wanna go back thinking about it. Soooooo many teas to try. And they make their scones fresh in house, so there’s different ones every day. It’s worth a trip here. Will I be back? HECK to the YES! Somewhere I wanna take visiting friends too.

My friend and I went on a Friday morning at 10:30 to try out Alice’s Tea Cup Chapter II. I have wanted to go for several years but never had a chance to stop by. My friend had never heard of it but was eager to try it out too. We were seated within ten minutes(although the place was empty). But I believed they were short staffed in the morning. It was incredibly hard getting my server’s attention along with any other staff. They need to bear in mind. People eventually trickled in and it seems like the staff can’t keep up. However, when you did flag someone down, every was super nice and helpful. We had the mad hatter’s morning tea for two. It came with two scones, two eggs any style, a yogurt with granola and two pots of tea. We decided we would need more to fully satisfy the both of us(since we were super hungry.) We got one more entrée of eggs and a side of bacon. We were fine with all the food until we ate the scones last. They were huge and incredibly filling and pretty good too. Although I am not the biggest fan of scones. We picked out two teas: the Rooibos Wedding Chai and the Alice’s Faerie Potion. Both were really good. The wedding chai was like milk tea and that was clearly the favorite between the two as that pot was finished. We also liked the Faerie potion. It had strong hints of rose and was a nice green tea. We would recommend both of those teas. We really did like this place. They were really nice and accommodating, albeit slow. However they were super nice and didn’t treat us differently when we first and foremost mentioned we have a Travelzoo voucher. The place is a little dated, although very cute. That is part of the charm. For what we paid, I think it was a fair price with the voucher. However without a voucher, I do not know how often I will frequent this place. There are just so many other better brunch places. However, that Rooibos chai may beckon me back…

My very first afternoon tea experience was a fun experience with my girlfriends Aileen W and Cynthia L. We were able to walk-in without a reservation(~20 minute wait) on New Year’s Eve and were the last table to be sat since they closed early that evening. We ordered the Mad Hatter($ 48, but add another $ 8 for 3 people with an additional scone and pot of tea), which came with pots of tea, three scones, two sandwiches, and assorted cookies with sides of clotted cream and raspberry preserves. The smoked salmon sandwich was delicious and the butter scone was my favorite. Since everything here is carb central, we were got full pretty quickly! I loved all of the mismatched pots and plates and the décor. It’s cute and there’s a «warm» home-like environment. The service was slow, but we were enjoying our conversations. Even though they were closing early, we also never felt rushed. Overall, it was a good experience and I’m already looking up new places to try out for afternoon tea.

Perfect spot for a rainy day like today. I didn’t know they took reservations for all sizes of parties otherwise I would have made one for my hubby & I today. Anywho, since it was a weekday with yucky weather I figured I wouldn’t need one. Wrong– still had to wait 45 minutes at around 11:30am on a Tuesday. That was fine with me since I needed to check out a place in the area. I left my number & they called when our table was ready. We sat on the bottom level which was pretty tiny but still comfortable & cute. Since it was our first time, we went with the Mad Hatter tea for two. Gotta admit– I was skeptical if we would get full but 2 pots of tea, 3 scones, &2 sandwiches we could barely finish the bottom tier of cookies & mousse pudding that were left(they were out of mocha cake which was probably a blessing in disguise since the cookies & scones were sweet enough!) Tea was great(vanilla coconut & African something– closest to coffee a tea can get!) Scones were scrumptious too(the vegan cranberry was my fave!). Sandwiches were tasty(BLT& the chicken one with apple slices– I forgot the name but highly recommend!) Cookies were yummy as well. Umm I guess you can say I loved it all!!! We spent about $ 60 including tip which was reasonable in my eyes considering all the food & tea we got). Will I be back? Yes! Only next time I will be sure to make a reservation! ;)

At least once a year, in the fall, my friend and I come here & we make the same comments each time; «Let’s have a tea party here.» «I can’t wait to bring our daughters here.» «Do they sell tea-sets?!» Anyway, DO get the Mad Hatter and DO try the teas. DON’T come without a reservation on the weekends unless you’re okay with at least a 20 min wait!

