Interesting bar, service was okay, seating was okay, atmosphere was typical«hotel bar», but the drinks had almost no booze in them. I met a colleague from NY when I got into town and wanted a nice stiff drink after a long flight. I had 3, doubles, and didn’t taste or feel booze in any of them. Some people like that, some people don’t. If I’m staying in the Westin again, I likely won’t go back to Bar 10, but it’s easy since its in the hotel.

Nice view and good enough food. Service warrants negative stars. Grazia was nothing that waitstaff should be – never refilled drinks, never friendly, never checked on us, and in the end she was rude and condescending. She ruined the experience and we will not return to Bar 10 during our stay at the Westin.

Came here for a drink with co-workers. Comfortable seating, nice atmosphere, wasn’t crowded on a Monday evening(6pm). OK beer selection. It was definitely a good spot for an uninterrupted conversation. Friendly service.

Great for a hotel bar. Dark and close tables. My wine was so expensive but a healthy pour.

Nice atmosphere, an oasis outside the bustle of midtown. Staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, chatting with bartender Sal was the highlight of our night. He made me and my friend the best Manhattans I have had in NYC, and had some great suggestions of places to try in NYC. Can’t stop eating the cheese crisps either…

It’s pretty much a moderate bar. The view is pretty good, but the service is not that great. I tried the«Midtown» drink and it was very good.

We stayed at the Westin and stopped by Bar 10 for a cup of coffee and dessert. They charged us $ 6 for a small cup of bad coffee and when I asked for a refill, they charged another $ 6. When I asked the waitress to take off the refill charge, she said they do not have refills. Total rip off. Do not come here!

Giving this bar two stars because Sonia did her best to provide good service on her second day, otherwise it would have one star based on the manager, Meagan, who took 30 mins to try and find the wine we wanted and then offered a discount on another selection due to the long wait. Then it took another 10 – 15 mins to bring the second selection because, again, it was difficult to find. After two bottles of wine and a few beers, she discounted the bill 15%…reallly? Not a place we will frequent.

Expensive prices to reflect Westin brand. Good service. Comfortable seating area including a window zone that allows people watching. If you get stuck here for diner you may ask yourself, Why didn’t I walk down the street 5 minutes to a unique option for the same price. NO happy hour.

I am surprised to see all of the negative reviews. Price wise it is not for the most frugal. It is in a Westin, so there should not be a whole lot of sticker shock. The best par about the bar — I may regret outing it — is that it is typically not crowded. There is always a seat at the bar unless there is some sort of convention going on in the hotel which we have only encountered once or twice. I have never had poor service there. Two bartenders stick out from all of my visits here, one who is reminiscent of Bruce Willis, and another a middle aged Asian gentleman. I feel bad because they have both given their names several times but I am not able to recall them at the moment. They have a limited snack menu, but you can also order from the Steakhouse menu as well. They have some great spicy green beans and truffle fries. Like many said the view is great. You can sit in the window, with a glass of wine, and watch 8th ave. A fun little game is to watch the entrances to the last of the peep show places. It is entertaining watching everyone try to enter and exit the establishments unnoticed. Sometimes they pace the block a few times until there is an opening where they think no one can see… It is a good bar, especially if you commute in and out of the Port Authority.

225 West 34th Street The worst Cesar salad I’ve ever had in my entire life. Seriously I could have been in the Midwest and gotten better. I rarely write bad reviews but this salad was ridiculous! YUK! What a waste of time and calories.

I liked the tables looking down on 8th ave., and the wine was good. Was quiet enough that I took a phone call without bothering anyone. Prices were high and the wait staff unprofessional… for example, «last call in 10 minutes» at 10:40 pm, but when I didn’t order right then my check came and they started clearing candles off the tables, etc. — felt very rushed /not welcome to stay. i went back once since(lat night) and the exact same thing happened(went both times because I was staying in the hotel). Should have checked Unilocal first!

Came here for a few drinks with friends. Drinks were pretty good but definitely a bit overpriced even for NYC… however, if you are staying in Times Square or grabbing a drink in the Westin Hotel on 43rd Street, expect higher than usual prices. Overall, good service, tasty cocktails, and pleasant atmosphere.

Drinks are good, BUT service was not. We purchased two travel zoo vouchers that included 4 drinks and two appetizer platters. When the bill of $ 132 came we were responsible for the tax(about $ 15). We paid the tax and left $ 15 as tip. Didn’t feel $ 30 was an appropriate tip for bringing us a few drinks. The worst is that the server came out after us to tell us that we had not left enough tip, if a set amount was required then it should have been included. I can’t believe he actually came after us, certainly something that wouldn’t happen in our home state of California. We left him what we felt was an appropriate tip, his behavior means we should have left nothing. When I complained to the manager, we were given a voucher for two free drinks, but I really don’t want to go back.

Cool contemporary décor and conveniently located by the lobby at the Westin New York Times Square. We stopped by for a night cap before heading up to our room around midnight. We sat down in the bar area and were promptly told we just made last call. I quickly ordered my usual favorite martini and my friend had a beer. It was $ 20 for my martini which was pretty high even for a drink in Manhattan. That $ 20 drink just bought half of the Kettle One bottle of vodka that was used to make it. The martini itself was decent but not worth $ 20 mainly because they didn’t shake the drink enough to make it nice and icy, which is the way I like it. Overall not a great experience here.

My wife & I found ourselves near Times Square around 11pm on a weeknight and we didn’t quite feel like heading home yet. We wanted a drink but also wanted to avoid the standard Times Squareiness of the area, so we decided to pop in here for a nightcap. I had a Manhattan, she had a glass of wine. The prices are high, but, this is a bar in a major hotel chain and in Times Square, so we were far from surprised. What I can say as a positive is that for the high prices, you’re going to get a generous pour, whether that be for booze or wine. We sat around to the side, in a skinny part of the bar, on a couch looking down to 8th Avenue(though not directly, since where were tallboy tables actually at the windows), and so we were largely shielded by the crowd made up of tourists on vacation and businessmen on boondoggles(including the 50-ish year old guy with his hand on the ass of a 30-ish female colleague). But again, it’s a hotel and it’s Times Square, if you don’t expect to run into tourists and business travelers, you’re an idiot. Sadly this was about two weeks before Frank Bruni wrote his piece for the NYT about the burgeoning cocktail bars in the Times Square area, otherwise we’d have gone to one of those, but for what we wanted and needed, Bar 10 was perfect.

The bar/lounge is nice and comfortable. You can order snacks from their limited menu. I have been to this place several times. Mostly because it was convient as I had stayed in the hotel for about five nights last year. The first time I came the staff at the bar was rude, ignorant and talked loudly in front of guests complaining about their job. Very unprofessional. There was two guys working the bar, one Asian who was the talkative one and one White guy who just seemed bored being there. I bypassed their attitude and just order a couple of beers. I came back like two days later and same attitude. So, it is 2010 now. It has been over a year and was hoping for a good experience. To my surprise these horrible people were still working there and still had the same attitude and demenaor. Come on! Get rid of these losers! They are worthless and produce a somber mood for guests! I doubt I will ever go there again. I have a reservation for the hotel in May and might peek my head in there in hopes to find new bartenders but doubt it. The bar in the restaurant downstairs is much better. Although much smaller, the bartender there is top notch and knows how to interact with customers. We need more people like him!
