One of my favorite spots to grab drinks in the city. They have good live music on Thursdays and the cocktails are tasty.

I’m sure this place is a great spot for drinks, specially at night, but this review is based on my experience with their… well, let’s call it brunch. $ 25, fixed price. This doesn’t include coffee(o_O), but will get you unlimited Mimosas(and only Mimosas), which are definitely not the best you’ve ever had, but I guess they’ll do if you just want to get drunk. I’m guessing this is the reason for most of the positive reviews. Moving on to the food. Let me put it this way; this place would make a great episode of Kitchen Nightmares. The appetizers are a joke. I got a salad that was just slightly bigger than the one served as a side with the main dish. Was it small but delicious? No, plus it didn’t have any dressing, making it the most expensive plate of grass I’ve ever eaten. The crab cakes tasted bad. Fortunately they come with a way-to-spicy hot sauce that covers their flavor(and will leave your taste buds numb for the rest of the meal, which in this case is quite a blessing). If after fighting the appetizers you have 45 minutes to spare, you might get your main dishes. I went for the bacon macs&cheese with a fried egg. The three pieces of bacon I got were very tasty, but after I ate all three of them, I was left with an overcooked, tiny egg and some macs&cheese that would have been acceptable on the menu of a dirty diner, but not when you are paying $ 25. Somebody else ordered the Eggs Benedict. However they ran out of ham so they substituted it with shrimp(WTF!). I do have to say, the waitress was very nice and as I said above I’m sure this is a great place for drinks. But, if you are looking for a good brunch, just keep walking, you’ll find a better spot.

How on earth is this place still open? I know so many people who love this place but I can not wrap my head around why. It is bourgeois as all hell. It’s cute — quaintly small, and has boutique style décor. But the food is average at best; You can get better food at any bodega in the area honestly. The drinks are ok. The main problem with this place is the service. All the waitresses who work here act as if they are doing you a favor by performing the functions of their job. I don’t need superstar service every time I dine out but these young women are straight up RUDE& have no business working in a service related industry. They are more interested in their Instagram pages than their customers. This place seems to strictly hire gorgeous stuck up princesses who can only crack a smile for male patrons — lame. Will not be back.

I don’t really get why this place has such good reviews. It’s small. And I think perhaps at night it could be cute but it’s not set up for eating so I don’t know how they do brunch and the décor is okay but subpar. But honestly I don’t care about décor when I’m going out for drinks/food– I’m really looking for good service and taste. Now the margarita I got was good. Thankfully. But that’s it. The waitresses/bartenders were all exceptionally rude. There were only about 3 parties in this time. I don’t know why you would be rude to a bunch of people who are being positive and friendly and just trying to get a drink! Completely put me off. Customer service and hospitality is huge. Honestly this seems like a place people go to only to tag it on Instagram and take selfies — not for a real experience. Not interested. Won’t be returning.

This place is ghetto and thugged-out. My recommendation is to take the 1 Train across the street from this place and go into the city and spend your money elsewhere. I’ll comment on the staff, first. By far some of the rudest, broke-down people I’ve ever been in the same space with. Asked for refills on bottomless drinks and wait-staff seemed inconvenienced that they had to do this. Food came out cold and asked to have it heated up. After asking this, waitress glared at me, took the plate and walked away without saying anything. Smacking her gum like a cow, too. Bön Qui Qui at King Burger would have been friendlier. It isn’t my fault you work for less than minimum wage in a 400 sq foot busted up studio in Washington Heights. The DJ is a knock-off, too. Loud music that caters to the local local diversity only, which is unfortunate. Blasting loud music that is bad doesn’t make the music sound any better. The joint was shut down in June 2015 for many violations which made headlines on the news, too. Many of us were hoping it would stay closed. Overall experience was a waste of money. Don’t be fooled by «bottomless» drinks. And, you won’t get friendly service from anyone. The dump is characteristic of the people loitering the streets in the area. The space would serve better as a Starbucks. Go to an establishment elsewhere that appreciates its customers.

