This place is so underrated. Every time I’m in NYC, I always stop in and get a plain with garlic and herb cream cheese. I literally just got one yesterday and again today. That good. Very doughy, thick bagels. Also, they don’t skimp on the cream cheese. Much better than the other chains I’ve tried!

Huge rip off! Prices here are the highest in the city, especially for mediocre food. Staff unfriendly. Avoid this place like the plague. Would give this place 0 stars if I could

No words can express how poor and truly lame the service is at this seemingly generic little neighborhood bagel shop. It may be close and local, but it’s never worth entering. The food is no better than alright. But what really stands out is how completely rude and uncaring the staff is towards the customers. May be the owners’ fault… or not. Perhaps the staff isn’t trained or compensated well. But that should not be the customers’ concern. But it is. Every time one dares to venture back in the place. And that’s not why one walks into a bagel shop first thing in the morning. Just not worth it. There’s a much better bagel shop on 1st Ave and 67. Smaller but way better bagels and much better service. Don’t say you haven’t been warned.

Place over charges for everything! Bagel with cream cheese was over 4 bucks, I had gotten a bacon egg and cheese on a roll with a small Oj and that was 9 bucks! The food is average. The cashier is ridiculously rude every time and seems to hate his job. I won’t be going back.

Avoid this place. Went here for a quick breakfast today and ordered a Belgian waffle(their special). This proved to be a mistake. I asked for the fruit topping which consisted of 3 slices of strawberry. The waffle itself tasted like dirty water(which later equated to the same taste of the coffee). Worst of all I found some strange substance(looked like a chewed up raisin but could have been anything) inside. One star only because they gave me my money back. Go elsewhere. Ended up throwing up after.

This is a great place to sit down and get a quick breakfast. I wasn’t too adventurous… got a egg n cheese on WW bagel… really good. Prices are reasonable and the staff is very friendly.

They got my order wrong and they made me wait forever, 4 customers that were behind me left before me and some got multiple bagels, I ordered one. Then when I got home and realized my order was wrong I called and they refused to deliver the correct order even though I’m within the same neighborhood and demanded I come back to the store.

Good bagels but guys who prepare sandwiches are hostile if you try to get them to give you what you ordered. Such a shame. Clearly owners dont care.

The service here is laughably bad. Because I live so close I find myself going back out of convenience but every time I am reminded of why the place is so terrible. I don’t think they have ever once gotten an order correct despite me repeating it and it only being 2 bagels! Don’t bother going here there are better places a few blocks away well worth the walk!!!

Bagel Express is going down. I ordered from Seamless & apparently the new staff can not read or speak English well at all. Don’t write in your«substitute’s» because those will get ignored. I order a chicken gyro deluxe, NO sauce & received a beef gyro drenched in sauce. So I immediately called the restaurant to let them know I received the wrong order if I could to speak with a manager. WHY? Because this was not my first rodeo, and was kept on hold for over 10 minutes. It wasn’t until I was standing there, while still being on hold, did I get the guys attention. Yes, I live that close but I thought try a web order since a phone order get screwed up every single time! So I explained what happened with my order and so I get a new one. I didn’t get a apology for the mistake or given anything for my trouble. Except for A-hole taking the orders its a whole new staff. Food is pretty good, but the quality of service is poor! I will not be ordering from here again! Not worth the hassle or frustration.

Not as good as their other location more upper east side but it will do since its literally right around the corner. I avoid putting in orders via phone because nearly 100% of the time they get it wrong. Take the extra time to go to the location and make your order in person. The bagel sandwiches are sub-par, but again its fine when proximity and price wins.

I can’t speak for their bagels(I’m on a low carb when I can control myself diet). But, their salad bar is excellent. I got a salad bowl there and they don’t skimp out when you ask to throw in some of their pricier veggies and protein items. Also, they don’t charge by weight(thank goodness)… the bowls are a set price +add ons. They were fast and friendly. A good amount of seating(outdoor/indoor mix). I would come back if I was in the area and in need of a healthy option fix. Bonus: Had one of their fresh squeezed orange juices on my way out… totes worth it!

Deli with bagels and sandwiches in other breads also. Bagel is decent. I got a grilled cheese(he toasted the bagel before grilling) so maybe cuz of the grilling process the bagel got sqished a bit. But good nonetheless.

The bagels are good, as are the salads. Unfortunately they can’t get your order right. Total cluster f $@#! Ordered egg salad on whole-wheat toast NO lettuce and tomato, they made tuna on not toasted wheat WITH lettuce and tomato. They f-ed up every order behind mine as well. Everybody on line was irritated. They need to slow down and comprehend what their customers are saying instead of rushing to make the food and screwing it up.

I have had breakfast here many times. It is RARE that they actually get the order correct. The prices are completely inconsistent. Ordered a bagel with egg and cheese and they gave my order to someone else, then had to wait for them to make mine again. Then I was told I owed more money because the cashier did not charge me the correct amount. Once I got home the egg and cheese was cold. I only live a block away.

I’ll admit I’m not picky with my bagels, but this place is a little overpriced for the service that they have. The bagels were decent, but the cream cheese was falling off my bagel when I got it. At least some care would be appreciated. That being said, their blueberry cream cheese was pretty good, so I recommend that with a 7-grain bagel. And, I will say that the speed of delivery was pretty good. Plenty of seating for a quick sit and dash — it’s a little too cold inside to stay for long.

The bagels are decent. I’ve definitely had better. The prices are moderate for the Upper East Sid. But if you want something warm toasted and customized, Bagel Express is the place to stop by instead of the breakfast food carts in the morning. If you like smoked salmon, go for a Nova lox bagel with scallion cream cheese. Try to steer away from lox because it is just one smushy lump of fishyness. Also, don’t be too offended by the cashier. Hopefully, you’ll catch him in a good mood. Just know that there is a $ 5 minimum for credit cards and he probably won’t yell at you.

Average bagel, but nothing else is too great. Considering this is New York, and you can find bagels on almost every block, go elsewhere! As I mentioned, the bagels themselves are solid. But once you start getting adventurous, lower your expectations. I ordered a western omelette on a bagel. The eggs were completely dry, and tasteless. Not good. If you do come here, stick to bagel with a spread.

I live one block away from this place, and I have had breakfast here many times. It’s RARE that they actually get the order correct. They ask 5 different ppl in line for their order before they start to make your bagel, overconfident that they will actually remember(which they never do). In addition, their prices are completely inconsistent, and if you ask them for a breakdown of the price of your order they are rude and dismissive. I have had it w this place, after being a somewhat regular neighborhood customer I will not be back.

I absolutely love the bagels from Bagel Express. The bagels are huge! Fluffy on the inside, and crunchy on the outside. Although the lines are usually long, I think this is definitely my favorite bagel place in the UES.
