This place is very racist. Yesterday, my friend and I are African Americans and he’s in the Navy. While he was in uniform and we both had tickets from Eventbrite and they said that the website was committing fraud we couldn’t even pay to get in. An old French guy shook his head to the bouncer and that was a wrap.

I’ve never been to a nightclub with so many girls, the place was packed and about 80−90% girls, attractive crowd. Great music(mostly rap) and good space(lots of tables and couch space to dance on). We came with a promoter and there was a girl in our group that they would not let in because she was slightly overweight so the bouncers are kinda dicks, but that goes for most places in nyc.

BEWAREOFYOURCHARGES! Pay with cash! The bartenders here think they are slick. I was charged more than what I wrote. Changing my receipt to 3 to 8 is not smart.(yes, i will be disputing it and yes, I have the transactions #) I saw the first mistake on my receipt when I received my text and I tested on another bartender and they did the same thing. SHADYYYYYYYYYY All the workers think they are superior or something. Ever heard of the phrase,“excuse me” from busboy to table service to security. They would shoved and push you(and step on your toes) through the dance floor like you are nothing. We get it — -it’s small — we are human as well. Please be courteous to your patrons. They try to charge my guy friend for $ 200 and when we attempted to leave they change it to $ 40. AGAIN they make their own rules apparently. How did my friend get her coat when I had her coat check ticket in the first place… bad business practice. The music was good. Props to the only worker who probably know what they are doing.

Pretty disappointing club. First thing is I never know if or when I’m getting in(which is crazy cause it isn’t that good of a club). Once I showed up me and my friend and 7 girls… They let all our female friends in but said me and my friend had to pay 300 each we laughed and left with the ladies(bouncers are dumb). Another time my gf and I had a promoter and were in a group but I ended up having to wait outside for 25 minutes in the snow!!! I finally go in and meet up with the group and the club is like empty… WHYWAS I WAITINGOUTSIDEINTHESNOW! The music was dreadful too… Like 80% of the songs I had no clue what they were and no one could dance to the music lol. So long story short there are so many better places to go out in NYC don’t fall for the name of Avenue.

I went here last night with three of my girlfriends and was told by the bouncer my option was to pay a significant amount of money for either the bar or table. When we decided that was definitely not what we were trying to spend for a regular Friday night, he turned to the guy next to him and laughed stating, «Sorry but we just don’t accept broke bitchs here.» I don’t know what kind of stuck up qualifications this place has but nobody should ever make such a remark. Definitely WON’T go here again, not going to support any place that has rude and judgmental people.

Came here on a Thursday night for our firm’s holiday party. The evening began with a self-serve buffet and open bar. The upstairs open bar was very disappointing — there was an extremely limited selection of alcohol and when I ordered a martini they didn’t even have any martini glasses! How does a bar/club have zero martini glasses at one of their bars? Food was decent, not mind blowing. The mac & cheese was too cheesy but the sushi must have been amazing because that plate was always empty every time I got up. We eventually migrated downstairs to a table with bottle service for the remainder of the evening. The crowd/scene is definitely upscale/older and caters towards the wealthy club-enthusiasts. The light show was pretty amazing and the music was the typical DJ mix. Depending on the scene you’re aiming for there are certainly better clubs in the city.

Best club for the past year or so in NYC. It’s always a good time, sick beats, kewl sound system, usually good and hype crowd. I love it. Most other places fell off but this just keeps getting stronger and more stable. I could sit in this place for hours and shazaam my azz off, or I could get turnt af and have a ball. Either way, its lit.

I called to see what time they opened… was told 11pm. Arrived 20 minutes after that. The bouncer said they open at 11:45 now. I get your job is supposed to make people feel unimportant just so that you could feel SO important. So disrespectful ! Pretends to be a «high class» place but leaves a lady coming from dinner in the rain just to build a «line». Absolutely disgusting.

0STARS!!! As some other people on here have said, this club is extremely RACIST. I am hispanic and I’ve tried to get into this club with my white friend 4 times with different promoters, different bouncers, etc and every time we got denied. The owner is this pretentious, perv-y, racist French guy who only lets models in. Fuck him.