APT78 Service is horrible! Zaida needs to find a new line of work. Her customer service skills will run customers away. Throwing adult temper tantrums is not a good look in a restaurant. Weak mimosas l. Bathrooms are dim, only one unisex bathroom in entire restaurant, no toilet paper holder so tissue sits whatever you find it floor, back of toilet or sink. Too cheap to purchase a real door with working door knob. Have fake me out door knob and just a latch. A quarter of the wall missing from floor where rodents can come in and chipped paint on ventilation fans. The good is the chef was good.

The only reason I’m giving them a star is for the fantastic bartender that made his«SAMs Punch» with pride! Otherwise, I came here yesterday for an event. It was a pretty good event until the end. I ask the bouncer if I can go out and smoke. He tells me yea, go smoke right there. Not even 5 min later the OTHER bouncer tells me I have to make the line. I’m like I’m sorry I was in already, your colleague told me I can come back in. The first bouncer refused to come out!(He was practically HIDING) At that point in time I was over it. Completely rude. Will NEVER come back nor bring or suggest anyone got there for an event.

I’ve been here about 6 times. Meeting up with friends for dinner. Check Having drinks with friends. Check A friend having a mixer? Check A friend releasing a new music video and launching his new Spring line? Check Friend broke up with boy friend and needs a pick me up? Check Your favorite video vixen is bar tending and you want to see her big booty move around the bar? *smirks* check. It’s like the neighborhood hangout. I dig the living room atmosphere. Good drinks. Easy breezy lunch/dinner options. You’ll oftentimes catch Washington Heights artist Peralta hanging out. Why 4 stars and not 5? Mannnnn. Their restrooms are like little dark caves. It always smells like letrine and they’re always out of toilet paper.

This was my first time here and I didn’t expect too much since it was Washington heights. There were no host to greet us. We had to find our own table. The food was mediocre. Maduro hash was amazing. But everything else was just weird tasting and badly seasoned. I guess we got what we paid for. The audacity of the waitress to not make sure our«unlimited» mimosas were refilled. Also she had a full blown conversation with someone AND spilled half the pitcher of mimosa on my friend. It seems like she was drunk. Wish there were more servers. There were only two servers for the whole place. It was sad. The service was extremely slow. I wouldn’t come back here.

Great food, atmosphere was fun, the DJ played good music for brunch, even though it was a bit loud. I had the steak and eggs as a Main, and the maduro hash as an appetizer, and both were great. My friend and I both had the guava mimosas, which the waiter kept filled throughout the meal. Will definitely be coming back! Be sure to get there early or try and make a reservation though– the place is small and popular!

The service is extremely slow, just one server for the whole restaurant, which means limited mimosas as opposed to the unlimited mimosas that are advertise. We only were able to order 2. The food is not that great… i had the chicken and waffles whicb were some very hard friend chicken tenders. Very little chicken fingers looked like mozzarella sticks. Will never come here again.

Great vibe amazing crowd and awesome music. Djs were on point and had ppl jamming. Food is pretty good the Sweet Tai Wings is a must my only issue is the sangria it’s pretty good but way over price 45 $ for a pitcher is ridiculous. I’ve had better sangria for way cheaper. Overall experience was dope but don’t forget to price your drink!

I came back after i received a voucher for $ 75. I am glad to say i would come back again. I was torn between giving a 3 and 4. We came for brunch and i had the crab cake and mac and cheese. I did not enjoy the crab cakes their texture was grainy and a bit salty. The lobster mac and chesse was good but i would have wanted it to be hotter it was warm but i like my food very hot. I liked that the chef himself brings out the food it shows a personal relationship to the food. My sister had the green salad and the steak and eggs. I had some of her steak and it was very flavorful i enjoyed it very much and the waitress was very accommodating with substitutions for my sister. She swapped the maduro hash for potatoes. I had sangria it was good. The food is alot better and i look forward to returning for dinner.

Chill vibe but the place is very small for the amount of people they put in here at evening and night events. Food and house blend sangria are good. However… I’ve been here 3 times. First time pitcher was 30 next time 40. Now 45. Prices keep going up the price is crazy.

