General Tso is so good! I love that they have an option on how spicy you would like it. Very fresh and delicious. I usually get the combo that comes with egg roll, rice & meat.

The pork and broccoli dish was on point — props to Asian Wok for being there for me, when most other Chinese joints in the neighborhood close for the evening! Super tender meat, piping hot when I got it. Props to the friendly staff for doing their thing. Obviously this is Americanized Chinese food, if you want the authentic stuff, hoof your way to Chinatown.

What I ordered — «Heavenly Chicken». Described on their menu as «White meat chicken, battered, deep fried to golden brown with celery, carrot, baby corn and straw mushrooms stir fried in sesame honey sauce».(sic) What I received — chicken prepared in the manner of sweet and sour chicken. About what I expected so far. Sadly though the whole mess was simply drowned in that same red, cloyingly sweet, sweet & sour sauce. No sesame honey. This was flat out sweet & sour chicken. Adding insult to injury there was NO celery, NO mushrooms, two slices of RAW carrots and a SINGLE ear of baby corn sliced into four discs. No wonder the vegetable ingredients weren’t pluralized in the dish. How was it you may ask? If you don’t get what you ordered it doesn’t matter how good it is. Frankly though it was boring. With no vegetables to break things up every bite was soggy, sticky, sweet & sour chicken. Nothing heavenly about it. Also — when you order directly from their website you are asked when you want it delivered. Mighty convenient if you’re having it delivered to work. Convenient that is if your request isn’t simply ignored like mine was. Nothing like a vaguely warm sticky mass waiting for you after your meeting when you were expecting hot Heavenly Chicken. DOUBLEFAIL from a first time customer.

Average Chinese take out place. Got a lunch special of broccoli chicken with a side of brown rice. It’s not as greasy and as salty as other Chinese take out places I’ve been to. The portion size was decent for the price. The food took a while to come out tho, so if you have a short lunch break and want a quick bite, you might have problem with the time. They have a few tables for eat in as well

The food here is really inconsistent. Sometime good, sometimes bad. Tonight, the order arrived almost 30 minutes late. So for Chinese food, it was kind of a mess. One entrée was totally inedible. When I called about the order being late, the lady at the restaurant seemed to want to help. When I called back about the bad food, no help… It’s not really bad or good, but there are better options after this experience…

I never really write negative reviews about places, but I was really disappointed in this place. We ordered two different chicken dishes(General Tso and Sesame). They were both basically the same chicken, but one had sesame seeds spread on top of it. I ordered a wonton soup, and I got egg drop. What made the most disappointed was the demeanor of the man who delivered our food. He called from downstairs, and someone literally walked out the door to go down to get the food. Before they could get down the three flights to meet him, he called back and literally screamed at me telling me that I needed to hurry and get down there. It just wasn’t a good experience, and it was disappointing too since so many other Chinese Restaurants in the neighborhood have disappeared. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s cheap, but not even worth the money you save!

I wanted Chicken and Broccoli… Yes, I know… It’s not real chinese food… It was awful. It was bland, and there were blocks of I think starch(or whatever they put in the sauce to thicken it) in the sauce… This is below average American Chinese food. The egg roll was your generic frozen egg rolls and that wasn’t bad. I guess if that’s an indication get some of the fried stuff.

HAHAHA, I am reading some of these reviews and I just had to laugh. This is NOT authentic Chinese food from China, it is decent, better than average NYC Chinese Take Out. Like someone before me said, good stay in watch a movie on a cold winter night. I love the Fried Veggie Dumplings and the Chow Fun is pretty great. Average price and just glad it is in the neighborhood on those nights I feel like indulging and staying in. Stick to the basics and you’ll be just fine. Enjoy

I found out about this restaurant through a co-worker who loved their food. Though I can only speak for delivery orders, this is just another average Chinese restaurant. My favorite dish is usually chicken, beef, or shrimp with broccoli. Of the three, I’ve only tried their beef so far. As is my usual complaint with these types of restaurants, the food is sometimes a hit or miss. One day the beef was cooked pretty well, and another day it was chewy and a little questionable. Also, initially the sauce was a little off-putting as it was more on the reddish side than the standard brown garlic sauce I’m used to, but was still pretty flavorful. Overall, the restaurant is on the pricey side considering that the portions are smaller than other restaurants in the area. Eggrolls are half size and though you’re supposed to get six chicken wings, what I received were winglets — three chicken wings cut in half — which weren’t really good for sharing as was the original intention. And, while the sectional takeout dishes are convenient for travel, they can become a little annoying for someone who likes to mix food. As to service and delivery, it can also be a hit or miss. Of course placing the order is easy, and the response/delivery time is pretty average — nothing I’ve had to worry over, yet. If I had to warn of anything, it’d be that some days the food comes nice and hot, and other days it has been barely lukewarm.

