Surprisingly large bodega — the kind of place you’d expect to be able to find corn starch. They didn’t have it, but man, if they did — I wouldn’t have been surprised. Lots of pastas and canned foods and junk food and beverages — they also have a limited selection of produce like onions. The cashiers there are pretty awesome. There’s one guy in particular who is groovy as all get out and seems on his way to sainthood — he always blesses me for e.g. bringing my own bag or other small things. Man, once a dude blesses your footsteps a couple times it’s hard to justify going elsewhere to buy a diet coke, you know?
