this place has gone to complete dumps. initially a 5 star now slow, always out of stock, rude staff, burnt food, and when give refunds they always give less than what you pay but hey these guys are living in poverty so who’s to argue

I will never be ordering from here again. I had ordered a bacon egg and cheese sandwich, a ham and cheese on a hero and a gallon of water. Worst idea I’ve ever had to order it from them seeing as when the delivery guy arrived he threw my things on the floor at my feet and turned around running down the stairs. Thankfully none of the items were disturbed but upon opening the food nothing was made correctly, they didn’t look at any of the specifications I used on seamless and when I call and explain everything to the manager over the phone, I got hung up on. Never again.

I’ve lived on the UWS for 20 years and spent probably $ 50 a week at Andys. After this morning, I will not be back. This place is hit and miss, and entirely based on who is behind the counter taking your order. There are a few young guys who are great. But with some of the guys who’ve been there for as long as I’ve been around, the service is sloppy. I’ve ordered an egg and cheese only to get to my apartment and … no cheese. I’ve ordered a tuna on toasted rye and … untoasted whole wheat. Things happen, but it can be frustrating. This morning I ordered an egg and cheese, dry, on a toasted English muffin — and the guy repeats it to the line cook exactly. Well the line cook clearly doesn’t understand that dry means«without grease». He sticks his spatula in a vat of grease, smears it on the griddle AND — because clearly more is necessary — he sprays Pam on TOP of the grease. Really? All that fat for two eggs? So I said to the guy I ordered from — «hey please make sure he knows my eggs are dry». So he reminds the guy«two scrambled dry with cheese toasted English». My bag is presented to me, «6.20». I said«I don’t think this is mine, this isn’t dry, I think mine is coming up». The guy says to me, «This is yours. You cook? You have to use grease or the eggs stick!» I said, «First, yes I cook and I cook without grease all the time, second, why do other delis in Manhattan cook without grease for me and third, why did you tell me you could do something if you couldn’t do it? Why did you tell the cook ‘dry’ if dry isn’t possible?». He was cranky and did not like the idea of being called out. I paid him and left. I had been resigned to start cooking more and eat healthier anyway and this rude experience pushed me over the edge. So, although a poor review for them, one with a silver lining for me.

First time here, egg and bacon breakfast was really good. It could have had a bit more egg, but it was cooked perfectly. The roll was perfectly soft. Coffee was amazing and I wished we could have dropped by again on our trip. When returning to the city, we will definitely stop again.

Horrible customer service, tried to call them to place an order for 30 people and they gave me the run around and at the last min didn’t take my $ 800 order so I went somewhere else.

I had such high hopes for this place after reading the reviews. I got a mixed greens salad with chicken, and a plain roll on the side. The service was quick and friendly, so that deserves a couple stars. The chicken was tasty and seemed fresh. However, I had to pick through the salad greens to sort out the slimy, decomposing pieces, which totaled about ½ of cup worth of the salad, and the kaiser roll was stale around the edge. My quest for a decent and well-priced salad on the Upper West Side continues…

Just called to order because I read that they delivered to the Shakespeare in the Park line.(It’s a different andys deli). I placed my order, but when I told him where I was he said, «we don’t deliver there. You’re wasting my time.» And hung up on me! Look, it’s okay if you don’t deliver — but there is no reason to be rude!

My trip to Andy’s yesterday has spurred me to write my very first Unilocal review. Got a hot pastrami sandwich on rye bread with deli mustard– truly the best I’ve ever had, mouth still watering just thinking about it. I’ve done all of the New York over-hyped delis and cannot believe it took this long to find THIS heavenly $ 6.50 sandwich at Andy’s. Go, go go.

Andy’s practically cared for us the entire 7 months we lived in UWS. We were there temporarily as we were waiting for mortgage to come through on our co-op. Our studio was very very small and cooking was not an easy thing to accomplish. We knew nothing about this neighborhood but we somehow found this place. The food was always fresh and tasty, delivered quickly with a smile. There was a time when we ran out of cat food and decided to order tuna from Andy’s. Not only did they deliver, but they brought us a choice between Bumble Bee and Starkist! We are so going to miss you guys!!! You pretty much kept us alive. I will especially miss your Tuna Melts!

Disappointed. Saw great reviews so we were excited to try Andy’s. Ordered a sub. While the ingredients seemed fresh, we didn’t get what we ordered on a simple order. I’m now full, totally unsatisfied and watching my boyfriend eating peanut butter out of the jar on the couch.

Every time I think I need something, I always stop before running out to a larger store and ask myself, «Will Andy’s have this?». Without fail, every time they do. I’ve used Andy’s for almost everything at one time or another — Paper plates, eggs, cooking oil, beer, and of course, deli sandwiches. You won’t find a huge variety of each item, but in a pinch I’m confident they will carry it and it’s truly impressive how much stuff they’re able to fit into what amounts to be a pretty small space. I first came in to get sandwiches and was immediately impressed by how large their menu was. Each sandwich I’ve gotten has been delicious, made with a friendly smile, and not over priced at all. They have a pretty solid spread of Boar’s Head meats and cheeses as well as a variety of rolls and bread available for whatever strikes your fancy. I haven’t ventured into the hot foods yet, but those also look good and when someone orders a burger my mouth starts watering. As a one-stop shop I can’t recommend them enough.

Andy’s never disappoints with their sandwiches. Huge generous portions leave you full and satisfied. I always get mine on a hero, big enough for 2 people.

Unfortunaely I had to drop two stars due to the sudden, huge increase in prices. I didn’t mind paying for«okay» food at a low price, but the prices just skyrocketed on both seamless and delivery and the food remains the same. Wow!

Usually I have great experiences with this place but tonight, I am so angry! I ordered about $ 20 worth of items on , when the delivery man came, not all of my items were with him. I called and asked what happened but no one knew. I waited a little bit and called again, explaining what happened and they said«no problem, we’ll send someone now.» When the delivery man came, even after showing him the receipt from earlier, he wouldn’t give me my items, telling me that I didn’t pay. I paid extra earlier for those items and didn’t receive them. I’m not about to pay again. I showed him the receipt, then he asked to borrow my phone to call. I offered it to him, but he couldn’t figure out how to use it so fine. Then he said«I’ll be right back» and left. I called to ask what happened and they said«oh, we don’t know. Call back tomorrow.» Look, I don’t need the food that badly, but I paid for it. If nothing else, just give me my money back. I’m going to go tomorrow and complain to the manager or the owner or whoever I can speak with. I am so angry to waste my money. I’m a poor college kid, I really can’t waste any money at this point.

I am so glad I’ve found this place! I’ve tried some varieties and they are all great! I am pretty sure they grill their chicken at least daily cause I don’t smell or taste that gamy left-and-refrigerated-overnight smell from the chicken in my salad(which is the usual case with other fancier deli). My other favorites are the seasoned fires and BLT with chipotle sauce. Food is always consistent and the delivery guys always show up with smile on. Do you know how rare that is in the city? PURELOVE.

No words can describe the amount of love I have for Andy’s Deli. Whether it’s a bacon egg and cheese for my AM hangovers or a turkey on whole wheat in the PM… I can always rely on them to be consistently good. Truly a gem. Fast delivery and great food, I can’t ask for more!
