This park has potential, but it is really kind of gross. There is a large homeless presence here and there is all sorts of trash and feces all over. I was going to say dog poo, but I really think it’s more than that. On top of that? The other day I walked by there was a dead pigeon hanging from a tree branch by a string. Real nice.

Tiny park, there’s more seating than greenery. The grassy bit is more used by dogs than humans though so do not lay on the grass! I sh*t you not. There is a small childrens playground on one corner and Pizza in the Park Café on the other. The café itself serves all types of food(breakfast sandwiches, pizza, heros, etc) and beverages(soda, coffee, tea, smoothies, shakes). Pretty cheap — a roll(chicken parm, sausage/peppers & onions or spinach with mushrooms) are $ 3. I think they offer delivery.

So many«parks» are not listed on Unilocal,Balsley being one of them… sure, it’s more pavement and vendors than the typical«park» scene, but it’s there, and it beats strictly pavement or abandoned storefronts. Of the«market”-ish deal going down: Stopped by Berry Hill Orchard & picked up 3 Apple Cider Donuts For $ 2.50. Not too shabby, but all of this is a bit out of place, IMHO.