A cute Alice in the Wonderland themed tea house. We ordered the Mad Hatter(for two), which is $ 45 for 2 pots of tea, 3 scones, 2 sandwiches, 4 assorted cookies, and a choice between mocha cake, chocolate pudding, or lemon tart. In my opinion, the scones and cookies were way too sweet. However, the sandwiches were delicious. I’m in love with the Rooibos Wedding Chai Tea. It has such a lovely scent and taste. I’ve tried other flavors, but wasn’t fond of them.

I ADORETHISPLACE! A friend and I came here last weekend for afternoon tea and I am so happy she picked this spot… They don’t take reservations, but we only had to wait around half an hour, which my friend and I didn’t mind at all because we had a lot of catching up to do! Really whimsical, fanciful, lovely and cute ambiance. We decided on the Mad Hatter Tea Service, which is absolutely perfect for two people. It comes with two pots of tea, 3 scones, 3 little sandwiches, a dessert of our choice and cookies. And it’s a steal for around $ 30 per person, for a substantial amount of food. We ended up having to take quite a bit home for later! For the tea, I picked Chocolate Chai and my friend chose Christmas Tea because we wanted to try something festive. Too bad there wasn’t a Fall Blend or Pumpkin-Something option. The Chocolate Chai is black tea spiced with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, clove, vanilla and sweetened with chocolate. It was lovely and rich, with a subtle flavor of chocolate. The Christmas Tea was a comforting blend of Indian black tea, hibiscus, raisins, rose hips, almonds, cinnamon and clove. I thought it tasted just okay, but I did enjoy it when it was mixed with the Chocolate Chai and milk. The sandwiches we selected were curried chicken salad and ham with gruyère. The curried chicken salad had red onion, celery, granny smith apple and tomato slices on golden raisin semolina. This was really nice with a huge amount of seasoning. But I really enjoyed the black forest ham and gruyère, which came with whole grain mustard and mayonnaise on golden raisin semolina bread. I think I tasted more mayonnaise than mustard, which was a win for me. Though simpler, it had purer flavors and unexpectedly, I think I may have liked it a bit more than the curried chicken salad sandwich. For the scones, we of course had to try the pumpkin spice(‘Tis the season!), chocolate caramel and ginger molasses(50 cents more for that one). We tried the pumpkin one, which had a robust pumpkin flavor, on the spot and it was wonderful, especially with the homemade clotted cream and raspberry jam. We also tried it with some whipped cream we had and that was deliciously indulgent. Later, I had the rest of the scones and I enjoyed the chocolate chips in the chocolate caramel one, but the glaze of caramel taste was not that strong. The ginger molasses was heavy on both ginger and sweet molasses flavor and quite good. As for the dessert, we decided to order the chocolate mousse pudding, though I will have to come back for to try the mocha cake because I saw another table have it and it looked amazing! The chocolate mousse was certainly exquisite and delectable, with incredibly rich sweet milk chocolate and whipped cream. It was irresistibly creamy and smooth as silk. The cookies were also pretty good, but not the highlight… I had the ginger snap and a white chocolate cranberry one. The service was great as well and I will definitely return, especially for that mocha cake and the s’mores dessert that I saw on the menu!

Finally made it to all three of the Alice’s Tea Cup Restaurants now! I think on a day like today(a Tuesday) during the lunch hour was a good time. The service was the best of the three locations. Stephanie our hostess was so informative and friendly. She is obviously a benefit to this business. I had my usual scones. Two naturally, one being Pumpkin! The other ham and cheese. Really that is the reason I go to Alice’s. They were fresh and warm from the oven the butter and raspberry preserve were so delicious. At least I think it’s raspberry. The important part is how it is all so delicious! I brought a friend that’s visiting from another state. She enjoyed her salmon sandwich but her soup was cold. I noticed another diner send some of his food back complaining it was cold. Employees were standing around talking with each other. I’m afraid I did feel that part of the atmosphere diminish my rating. I also considered my friends cold soup. My two scones will be purchased to go next time unless I go for a breakfast meal. This is not a place I personally enjoy for lunch. In all I recommend families with little girls, and any one that is young at heart. Visit an Alice’s periodically to give yourself a treat! At this time for hours of operation and location convenience Alice’s II is the best! Say hi to Stephanie!

Mon meilleur brunch à New York Mon meilleur carrot cake à New York. Mon meilleur brunch décalé d’anniversaire for ever! Enjoy!
