When you’re hungry and your boss is treating the team to a free lunch, you can’t really complaint about the food if you’re not paying for it. There’s nothing really special about the Asian Fusion restaurant. The dining area is on the dim side and in a need of a renovation. It tries to give an impression of a trendy restaurant but does not succeed. My sushi entrée choice consisting of tuna, spicy salmon and eel roles(including salad) were fresh, tasty and very good. I would dine here again for lunch regardless of who’s paying(the prices are reasonable). I give three stars just for the food and service.

It was okay. I was craving sushi and standard Chinese food and this was the closest place to my hotel. I wouldn’t go again, but I could see myself eating here for lunch if I worked nearby.

Upon perusing the lot of vicious 1 and 2 star reviews, I think I’ve figured it out. I don’t eat sushi. I don’t like sushi. I come here for the Chicken Teryaki, and most of these reviews reference the sushi. Meh. I enjoy the whole experience here. This place is near work, and(unlike most places near work) it’s actually a sit down restaurant, complete with walls, waiters, water glasses and other things found in restaurants. The service is silent and prompt. The food is well-flavored and plentiful. The Chicken Teriyaki box is great. Rice and salad accompany it. A good chunk of food for only $ 10. I also like their Thai Iced Tea. I’ve been more than a few times, and will most certainly be back. One thing: They have Thai, Chinese & Sushi, so you might be surprised by the hefty menu and variety of options(perhaps disconcertingly?). Don’t just stick to the lunch specials.

Meh! came for lunch with co-workers. Had soup and sushi roll and it was ok. Very bland.

Ordered this for dinner with my coworkers, and was horribly disappointed. The food was bland and flavorless. The sushi was not fresh at all. Ordered green tea ice cream, and they gave me mango which wasn’t even on the menu. Will not be ordering from them again.

I’ve been there twice, the first time I called in a take out order. When I arrived 25 minutes later, they said the order was almost ready. I had to wait another 25 minutes, and the whole time different staff kept moving me around, one asking me to sit at the side, another asking me to move to the bar. As the wait was really long, an elderly guy there gave me some tea, but then they tried to charge me for it when my order finally arrived. I enjoyed the panang chicken curry well enough, though thought it was a bit too salty, so I figured I’d give them another chance. This time, I ordered from their lunch specials menu. The hostess treated me like I was somehow personally offending her. I first tried to pay with my credit card, to which she told me they don’t take cards. I distinctly remember using my card the last time, and they have VISA and MasterCard signs on display, so I pointed this out. She then went to speak with another worker, who came over and more politely explained they have a $ 10 minimum. OK, fine, my meal came out to $ 9, so I hand her a $ 20. She comes back with a $ 1. A bit taken aback, I ask her where the rest of my change is, and she calmly explains they ran out of $ 10’s, as if it was the most sensible reason in the world to not give me my change. Eventually, I was able to convince her to give me 5 $ 1’s and 1 $ 5(no, they didn’t have 2 $ 5’s, and no they didn’t have 10 $ 1’s, so of course that must mean they don’t need to give me my change). I will not be returning. Oh, and the food was still too salty.

Good service! I had the Tofu Curry lunch box to go. It was okay, nothing special.

Food is good and has a good selection. Eating in is comfortable but a bit noisy when its busy… Take out is quick and always seems hot and fresh. Prices are a bit on the high side but not to bad for the neighborhood.

Avoid. Unless my lunch was just particularly bad that day… please skip and walk down to Chipotle. I wanted to try something new in hopes of a nearby place for acceptable sushi. It’s fidi, I don’t have a high bar for quick sushi lunches. My spicy tuna was NOT spicy or fresh. It also had some strange thing mixed inside. My friend’s chicken teriyaki box just left him almost just as hungry as he walked in. The highlight was my green salad which is impossible to mess up unless you don’t have fresh veggies either. Service was a bit on the slow side as well.

It a go to place for when I’m in pinch. I’ve been traveling a lot for work, and this place fits the bill nicely. I would give thumbs up to the satay chicken … shumai … gyoza … pad se ewe. Overall, I’d recommend this place. I lean towards take out though.

