Avalon Bowery Place

Just an extraordinarily well-​run building (actually two buildings across the street from each other). Repairs are always completed within a day, and usually within a few hours. The staff people at the door and «behind the scenes» are not only friendly, but extremely competent and professional. The people in the management/​leasing office are friendly and seem to genuinely care about the quality of life for the residents. My apartment is well appointed (most apartments have a washer and dryer), with an exceptionally good layout that lends itself well to both entertaining and house guests.
The location can’t be beat and is what originally drew me to Avalon Bowery. We are a block from Whole Foods, a block from the subway, and within a few minutes walk of some of the best restaurants in the city (including my favorite high-​end restaurant, which is in our building). The entire downtown arts scene is at our doorstep including galleries, exciting theater, dance, and music performances, and the NYC Fringe Festival.

First, this is a great area to live. You have access to all the best neighborhoods. I’ve lived in both buildings and enjoyed each one for different reasons. I enjoy the door men, the lounge, and roof top at both. 22 was more low key with less units in the building. 11 has a lot more units and access to the gym in the building. The people in the leasing office are great. This has been one of the most enjoyable living experiences in my 11 years in the city.
