It wasn’t easy finding this place, but the address is the same as the name(66). The service was very fast and so was the food. Granted, there are a lot of similar restaurants in the neighborhood. I went with this one because of good reviews and I wasn’t disappointed. As far as the food goes, they have a variety of pretty much everything.

I don’t typically eat at Chinese restaurants for dinner, but my overall experience was mehhh. The restaurant fills up with locals who seem to know what to order off the top of their heads, compared to my party who took quite some time to decide what to get. My most excited dish was the Honey Walnut Shrimp with Broccoli, which I have been craving for awhile. The dish looks large, but truthfully it wasn’t I would say there were about maybe 10 pieces of shrimp and tons of walnuts. Underneath all the shrimp, walnut and sauce, there was cherry tomato, sliced melon, and pineapple. I was quite disappointed… if I really wanted all of the other stuff, I would have ordered it, which is probably why they stuffed all the fruits/cherry tomatoes underneath to hide the real portion of this dish. — Everything else I had is either not worth mentioning or taste like normal Chinese food from other restaurants.

Amazing 66, is always amazing. I’ve been coming here for years and never disappoints.(Except when the line for a table is so long). This place is always busy and always good. Consistent flavorful dishes and not your typical menu. First off I have to rave about their Peking Duck. It was beautifully prepared and plated. While they didn’t do it table side like most restaurants, it’s likely because there was no space to do so. The white buns wrapped a perfect portion of the crispy skin, one portion of the duck meat, scallions, and hoisin sauce. Tip: if you know you’re going, order to reserve the duck ahead of time. You may not get it if it’s sold out. Second, I keep coming back for their inventive menu. Instead of your usual Spring Fried Chicken dish with garlic which they have, we tried something different. Orange Chicken topped with thin slices of yellow/orange colored pickled ginger slices and one more thin slice of Pickles. The combo reminded me of mango chicken with a kick of the tingly ginger. Nice finish. The other dishes we ordered, steamed flounder, birds nest, stewed tofu, sautéed steak with onions and tomatoes, salt and pepper squid to name a few, were made the expected Cantonese style way. Just a great classic meal. The restaurant gave us a yummy dessert — the classic plate of cut oranges and bowls of sweet potato soup but prepared with likely lots of cane sugar and/or evaporated milk. This is called«tong sui». Note: this is not always available. Seasonal and likely because we ordered a banquet style menu.

TL;DR Best Peking Duck in NYC. Hard to believe I haven’t reviewed this place yet, considering how often I go there after getting a craving for Peking Duck. One order is more than enough for 2 people to share– most likely you will bring leftovers home. They ask you if you want the bones; I always say yes and bring them home to make stock. I prefer buns(mantou) for my Peking Duck so I always ask for them but I believe the standard option is pancakes. The server brings it to the table and carves it for you, and it’s always a good entertainment for people who have never had Peking Duck. And of course the bird itself is delicious. Honestly I like it better than the famous Peking Duck place in Beijing that has pictures of all the world leaders and celebrities that I went to years ago, but I could be biased. I also like their BBQ quail app, and I hear that they have excellent seafood– but I’m simply unable to resist their duck when I’m there so I wouldn’t know how good anything else is. Someday, someday.

This is one of my family to-go places for lunch/dinner and great for large group meals. The food here is on point and they give good sized portions. One of my favorites is the garlic whole chicken. The skin of the chicken is so crispy and the meat is really moist. The salt and pepper pork is also really good! They make it in smaller pieces like bite sized chicken tenders. Also, make sure to try the snow pea shoots!

Time for Chinese New Year. This is your spot all things traditional. If looking to host a big party again this is your spot. Peking duck, sticky rice stuffed chicken, braised beef tendon, snow pea tips, duck soup, lettuce wraps. All very tasty.

Came here for a Sunday lunch with a large group. They take reservations, but the place was pretty empty when we walked in a little past noon. Giving this place 5 stars because it’s clean, there’s no wait, and every dish we had was delicious and large. Would definitely come back and recommend it to others!

Disappointed about the food. More like American Chinese food. The soup was too bitter, but the waiter said the soup should taste like that. Kidding me, I have never have a soup like that in China.

I used to go to this place a lot but it has gone way down hill. The vegetables were either raw or very overcooked and the chicken(of sesame chicken — usually a classic) was very overcooked. The duck however was decent. Best try somewhere else though

Went here because we saw Andrew Zimmerman go there. Not as impressive as he makes it sound. We were sat all the way to the back near the restroom, kitchen entrance, and guy cutting green beans with scissors. We ordered peking pork, snow peas with garlic, and beef chow fun(dry). All of it was okay, I have defiantly had better tasting Chinese food.

The restaurant looks very clean. We ordered the crab meat and fish maw soup with red vinegar. Which is my favorite soup of all time! It was nicely done and definitely satisfied my taste buds. We also had one of their signature dishes, the beef with pumpkin in curry sauce. Beef was extremely tender and delicious. I had no complains. Since there were only 2 of us I took the rest of the beef to go and that even lasted for 2 extra meals at home. The dinner came with complentary orange and tapioca as dessert but that’s typical at an HK restaurant.

