Great tasting bagels, very fast service, and lots of selections for the cream cheese.

I asked if they had mini bagels and was made fun of for asking and was told they are for babies. I ordered a large coffee(meaning their largest size– they only have 2 sizes) and the woman at the front mumbled under her breath that they«didn’t have large». I asked for vanilla syrup in my coffee and was told they didn’t have any left. One of the men went to the back and brought back a bottle of alcohol and told the woman to put that in my coffee. Can’t believe how they treat polite, paying, returning customers.

This bagel express is warm and welcoming as soon as you walk in. The culture and dynamic of the employees is unheard of. I love their on the go special a bagel of your choice with egg, bacon, and cheese**(sub a smear of cream cheese) ** Great fill-up that loves up to its name !

Came here back to back mornings for breakfast, each time they had MAYBE a dozen bagels in the entire store. So concerned about yelling NEXT that they completely screwed up the order both times. Cashier friendly but overcharged me both times. Tables dirty and garbage overflowing. A sad excuse for how a shop should be run, which is a shame because the bagels were actually quite good, if not a bit overpriced. Summary: paltry customer service, decent product when its available and they manage to get the order right, overpriced so i advise you look elsewhere.

So I ordered the breakfast combo for pickup. Bacon egg and cheese on a bagel and a coffee. They left out the cheese. I politely showed them the disruption in the app that showed CHEESE. Instead of going with the tired old«the customer is always right» adage, the people there, useless, instead of giving me a stupid slice of cheese that costs them next to nothing), said no, weren’t even slightly accommodating. I’m done with this place. I won’t accept this kind of service and neither should you. NOT recommended.

These are the best, cheapest and fastest bagels we found. So good that we had breakfast there 6⁄7 mornings in NY! Where else can you get breakfast and coffee for 2 well under $ 10?

If you’re heading to or around Grand Central, Bagel Express is a quick and convenient option for a to-go breakfast sandwich or bagel, especially when you’re suffering from a hangover. ;) My favorite sandwich so far is a sausage, egg, and cheese on a whole-wheat everything bagel! I love the softness and flavor of the bagel and the freshly cooked scrambled eggs paired with amazingly warm, cheesey goodness. I have also tried a few of their cream cheeses(avocado-cilantro being my favorite) as a spread, but the bagels are delicious enough to eat with just butter! Give it a try and make sure you’re ready to order when it’s your turn!

If a guy is yelling garbled words at you even though you are 10 people away from the cash register, just yell back what you want. It’s kinda impressive how you could just slur or mouth your order without words, and he’ll probably get it right still. Make sure you know what you want before you get in line, or you’ll get judgy frowns from the staff.(Kinda reminds me of Atlanta’s The Varsity, except that«whaddyahavewhaddyahave» is the phrase there, and they are pretty patient with rookies.) Huge selection of spreads and bagels, all made in house. We got two bacon, egg, and cheese bagels on everything and fed 3 people with it! Good eats for a solid breakfast fix.

Had 39 minutes before my train at grand central and was hankering for some round bread so I ducked into this place. Even with a line service was swift. I got a sesame bagel with strawberry spread and it was really solid besides a poor spreading job and being toasted when I asked for it to not be. Would definitely recommend for locals to the area.

This might be my first 5-star review. I have not had a better bagel anywhere, and that includes my hometown bagel Mecca, Hot Bagels, in Fair Lawn, NJ. I am close to the end of the bag of 12 that has been in my Pacifica, CA freezer for two months. These babies are big and jaw-massaging – crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They also make a nice cappuccino and a good bagel sandwich.

Se você precisa de um café da manhã rápido e para a viagem este é o lugar. Os bagels são saborosos com várias opções de pães e recheio, e o preço super acessível, vale a pena conhecer.

I ordered this morning for delivery and right away I notice there is no snapple that i ordered and paid for. I call them and they put me on hold for a while and then tell me they will deliver it. Then I open the bag and notice the tuna I ordered is FULLYFROZEN. I had to call seamless and get a refund. I thought they made their tuna fresh, clearly they don’t. Horrible way to start my Sunday morning. I will never order from here again.

By far the worst service. Bagels were whatever, nothing special. They tasted the same as any coffee shop where you had no idea who was making the bagels. I was the only person in the shop at 6:30am and they couldn’t give me bagels without attitude and flack. Never. Going. Back. Change your workers management.

If you’re still waiting in line at Esse bagel you cray. Bagel express my new favorite midtown bagel spot. Super fast and great cream cheese selection. Never encountered basil cream cheese until coming here. Serious game changer.