The lounge part gets 3 stars The brunch 1.5 stars This review is for brunch. Atmosphere: When we went there was no heat and one of the bathroom wasn’t working. It was 7 of us and we were all cramped in the corner because another group had taken the only large table they had. The table was too low so we had to place the plates on our laps, we literally felt like we were at our tia’s apartment. Food: Most of us had the churrrasco which was good, nothing out of this world but decent. I had the sweet plantain and chorizo hash and it was tasty. Drinks: The guava mimosas were tasty but kind of weak. They were supposed to be unlimited but after a while we were informed that«this would be the last pitcher» Service: Our waitress was nice yet at times she seemed a bit overhwelmed. She was also working as the bartender. Recommendation to business: You might want to consider getting furniture that’s conducive to eating. If not, then perhaps just stick to lounge part.

SUNDAYBRUNCH: Where to begin??? This place is a shithole. 1-They don’t serve coffee. At all. You can bring coffee in but there is no coffee. So that’s strike one. 2-You will wait for OVER an hour for your appetizer and then another 20minutes or so for your main dish. Both of which are worse then eggs from a carton and food that I would make at home. And I am not the best cook. 3-Loud House Music. Enough said. 4-It’s a $ 20 brunch. Unlimited mimosas, and only mimosas(no Bloody Mary’s), appetizer(ha!) and main dish. So if you don’t want to drink, which I did not, you’ll be paying $ 20 for crappy food and awful service. I will never come here again and will always suggest that people go somewhere else. Yikes.

Came for a friend’s birthday get together. We showed up around 11:30 on a Saturday and it was pretty slow. The DJ was very good though and soon enough around 1am more patrons began flooding the lounge but it wasnt too over crowded and we were lucky enough to carve out a small seating area which there seemed to be plenty and no stupid VIP areas. The waitress/bartenders were great and extremely attentive and served us the entire night. I did not try the food, but i did try the sangria based on the rave reviews and I can now join in to say it was really good. I would like to come back but the only draw back was the parking situation. Id recommend coming by public transport maybe a cab. Overall a nice little spot, the night i came the DJ was great and the crowd was nice too.

Not sure how to sum up the experience here except to say that it was not what I expected. A few friends and I stopped by to have a bit to eat and grab a beer. We went in around 7:30 and found the place completely empty aside from two bartenders and a dj. There are no real tables where you could sit down comfortably to eat. The beer selection is extremely limited and they have no drafts. They have drink specials, but the mojito special I got was a far cry from what I would expected. The one bright spot here was the food. The food we ordered ended up surprising us at how tasty it was. We all consumed it pretty fast, but(and here’s the issue) the food we had all seemed like things we could have made on our own just as easily. When you go out to a place to eat, you def don’t want to feel like you could of done this at home in your kitchen with little to no effort and maybe even a bit better. Still not sure how to feel about APT78. It’s not a place I would go for a beer or for food. I wouldn’t go there when it’s more crowded(if indeed it does get more crowded). I would want to go there with a friend to relax a bit and lounge, but that’s a difficult proposition without better drinks.

I found this place on Unilocal, and decided that to go based on all the other reviews describing good music, and great drinks, but APT78 lacked in both of those areas on the night I went. The actual space is small and cozy. When you walk in there are some tables and chairs to the right, bar to left, and bathrooms straight to the back. My friend and I headed straight to the bar to make use of the Unilocal check-in and get some shots. I made a mistake by insisting on getting the«rainbow» shot because it really didn’t do anything for me(except add calories). We heard that there was supposed to be a live DJ, but that never actually happened. There was DJ booth set up by the doors, so when the asked the waitress if there was in fact going to be a DJ she said«Yes, but he’s running late tonight.» We tried to wait it out, but we didn’t realize that by late she meant more than an hour or so. Eventually, we got so tired of waiting(and so hungry) that we decided to order some food, and then called it a night. The food, although it sounds amazing on the menu, was nothing special just like the drinks. We had sliders, empanadas, and fries, and did they do the job? Sure. But I guess I just expected more. On a good note, it was all pretty cheap. lastly, the dress code is very questionable in the place. When my friends and I arrived it was still pretty early in the night, but everyone was dressed casually. But around 11ish alot more heels and dresses started entering. I guess they were under the impression that was going to be a DJ too.