Best bang for the buck in Queens. I haven’t been here in years, but food is still just as good since I first time I came. Not sure if the hours has changed but it looks like they close at 11PM these days. I call this place, the noodle town of flushing due to their cheap inexpensive menu even though this is a Taiwanese restaurant. You get my point. Anyway, for those of you coming here for the first time. Make sure you get the pork chop over rice. This is their signature dish and often sells out. The pork chops are fried but has that nice sweet taste to it, also comes with a tea egg.

Very tasty Cantonese cuisine though it was a bit on the greasier side for the dishes we ordered. The stir fried squid with mixed vegetables was tasty and fresh helping me feel good about choosing the healthier alternative to my favorite salt and pepper fried squid. Eggplant with salted chicken casserole was extremely delicious and the highlight of the meal. My only gripe was how greasy it was. It would have been a perfect dish if only they let off on the oil a bit. Clams in black bean sauce came with a great portion size and fresh delicious flavor. They did a great job for this tried and true Cantonese seafood dish. Prices were not bad at all, maybe a smidge higher than at Big Wong.

Had a very«interesting» experience here. I asked our waiter how the Peking duck was served since we like to have pancakes rather then buns. I got my answer(pancakes) and then went back to looking at the rest of the menu. A few minutes later he brigs the duck out and starts carving it. Apparently I made an order! No wine, no drinks apart from tea, and nothing else to eat. After carving the duck, he asks if we want the«bones» which I decline. Later he brings the remainder of the duck that we ordered to another table and starts eating it himself. I kid you not! Our waiter sent someone else over to give us the check since he was too busy eating our leftovers. Wow. I will not be going back.

This place was busy which is always a good sign. There was a good mix of tourists and locals. Amazing 66 was decent, but not anywhere near amazing. We came here for a family dinner Friday evening. We started off with a traditional Chinese soup and followed it up with a number of dishes: fried chicken, salt and pepper pork chops, Buddhist delight, shrimp with lobster sauce, salted pork meatloaf, vegetables, and meat patties with lotus root. While the dishes were good they weren’t off the charts amazing. Done of them lacked flavor or were not up to our expectations(having had better versions at other Chinese places). I am not sure if I would come back here unless my family or friends decided to have a meal here. Service was good and the facilities were fairly tidy. This place is in the heart of NYC’s Chinatown, so public transportation is the best way to get here.

I’m going to have to downgrade to 1 star after today. First let me tell you that we were 1 of 2 tables but very shortly after we came in, we were the absolute only ones in the restaurant. Service was not good and I don’t expect much. But the waiters were kind of dry, short and almost rude. Almost. Again considering we were the only two people, that is not acceptable. I’m not expecting full attention every 2 mins or, big fake smiles but a little something. Not once did someone ask us how everything was going, fine. The waiter was dry when we were asking a few questions about the menu. Fine. But we ask for water and it’s like geez. I dunno but it left me regretting going there and the food today was just okay, to make everything worse. They pretty much lost our business today.

My family and I came here for dinner on the first night we landed in NYC. Our NYC family reserved two tables for us. The type of Chinese food served here were very interesting — definitely a mix of food that did not exist in our Chicago Chinese restaurants. The service was great. it’s located in the basement which I thought was a bit strange. Poor cell phone signal. As for the food we ordered a LOT. My favorite was the lobster fruit salad! Two big lobsters on top of a mixed fruit salad(honeydew, cantalope, pineapple)… with tomatoes and cucumbers. It is refreshing and very tasty! I really enjoyed the food here. Both my husband and I definitely would come back next time to dine here.

#I feel like all their #food tastes better than they look. Look at all these #photos. What is going on I got the #Fried Butter Fish In Black Bean Sauce. It really looks gross and smells super salty. But it was #pretty good, not so salty as it smelled. You could eat the bones and eat the #heads in all with no problem. Pretty amazing that you can prepare #fish that way, so you don’t have to pick around the #bones. #No bones about it

I took one of my clients here for lunch for their peking duck, and he’s been begging me to take him back there since! Their peking duck is really good — one of the better places to get it in NYC, which says a lot! They slice up the duck tableside, and ask if you want to take the rest of the carcass home — I always say yes so that I can do a duck stock with it afterwards. Crispy fatty juicy duck skin, in a pillowy soft bao with hoisin sauce, cucumbers and scallions = MMMmmmmmmm! I also really like the peking pork chops(deep fried pork doused in a sweet sauce, what’s not to like??), and we usually do a fried rice as well. I did their shrimp and pastrami fried rice the first time around, which everyone LOVED, but the second time around the fried rice was completely bland yet had overwhelming notes of cumin. Will have to try another dish next time! We’ve also had their juicy pork dumplings, which are like xiao lang baos, and they were pretty good. Not like«I’m going to come here just for those» good, but«good to order as a side since it’s available» good. Overall a solid choice — service is pretty attentive, and the restaurant is pretty clean(although there were fruit flies buzzing around us the last time we went).
