Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.

Do yourself a favor and skip this. Took both of my kids and over half of the interactive exhibits were broken. The management at the site said «we just manage the exhibit and can’t get the owners in to make repairs». Total waste of money. Save your dough and do something better in the Times Square area.

My friend and I thought this would be a good way to pass the time in the evening. We’re huge MCU fans, and we heard that there would be interactive activities. To start off, the card that came out of the machine at the beginning of the exhibit wasn’t the standard blue one, it was the gift shop orange one sans picture. My guess is they ran out of blue passes. Now there’s a big empty white space on it.
[IMPORTANT!] If you’re going between Aug. 20^th and Sep. 8^th, be aware they’ve probably run out of supplies.
Much like what everyone else has said, most of the interactive activities are indeed broken, or your name won’t register on the high score board. The tesseract doesn’t spin, and they turned off the Thor’s hammer hologram that a few earlier reviews mentioned.
We ended up paying full price for this, what a mistake. This was probably enjoyable when it first opened, but it’s broken now and because it’s so close to closing, it’s clear there are no plans to fix it up.

I went with my wife and we paid around 60 $ we ended seeing lights and fake suits

Very short exhibit. They should have made it like the csi exhibit and give you a mission. There was very little information about the movies or set. There was nothing about black widow. My daughter and I were very disappointed. Do not waste your time.

SAVE YOUR MONEY NOT WORTH IT! The machines were broken done and was boring as Hell! The only cool part was getting your ID

AVOID! Not good at all. The «displays» are trivial. Most of the technology was broken and not as educational as they seem to think. The employees went between apologetically helpful to bored.
If your kids like the Avengers, go see the movie or play with them. But if you want an interactive experience, there are much better experiences in Manhattan.

Yeah paid 27.00 for an interactive experience… hmmm yeah um For a bunch of broken tech its hard to believe that its S.h.i.e.l.d worthy
Couldn’t take photos or do much when yo have the employees BREATHING down your neck. They looked like a bunch of Zombie employees who could careless and made the place seem dull and boring.
So if it was better with a mini game of some sort in the beginning of the Interactive Experience I probably would say 27.00 is worth it. Seriously you should be getting a bit more than oh look at this stuff experience and oh I’m sorry our Tech doesn’t work at the moment!

Are you ready to join the ranks of the Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement & Logistics Division (S.H.I.E.L.D.)? So you think you’re tougher than Thor? Smarter than Tony Stark? Hotter than the Black Widow? Have a sweeter personality than the Hulk? Well, you’re going to have to go through the Scientific Training and Tactical Intelligence Operative Network (S.T.A.T.I.O.N.) if you want to be part of the Avengers Initiative.
At least that’s the cover story for this Marvel superheroes exhibit at Discovery Times Square based on the movies of the Avengers/​Iron Man/​Captain America/​Hulk story arc. Costumes of all the major characters are displayed for your fanboy oogling pleasure. One thing you’ll notice is that Scarlett Johansson’s «Black Widow» costume is much better endowed in the boob department than Cobie Smulders’ «Maria Hill» uniform, even though Cobie is much taller than Scarlett. Eyes are up here, Hawkeye!
Plus you see Samuel L. Jackson’s «Nick Fury» costume complete with the bullet hole he received in «Captain America: The Winter Soldier»
Many of the interactive exhibits are triggered by an ID card you make at the sign-​in kiosks, making it a more tailored experience for each person. There are no obstacle courses, but there are mental and physical challenges to see how you stack up against the likes of Captain America. But it’s just too bad that some of them were broken or non-​functioning. My favorite was the virtual Iron Man simulator where you get to don the Iron Man armor (on screen)**, fly around and shoot up targets with your repulsors.
This is the kind of stuff you dreamed about when you were a kid reading your Marvel comics with a flashlight under the covers at 1am on a school night.
I’m not sure why, but they are uptight about no photography allowed in the exhibit to the point where they have people watching over you like you were a Hydra double-​agent trying to sneak out the plans for Iron Man’s next generation titanium underwear. Other similar exhibits I’ve seen, like the Star Trek one in Las Vegas, really encouraged customers to take pictures,
especially with cast members dressed up as Starfleet, Klingons and Ferengi to bring more of the fantasy to life,
but it fell flat here.
The exhibit was well executed, but a little sparse and could have used some more content. Being based solely on the movies, they limited themselves and excluded all the history, characters and plots for which the Marvel universe is so famous, like the Star Wars and Star Trek universes (is my geeky showing?) I have to admit that this is a good marketing ploy and lead in to the «Age of Ultron» sequel hitting the theaters this summer.
Our tickets were BOGO, so the price was reasonable at 2 for $ 27, but you still had to pay the additional $ 4 service charge for each ticket, plus tax. At the end is the requisite gift shop to pick up your t-​shirts and mugs to commemorate your visit. I have to say that the items for sale were also reasonably and not gouge-​your-​wallet prices like other tourist spots. I think I spent more time and had more fun doing this review than actually being there. It’s still a pretty good way to spend a couple of hours with your kids and feed your inner kid’s imagination.