Lox bagel with cream cheese and the works(tomato and red onions) on an everything bagel, yum! This is the slightly cheaper alternative($ 10) compared to the same bagel at Ess-A-Bagel, where it might be considered overpriced at $ 15. You can’t go wrong with either one, but I prefer Bagel Express’ bagel. It’s a healthy helping of soft, melt-in-your-mouth nova scotia lox between two toasted bagels(not too hard or soft, just right!), complemented by the tomato and raw red onion, you might want to go easy on the onions though or you can barely taste the salmon. The store itself has a lot of deli and hot food items, so it’s not just a bagel joint. Plus, it’s conveniently located in midtown in case you work nearby and need a quick bite. It’s near Grand Central in case you just want to venture out into Manhattan for a good lox bagel.

This place is close to where I work and I’ve been here a few times for just a plain bagel with butter. Not much to mess up there, so I’m writing a review based on sausage egg and cheese I tried. The best egg sandwiches I’ve had are from my hometown in New Jersey. I haven’t had a bagel or breakfast sandwich that even competes. So I compare them all to my favorite. This place actually has some fresh tasty bagels early in the morning. The problem I had with this sandwich was it barely had an meat in it. It was probably a small frozen sausage patty that they heated and then sliced in half. The egg to sausage ratio was probably 4 – 1. Unless you’re the biggest egg lover and despise meat, I don’t know who can be satisfied or happy with this sandwich. I’ll stick to the everything bagel with butter from now on.

The express part comes from getting the order incorrect. Queue management is poor even when not very busy. Food appears reasonably priced, but the cream cheese is quite salty. I have no idea why this place is thought to be better than Essa Bagel.

27 check-ins later, what’s taken me so long to write this? Well… Probably my overwhelming ambivalence. I mean, obviously it’s at least decent — it’s my go to place for breakfast sandwiches. The bacon egg and cheese is a New Yorker staple, and I especially enjoy it on their egg bagel. The bagels are huge and tasty, the prices reasonable, the service generally amicable, though not quite friendly. On the upside, the sandwiches can be sloppily-assembled, with ingredients from others orders finding their way in more often than not. All told, when they’re good, they’re really good, but they just lack consistency. Still, I’ve never seen Zucker’s get an order right, so I’m sticking to Bagel Express.

In the hunt for the prime NY bagel experience, Bagel Express won our business by virtue of being right down the street from our hotel with promising Unilocal reviews, and we were not disappointed! The shop itself is small, but the bagel crew runs a tight ship. On morning #1 the order was an everything bagel, toasted, w/salmon lox and cream cheese — im normally not a fan of salmon in my bagels since it tends to be a little too fishy or salty but Bagel Express did a fine job. The bagel was chewy, tasty and well seasoned and even though I did a «sorry, come again?’ when I found out this soon-to-be delicious bagel was going to cost me $ 9.50, I handed over my plastic and did not regret it. In fact the bagel was so good I returned the next morning to try their whole wheat everything bagel, toasted, with sausage, egg and cheese. The line was much longer on this Saturday morning but even then I was in and out in about 10 minutes. I couldn’t really tell a noticeable difference between the whole wheat and regular everything bagel, but that might be due to the sausage which unfortunately overpowered everything in the bagel. Still, the bagel was delicious and hopefully this Unilocal review can help lead others to this fine bagel establishment. (note: didn’t try any other NY bagels so I have no idea how this stacks up to others. But Bagel Express did have some framed poll results on the counter which showed customers preferring Bagel Express to ess-a-bagel. Made me feel good about my choice lol)

Our last day in NYC we wanted to find a great bagel place. Looking at reviews for a few other places we didn’t want to wait in line for 20 minutes! After a bit of Unilocaling we found bagel express. There was a small line when we arrived but plenty of indoor seating. We jumped in line and started going through our options. We settled on the cinnamon raisin toasted with strawberry cream cheese. 2 for just over $ 8 was great value. There were so many options including great tofu options like scallion and vegetable cream cheese. The bagel was wonderful! Nice and chewy, not too sweet, it almost tasted like a cheesecake! While the service was super fast it’s no fuss about! Know your order, yell it out and by the time you make it to the register repeat to pay and it arrives. The woman at the register was lovely! I want another… Now!

2 ½ * I had a plain bagel with jalapeño asiago cream cheese and was a little disappointed. The cream cheese had no kick to it at all! Would have loved if spiciness of the jalapeño came out to compliment the saltiness of the cheese. The bagel was average, not as chewy as I like my bagels. Service was fast and friendly.