If I could I would give this place zero stars! I came to NYC to visit from California and I have never been treated with more disrespect than I have here. The bouncers are extremely pretentious just as other reviews have mentioned and they seem to only let the ugly girls in. Im talking about the frumpy looking girls that wear no makeup, sneakers, and cardigans to this club. Its rediculous! The bouncer also threw a girl down in front of us because she had to get out the club and was asking for her coat check to be brought out since they werent letting her back and and he literally threw her to the floor! ITWASDISGUSTING! This bar is full of little loser ass male bouncers who never amounted to anything in life but to hit women. Hate this place and the people who work here are a complete and utter joke! If you want to have a good time I suggest you go elsewhere.

Went for the AMA charity event last night. Gorgeous venue, with a well designed northern wall(you have to look ALL the way up to see what i mean) complete with mirrors, art and more. The waitstaff is incredibly hot in those sleek red dresses. Security was super nice, but it helps that I always approach a door as a gentleman(can’t let them know I’m a filthy scoundrel! lol). Anyway, I really loved the look and feel. The crowd was a lot of fun. I’d probably avoid on weekends, since 1OAK and this place likely have run-off from each other. Count me back. Glad it lived up to my expectation.

Do not come here. We were a group of 10 hot girls who met a promoter who told us all we had to do was buy a bottle of cheap champagne and the rest of the drinks were on him. When we get there he tells us we have a $ 600 minimum. Okay. Then at the end of the night when we get our bill we find out that gratuity has been added after the waitress lied and said it had not been. Everything about this place was horrendous, avoid at all costs.

–1 stars. Horrible service, the bouncer actually told me «you’re full of shit» before he let me in. Then my sister was physically harassed several times by the waiter. The cherry on top of the cake was at the end, as we were walking out of the door and towards our lyft, another bouncer for some unknown reason told us to hurry up and leave, which was our plan all along, I’m not sure why he thought we needed the encouragement. The place would be ok, if it wasn’t for the staff, but still not one of the best in NYC, not even close. I wouldn’t waist my time with this place again.

Went with 3 girls and two guys an hour before we closed @ 3am. They wanted to charge they guys $ 200 a person. They said we are in business to make money and by now you will only have one drink each. So $ 200 per guy or you don’t get in. So ridiculous for a carpet club. AVOIDAVOIDAVOID!

Worst service!!! Rude people from the bouncers to the servers. Will never go back. At one point the server poked and pushed me forcefully and said«If you don’t move I will move you», I have never been so disrespected. I even told him that all I wanted was mutual respect. It’s incredible that these people even have these jobs. It is NOT a difficult place to get in to, but once you’re in it is NOT a good experience. Don’t bother.

Man this place gets so crowded. Like sardines in a tin. Probably just let anybody through the door. I’d rather go upscale in one of the nearby clubs or full dive somewhere else. No place for a wannabe fancy lounge that’s really just a plan B processing plant.

This is one of the worst clubs in nyc. Racist as hell you have to be tall and blonde(white) to get in. And you have to wear like no clothes and heels. It was fucking freezing i was not going to wear a fucking mini dress and stripper heels .the crazy thing is that the bouncers are black and only let white girls in… smh they make you wait for forever even with a promoter. The inside is small and crowded as hell can’t even dance or move the staff is awful as well. DOMTWASTEYOURTIMEIFYOUAREANYTHINGOTHERTHANWHITETALLANDBLOND!!!

If I could give this place less than one start I would. I understand that bars want to allow good looking girls in to attract more male customers. I work in marketing. I get it. But, a size 2 is not the only good looking girl. My friend and I both got dressed up to go to this bar and got in touch with a promoter beforehand and still could not get in because apparently we did not meet the size criteria of pre-pubescent female. We stood there and watched them let in girl after girl with fake IDs who were size zero thin and because we are average sized over 21 year old women we were denied entry. We even came with a large group of girls some of whom were under the age of 21 but all of whom were under a size 2 and they were all allowed entry while we were asked to step to the side. In the end I was ok with not going in because if I wanted to party with a bunch of children I would’ve gone back to high school.