**You think they’d let you near a walking armored arsenal? What if you had to pee in the suit or worse, #2 or even #3?!

Fun experience and very cool setup! Only downside I have is that you couldn’t take pictures. There’s some cool stuff to look at but not enough to justify regular price tickets, especially when we can’t take pictures to show our family and friends. Luckily, we got our discounted tickets at Costco which made it worthwhile.

Prepare to pay $ 27 for a 20 minute experience. Therefore, google coupon codes…
The coolest aspect about this experience was getting the personalized agent card… makes a person feel extra special, you know? This card pretty much activates all the activities in the station. Though a handful of the machines are down… and most aren’t really suitable for children. They are rather bland and children would not understand the concept. The only thing that captivated them was the touch screen monitors. The kids I was with, had more fun at Toys R’ Us than at the station.

Everything was great, especially learning the science part of everything. It would be even cooler if we can have a mission or something to have an even more interactive experience.

The interactive exhibits were very unique and unlike any thing I’ve used before. It was a great way to spend the afternoon and joyful end to our family vacation.

This was a cool experience! Highly recommend!

I loved the hour+ I spent here. What I didn’t love was how a handful of the interactive computers/​activities were broken down or faulty. Some of the activities DESPERATELY needed tweaking to enhance performance, but since I visited a few months ago, I’m hoping this issue has already been addressed.
As a big Marvel fan, I was into it. If it cost less, or I knew everything worked, I would go again.

Fantastic experience! I wish that we could have taken pictures, but it was terrific to walk through and look at everything.

My nieces really liked it but several stations were not working and my nieces kept saying «Hotguy» instead of «Hawkeye» and refused to call him by his right name so we left and I did not let them get cupcakes.

NOT WORTH $ 25 each. I thought the exhibit was «okay,» but I have to admit, the second I learned that I would not be able to photograph ANY part of it, that put bullet holes in my thrill and excitement of seeing one of my favorite movie franchises … anything to do with Marvel comics… in a hands-​on exhibit. I don’t read the comics, never have, never will, but I absolutely love how they bring these comic book characters to life… through RDJ, Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, ScarJo, and whoever else I’ve forgotten to mention. What, pray tell, would be so terrible if we photographed all the wonderful costumes that our favorite characters wear, or the displays about S.H.I.E.L.D. and how we compare to Capt. America… or how Dr. Banner ingested too much gamma whatever it is. When I AM allowed to photograph the greatest paintings on this earth, but I canNOT photograph the Ironman costume, something is grossly off-​kilter. I don’t want to hear a word about copyright infringement or anything remotely close to that. It’s a comic book character. Who cares if I want to photograph that? It’s not the Mona Lisa. It’s not a Michaelangelo, Picasso or anything else… I can photograph anything by any of them… but nothing to do with Marvel. It’s just wrong.
If I could have photographed the exhibit, it would have been a lot more fun for me, so that when I returned home to tell my nephews about it, I could have also shown them. Instead, I said nothing because they won’t be able to appreciate what I’m talking about. Words fail in comparison… and yes, a picture is ALWAYS worth a thousand words. LET PEOPLE TAKE PICTURES.

The exhibit has potential, but almost nothing was fully functional when we visited. It is a rather small exhibition, and for the price, everything should have been functional. They shouldn’t have had it open for full price when so much of it was broken.
The gift shop for the exhibit was really great, though. The prices were about average and they had a lot of Marvel stuff I don’t usually see. You don’t have to pay to go into the gift shop, though. If you’re interested in finding some fun Marvel swag, I would just skip the exhibit and go straight to the shop.

I love marvel (especially Thor cough cough)… This was the most disappointing exhibit I’ve ever been to in discovery Times Square :(
Google coupon for a 20% to print out… Bc this is not worth your money if you are not a kid. Before entering the exhibit, you get an agent ID card printed out with your name in it, this card is for scanning at different «tests» that you will be doing. After watching a screen with clips from the avengers movie… You proceed through these really cool wall structures where you do really feel like your at shield head quarters… The first room is captain hero & all the tests that you do, are really to compare your strength and body to that of captain America. This would be great for kids.
The hulk section had some cool special effects … It’s just all lasers and sound effects. The tests were lame… But for kids, they would probably have a lot of fun thinking that their DNA was really being integrated by gamma rays…
Black widow section is tiny! Come to think of it, there really wasn’t anything much on her. All I remember was her costume.
Thor section… COME ON WTH THERE WAS NOTHING COOL! Only a hologram of his hammer and something about space and the solar system?! His costume was on display, but that’s it!!! What about his awesome body??! Why don’t they have a test where I can see how our kids would look like ???
Finally, iron man exhibit was the only one worth paying for. Flight simulation but not really… Watching your mirror image transform into iron man… Some kind of brain eye activity thing… Anyways come if you have young kids who like to touch and try everything. Don’t come if you were expecting to see anything sexy of Thor or black widows. You will be highly disappointed, just like me.
1 star for iron man, 1 star for the possibility that kids will love this place.