I will not be coming back here for the sushi. It was mediocre at best and the rolls were small and pricey. It took them about 15 min to make my two rolls. I got a spicy yelow tale and the bowling green role. it came with a soup and two small dumplings. The dumplings were pretty good. but very small and generic. The miso soup was way to watered down but they give you a pretty good amount of it… If i come back here again it will be to try the thai food because the sushi is a fail.

I have to admit, when I bought a gift certificate for this place my thinking was«Stone St. Everything on Stone St. is cute and nice!» Well, this place is on that non-fabulous block of Stone St. that isn’t contiguous with the rest of the street. That said, it’s very conveniently close to the ferry. It’s on the 2nd floor; you go up a flight of stairs to a dining room. There were no other customers there during my visit. I think they mostly concentrate on delivery — their Seamless Web kept announcing orders. It shows; the dining room is rather dingy and the windows are rather unpleasantly dusty. However, the host was very pleasant, and my food was absolutely four-star excellent. Generally, at any place that serves Japanese food and some other cuisine — I’ll go for the other cuisine. It’s usually better, in my experience. So I decided to go for a Thai dish. I got the mango tofu — and it exceeded all my expectations. Big, juicy chunks of mango, lots of tasty fried tofu squares, fresh, crisp vegetables, in a sweet yet just-spicy-enough chili sauce. $ 10. was a very reasonable menu price. I also ordered the ginger iced tea($ 3). It was so good! It was truly kick-ass gingery; they didn’t stint on the ginger syrup! So — based on the other reviews, I’d say, if you’re going here, definitely try the Thai dishes. I’d definitely go back — though I’d likely get take-out.

I ate light this time. Having ordered a miso soup [1*], steamed shrimp shumai [3*], and a black forest roll [3*], I had an okay dining experience. The upstairs location was bland Asian style décor with nothing notable. The music sucked and lighting was consistently dull. The host was very nice and I was in and out pretty quick(bonus). Not terrible but I wasn’t blown away. I’d eat here again if I was jonesing for sushi and needed it fast on a limited time-frame, but I probably wouldn’t come here with friends if I was looking for a special food experience. Maybe next time I’ll try the Thai food and see if that hold up better.

This restaurant failed on all fronts. I care foremost about food, not atmosphere or service, and I don’t give out poor ratings without good cause. Don’t bother with this place, even for a quick bite. I ordered the sushi lunch box for 12 bucks. It came with 2 pieces of tuna, 2 salmon, and one fish I couldn’t identify(squid maybe?) Plus 2 shumai and a watery miso soup. The shumai were the best part, in spite of tasting a bit fishy(the tangy sauce covered it up enough). The sushi tasted fishy as well. I’ve had better sushi at delis and grocery stores that let them sit out for hours. The pieces were on the small side and basically were not satisfying on any level. The soup was tasteless in spite of having a few small chunks of tofu and nori in it. I would compare the soup to a packaged miso soup that was overly watered down. As for atmosphere, the place is pretty minimalist. Even at noon the place was dimly lit with hardly any natural light. It was like a trendy café might look at night except without any candles, trendiness, or charm. As for service, I was in a hurry to finish lunch in the hour and accomplished my goal. Since there was hardly any food to eat, my actual meal lasted about 5 mins and the preparation took a puzzling 25 mins(the place was nearly empty and its not like you have to cook sushi). To add insult to injury, they charged for a cup of hot tea. No respectable japanese restaurant charges for hot green tea, yet I had 1.50 at the bottom of my bill proving the rule. All in all, spare yourself the disappointment. Go somewhere else to get your sushi fix.

