Atmananda Das, your teacher and guide, will take you through a profound personal experience through the practice of ancient Sanskrit texts and wisdom and teach you preactical skills that you can take away not only for yourself, but to expand the consciousness of your future students. He wants each of his students to walk away with the pure essence of Yoga and breaks down the concepts and systems in a way that you understand the true essence of Yoga and can build on just about any practice, rather than teach you the external results of Yoga that make you look like a good teacher. This way a great tree can grow from strong roots — rather than carrying a dead pile of sticks pulled from the branches of Yoga.
I will not say the training will change your life — as life is cyclical — rather it will fundamentally change how you view and deal with your life everyday.

I took part in the ‘Atma Yoga Teacher Training’ this past June and could not have been more pleased. I tell everyone who will listen that if they’re thinking about becoming a yoga teacher, this is definitely the place to go. I have been practicing yoga for about 10 years and have been wanting to get certified as a teacher for quite some time now. Due to working and attending grad school full-​time, I didn’t think I would be able to commit the necessary time. Then when I came across this training, it seemed ideal for me, offering an online program, along with a 10-​day intensive studio program (which conveniently takes place several times throughout the year). I decided to meet with Atmananda before registering to discuss my needs and that was what brought me to the conclusion that this would be the training for me. Atma, and his partner Taruni, are amazing and the whole vibe of the studio is very welcoming. In between yoga and the lectures/​workshops, the group eats breakfast together (prepared by the lovely Taruni) and then eats an Indian meal right across the street from the studio for lunch. Both Atmananda and Taruni simply radiate positive and joyful energy, and truly do everything they can to be as available as possible to each and every one of their students. I would highly recommend you to take Atma’s yoga training. You will leave as not only a well prepared yoga teacher, but also a more enlightened soul, with a better and deeper understanding of yourself! (and you will make lasting friendships with your fellow yogis. It is also by far, the least expensive and most convenient training in LA)

I am really happy with the teacher training that I received from Atma Yoga. For many years, I was looking for teaching program that had more than just the yoga postures. I wanted a training that could expand my knowledge of yoga and deepen my practice.

I just completed the 12 day intensive training course in April. This is a very well rounded program. It was a truly transformative experience and I highly recommend the training to those who wish to get more out of their training than just learning asanas.
When I began searching for yoga teacher training programs, I was seeking a school that was affordable, efficient and more spiritually focused. I have been practicing yoga for over a decade and finally decided to teach. However, I desired to not only obtain my certification, but also deepen my own practice.

I took this training nine years ago and it really opened my mind. It was much more than learning the physical yoga which was what I was expecting. It turned out to be a fascinating journey into eastern history, philosophy and spirituality that challenged who I thought I was (in a good way). Even though I had been practicing yoga for a couple of years before I took this course, it was the Atma Yoga Teacher training that started me on my own personal journey of discovery. All in all a positive growth experience that keeps on giving.

I discovered Atma Yoga Teacher-​Training pretty much by accident. I really wanted to apprentice with my current yoga teacher and was looking for a quick way to get my 200-​level training done so that I could continue on to the 300-​level. I was happy to find a local place that offered a 12 day intensive training course and that was reasonably priced. Atma provides a very intense program that pushes you outside your comfort zone and helps you dive inward to discover things about your «true self» that you may not have known. The training class was a small group which allowed me to make some solid relationships with my fellow students. This is a highly spiritual training that will really make you think about how you live your life and what kind of energy you want to present to the world. This class is not highly focused on alignment, but will move you in ways you would not expect. Overall, you will walk away changed… for the better…

This is my first ever review on Unilocal but I felt compelled to tell people how much I enjoyed the experience. I did the teacher training last January and learned so much. I was fairly new to yoga but the teachers could not have been more friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. I think anyone will greatly benefit from part taking in this experience, from very advanced to novice. It was truly a life changing and eye opening experience!

I enjoyed the training imensely and left there with an imporved experience of life that continues. Atma Yoga teacher training offers a fresh and unique course developed from a deep knowledge of ancient history, form, and yogic practices. The teaching encourages contemplation of our original soul nature and is grounded through understanding our soul’s journey into the «virtual reality» of our modern society. As a student of Atma Yoga I have attained a greater awareness, using sound vibration to tune into the part of me that is niether physical body or mind but soul. Much of this is discovered through sound vibration and its impact through meditation.
