Clothing is super comfortable & they have a nice sale now. The clothes are organic cotton and are great to sleep in. Would come back if there are more sales! Otherwise, I am not rich to afford the clothing because I am a teacher.

This was the worst customer experience I have ever had. The two workers were not confident in the clothing brand and did not assist me whatsoever. If I did have any concern about a size or needed something they treated me as if I was asking for a herculean labor. The rest of the time they acted as if I did not even exist in such a small store. There was no music present making the experience even more isolating and cold as it amplified the whispers between staff members. I strongly advice people to shop online because it might be the only chance to have a good experience.

Found this brand online for some fashionable yoga/sports clothing brands other than Lululemon, etc. and came across Alternative. There are a lot of great basics for workout apparel for both men and women, including some bags and jewelry. So far the clothing material seem like they are made of high quality fabrics and the fit is great for working out and even as casual wear. Because there weren’t too many customers, it was easier for me to get some assistance from the employees whom were very attentive and courteous. In case of a wait, there are a few stools to sit on because there are only two fitting rooms available. Definitely worth a look if you’re looking for top quality work out apparel from NYC/LA.

Located on Lafayette, just north of Prince. First time I went in was in June. I wandered the small store in circle trying in vain to find a certain shirt I saw on the website. I was offered no assistance even though I was clearly needing some and so I asked for it. Unfortunately, after leading me to the general area, neither the first or second employee was able to provide me with confident product knowledge. This is rather a big issue given that this is a brand that is aiming higher. I ended up purchasing online and that was a much better experience. Second visit in September I was met with indifference. I had experienced what I believe to be a defect in one of the shirts as the fabric had clearly developed a hole. The first employee was understanding but powerless to do anything about it and called over his boss, whom said he wouldn’t do anything for me. I then called the online support number and was quickly taken care of. It seems that the store & the online operations are clearly seperate, and that the online operation is a much better place to shop. Whereas a brick & mortar store should allow a good selection, a knowledgeable staff and good service — the Alternative Apparel in SoHo offers none of these.