As average as average gets for Chinese. I’m no connoisseur, but this one was on par with many other places I’ve been to. The food wasn’t bad, and it scratched the Chinese food itch I had going on. I found it funny that the food tasted much better when I ate the leftovers cold than it was when I got it hot off the stove. I will say the portion size was more than reasonable for lunch. It was $ 7 and change, and I basically got two meals out of it. Hard to beat in the city, especially in the Financial District. I will likely go back because it is the closest Chinese place to my office, but if I had the option of going somewhere else, I probably would.

I recently started going to this little hidden gem. The food is always fresh. Staff pleasant enough and it’s enough food on the lunch menu to satisfy. I’m not sure why it only has 2 stars… I love this place

Fast delivery, food was hot when it arrived. I got hot and sour soup and the general tso’s chicken combo(medium spice). Pretty cheap, around 11 – 12 bucks with tip. Standard Americanized Chinese food which is what I was looking for. If you want authentic Chinese food, go to Chinatown.

If I could give negative stars, I would. How do I put this gently: there are raccoons who would turn down this food. If ass could be hooked up to a nuclear reactor and thereby turned into turbocharged super atomic ass with racing stripes, and then served with your choice of white or brown rice, you would have the food at this place. Look, I used to live in China, so I LOVE! proper authentic Chinese and I know what it tastes like. But on this occasion, against my better judgment, a few of my mainland Chinese colleagues convinced me to order from this place telling me how they order from here all the time and that it’s good. They unaccountably enjoy the food from here, which begs the question, how is it possible that Chinese people who grew up on the real thing somehow can’t taste ass when they’re shoveling it into their mouths three times a day?!

I ordered lunch from Asian Wok after I found their info on . I was craving Chinese food and their prices seemed reasonable. Now, I know why! I ordered the sesame chicken with white rice and egg roll lunch combo. When I received it, it was a strange reddish color which I have never seen before! I tasted it and the sauce that they used wasn’t sesame chicken sauce. It was sweet and sour! It tasted gross! Needless to say, I couldn’t finish it. Do not order from them!

This restaurant is so terrible! I just ordered a chicken with broccoli and I am so «surprised“to eat a staple in my food! I cannot image what will happen if I swallow it and get stuck with it!

Not great and not awful basic American Chinese food. Had a beef with broccoli lunch special and a spring roll. Beef was tender as was the broccoli, sauce was ok but pretty watery, fried rice was a little bland and was just vegetable fried rice as opposed to Roast Pork. Spring roll was small and all you really tasted was the crust. Ordered online and it came very fast and prices were fair for Manhattan.

What is with all the bad reviews? Good for watching a movie at home and eating lots of carbs. Filling. Leftovers to pick on later or even the next day. Cheap. Classic«New York style» Chinese food. If you’re looking for something different, «upscale» or «healthy, go to Mr. Chows. Unless you have a terrible experience with delivery or a wrong order or a cockroach in your food, don’t be so harsh! You get what you pay for and the food isn’t even bad.

Ordered food for me and two other friends, items included fried rice, shrimp, various meats & broccoli, and pork dumplings. We’ve been trying a lot of Asian restaurants lately since we just moved near Chinatown, but we all agreed that this place’s food wasn’t good at all.

Not good at all– don’t do it! Sesame chicken is gooey, rice is soggy, cold sesame noodles taste awful. Order elsewhere

I’ve ordered a few times. Fast delivery. Pretty inexpensive. Brown friend rice as opposed to yellow(which I prefer). Fairly standard Chinese fast food; a touch more Americanized… think more like fast food at the mall. Sesame Chicken, General Tso’s, etc.