Come Here to Look Good and Be Seen amongst others following the same thought… I like that’s not a fugly looking bar but it is packed and Not in a Fun way. We went in here and got to skip the line Thanks to my friend who apparently knows his stuff! So I can’t comment on the Bouncers… they might be great… Once inside I tried to enjoy myself just because the place looks so awesome. Due to the fact that it is shaped as a long corridor, it is narrow. There is an upstairs deck type of area but not many people were there and its also a narrow space. On the main floor there are benches or tables? not sure, but they are placed along the walls. Here, you can stand and dance a couple of feet off the ground, reserving the area for the group as the champaign bottles come to you! That looked somewhat fun but how can you dance in such a restricted place? After getting bumped into a little too much I found it quite annoying. We ended up leaving this Glam place ASAP. At this point I CAN comment on the front door /bouncers. I was waiting for my friend to join me near the entrance to Leave, when one of the guys at the door let me know very directly to move! I tried to tell him I was leaving and not just hanging out there but he didn’t want to hear it, just told me to move. It wasn’t a bid deal, it was Not pleasant either. I just wanted to leave and find somewhere less«look at me» and more Lets Have a Good Time!

When you look back on your time here on earth and you remember NYC All Star Weekend 2015 what will you remember? I will remember looking like a million bucks, Freezing my legs off in the ice cold weather and being denied entry to an establishment based on the color my skin, the friendly people and hanging out with NBA rookies. The only parts of that associated with Avenue is the freezing my legs off and being denied admittance due to my race and color. I am hip to the night life, and have been getting into trendy clubs for over 10 years. I know the ebbs and flow. I get that to be the IT club you have to have people vying to get in. I don’t mind supporting in the wait outside for a little bit(even though I am honestly not used to waiting before getting in anywhere) I waited patiently without too much dramatics but after about 15 minutes and being at the front of the line, I respectfully asked the bouncer about the likelihood of being admitted. He then surveyed myself and my party(two beautiful women) and told me to wait a minute. He then proceeded to let several people in who were dressed in jeans and sneakers, and some in winter boots. Not to cause a dramatic scene I asked if there was a bottle service requirement and he told me to just be patient and not to worry. He again lets a large wave of European people who were not on any list in. Taken a back I started to get a little annoyed but did not show this because I was curiously watching the to see if there was any set formula or method to the madness. My friends became increasingly annoyed and one of my friends asked him directly what the requirements for admittance was and if certain groups had«preferential treatment». He then looked at her and said it was not a race thing and pointed out the fact that he let in some«Spanish people». My friends and I became visibly offended and he told us to just wait our turn. I was offended because a race card was thrown down instantly and he justified admitting Europeans from Spain into a club and referenced them in an attempt to silence the voices of beautiful women of color. I don’t take rejection badly because it’s NYC and I get the club world has an image to uphold. But it is not okay to make race based admittances, It is not okay to qualify your racist policies by showing that you have an ethnic quota allowance and base it on European admittance, and it is not okay in essence to tell women of color to sit and wait while treating other people whom are not being respectful like higher class citizens. I would not be mad if the African American bouncer had not used race to bar admittance into a night club. I believe racial discrimination is illegal even if the person that is discriminating is of the same ethnic group. Avenue needs to get their stuff together because I would not be surprised if someone tapes and sues them for making statements like this in the future.

This place is racist!!! If you have remotely any pigmentation in your skin color do not waste your time trying to get in here. The African American bouncer standing outside is willingly participating in the debauchery so don’t be fooled! I hate to write a review like this but when you see yourself getting passed up entry for every European person walking by you you just can’t help but notice. Once it happened several times I noticed the pattern and realized that i was clearly wasting my time. They clearly only want the majority of clientele to be only one skin color and it’s not mine or anyone else I was with. I am never ever coming here again and I would not recommend anyone else do so either! Sad that in NYC in 2015 this still occurs.

Unisex bathrooms? Who came up with that great idea? #sarcasm I don’t intend to sound sexist or misogynistic in any way, but women do, on average, spend a much longer time in the bathroom than men. The disparity in the length of our bathroom visits is one reason why single-sex restrooms have existed and thrived ever since the invention of indoor plumbing. If Avenue really wants to shake things up with modern ideas about forced integration then they need to, at the very least, equip the club with more toilets. I had to wait in line for over an hour. I didn’t intend to spend my night out standing behind drunk party girls and listening while they complained about their full bladders. If the line to the restroom wasn’t so long I would have spent more money buying drinks at your bar. Unisex bathrooms are costing you business!

Un certain John Datri m’a appelé en me disant: «ok, this IS what happend…»