For a place that boasts«the best Asian cuisine in financial district nyc», this place is anything but and needs to step up its game in a major way if it wants to live up to the claim. Website: will give you a trippy headache if you scroll down for more than 5 seconds. What this means is in trying to read the menu to figure out what you want for your next meal, you will lose the last meal you had. No joke. Delivery: quick and efficient Tom yum koong: watered down version of Thailand’s most famous soup at best. Barely sour, not spicy at all, though I saw some miniscule chili flakes floating about. Vegetables(onions, straw mushrooms, red and green peppers) were al dente and good. Sushi and sashimi dinner: comes with spicy tuna crunch roll, 5 pieces of sushi(unagi, white tuna, hamachi) and 10 pieces of sashimi(white tuna, mackerel, and unagi). Fish definitely not as fresh as they could be. Portions vary in size which points to poor knife, as pieces were not uniform at all. Roll had a hint of spiciness. Poorly made sushi rice(too sweet). Generally, fish quality was just ok. Roll was meh… Verdict: wouldn’t come here for either Japanese or Thai food unless desperate/craving either and no other alternatives available and willing to put up with mediocrity.

Passable, presentable Thai/Japanese in the FiDi. I don’t normally trust these fusion places since I rarely expect a restaurant to do one food well, let alone two, but this one skates by with adequate aplomb. The pad see ew is good enough, if strangely thin and insubstantial-feeling despite being a decent serving size, and the sushi passes the taste test with, if not quite flying, then hovering colors. All in all a reasonably priced, not terribly embarrassing place to take a friend visiting you at your workplace for lunch. It won’t exactly impress, but it probably won’t prompt anyone to quietly de-friend you on Facebook, neither.

While New York is one of the world’s culinary epicentres, the financial district is definitely at the ass end of it. I unfortunately work right at the bottom of it. After three consecutive days of homemade lunches, I know it’s impressive, I needed a release. Bored of the usual offerings I turned to Unilocal for anything remotely Thai. Admittedly any restaurant that has the words Asian Fusion as the first two in its name should be treated with a great deal of scepticism, but I was desperate and bitterly cold. The menu is split between Thai and Japanese. The interior is a little dim and murky, I was only there for takeout so perhaps should not be judging the ambience or lack of. I ordered the chilli basil rice noodles. $ 11, five minute wait. I got back to my desk and hoovered them down, nothing to do with the flavour, just a lunchtime need to feel satiated. Upon reflection they weren’t so bad, decent amounts of basil and a little kick of chilli. The rice noodles were pretty oily, but they are a naturally heavy noodle. Can anyone help with financial district lunch time woes?

I am going to give this place on four star as compared to other lunch places in the Financial District and not compared to overall restaurants. It is a cute place and yes they do shuffle chairs around to make tables for either party of two or four. The lighting is dim and they have a bar. I had cold sake it was ok. I went on a very rainy day so the place was not crowded. The place itself is not a very nosy place, so it is ideal for a group who want to be able to hear each other speak. I went around 1 and got a table right away. I got the vegetable spring rolls and they came in four small rolls with duck sauce. It was pretty crispy and tasty for what it was. I also got the Pad Kra Pao(* sauteed with basil leave, onions, mushroom and pepper) which was not very spicy but was salty. It tasted pretty decent and it was a good size portion(although you shouldn’t expect leftovers). I asked for brown rice and they accomodated it. The actual dish was 11 bucks and I think that was a great deal. My friend got the shrimp pad thai and she ate the whole thing without any complaints. Since it wasn’t crowded, they let us hang around without giving us the eyes. I think for a decent meal around the Financial District where you want to sit down and have a quiet Asian Fusion(Thai or Japanese) meal, then this is a good choice.

In the quest for a reliable lunch spot in the food wasteland that is the Financial District, I really thought this place had potential, hence the three stars. Kind of an aggregate. I came here several times over the course of last year and the food and service became progressively bad. The service is staggered — if you order the Pad Thai or something equally safe, you’ll get your food quickly, but god forbid you order something slightly off the beaten path — you’ll end up waiting for a while. And your colleagues will just stare daggers at you for forcing them to be polite and wait while their Pad Thai gets cold. The décor is off-putting and the last(and possibly final time) I came here, the waiter’s were playing musical chairs with the seating. So we had something to watch while waiting for our food. It was very unsettling and the odd thing was that they weren’t rearranging the seats for a large party or anything. It seemed to be on a whim. The food is not so spectacular that you’d ignore the rest of the weirdness. I just hop on the R and go to Chinatown if my hankering for the spicy/sour/sweet of Thai calls.
