If you want to dine in a friendly, welcoming spot in Harlem, you need to check out Barawine Harlem. They feature great French wines. My girls brought me there for Mother’s Day brunch, after I suggested that this was where I wanted to dine. The brunch special was beautiful prepared and presented, even my 5 year old granddaughter enjoyed the generous Belgian waffles with fruit. She ate every bite. I highly recommend Barawine for your next dinning experience in the beautiful Village of Harlem USA!

My friends who live in the area described this place as a mix of locals and European tourists and that seems about right. The DJ was playing Prince most of the brunch hour, the entire place is as beautiful as the pictures look, and unlimited mimosas are offered for $ 18! My croque madame was delicious, as was my gin based drink(they recently got a full liquor license.) Friend(and closeted gin-hater): «ok, so now all I smell is Christmas trees» Anyhow… Great classy brunch in Harlem

Service was terrible for the entire 1.5 hours we were there. Had to ask for bread which was cold. Took 30 minutes for food to come. Waitress forgot about us and never offered dessert. Only reason why I can’t give one star is because the food was halfway decent and wine wasn’t terrible.

Fine selection of wines from all over the country/world(even a small, but decent cocktail list, too) and super romantic. Love! Décor is on the French side, which made sense as the evening progressed as I heard a number of both employees and guests speaking French. Love(again)! Came by for a post-dinner nightcap, but saw that they had a happy hour. Service is fast and easy. There is a communal seating side with some hi-tops for 2 – 4 plus a dinner side. The place is just so cute, cozy, and romantic that I would come back for the same thing(post-dinner drinks/nightcap) and/or dinner for two.

Came here on a Friday evening. Ambiance: Fancy and upscale and pretty spacious. Food: We had the ceviche and it was yummy. The scallops were good but I do not understand why for the price it didn’t come with some carbs. The scallops were on top of a couple of spinach leaves and beans. This dish would be better as an appetizer(and lower price) or if some carbs like mashed potatoes, pasta or risotto was paired with it. The Bolognese was pretty food. Wine: Some of the wine by the glass wines were a little pricey but quality was good. Service: Our waitress wasn’t rude but she didn’t seem that invested. It was nice trying this place but I might stick to my Trader Joe’s wine.

You expect to find fried chicken, some ghetto dollar slice spot, and obviously a white castle in this area but a wine establishment like this, no. From it’s nonchalant exterior you would expect this to be a weak attempt at something fancy from some Harlemite who just inherited aunt Sylvia’s southern cash she’d been sitting on your entire life. The entry immediately settles any worries except where the f*ck is the host stand, once located, seating is a breeze and you can easily be distracted by the beautiful interior. Whomever designed this place knew what sexy lounge/restaurant aesthetics were all about. Wine menu is on point with a diverse selection to enjoy with their wide array of dishes… If you go then order the f*cking wine, google pairing wine with whatever you’re craving or hope your server is aware… I guess brunch in Harlem is a thing now, I brunched my life away downtown so now I’m not a good source for this… though I’m sure Aunt Sylvias’s niece or nephew are aware how to make it a good time. Definitely give this place a shot and tell them Shaniqua from white castle gave high praise of this place… just kidding #notjking

I went on a Saturday night(Mar 2016) for dinner and sat at a table in the bar area. The wine is GREAT, food is soso. Stay away from the risotto. It comes out more like a clam chowder soup. Flavors are good but it’s not a true risotto. Stick to apps and wine at this place. And I don’t know if it’s just me, but I got the feeling this was a hook up bar judging by all the touchy-feeliness going on at the bar the night I was there… awkward!

A group of us stopped in after brunch nearby for mimosas on a Saturday afternoon. Lucky for us, they have $ 30 unlimited mimosas! We loved sitting by the window soaking in the natural light in a crisp, airy establishment. The server was very nice– we asked for a batch made with pineapple juice instead of OJ and it was delicious. Great place!

Great interior design, great selection of wines, but unfortunately is lack of customer service. and not a great cook… We waited for all hour to get our food served and when it finally came, it was absolutely cold! Steak was cold, potatoes where hot, mussels where overcooked and sauce extremely over salted. When we complained, we just got the answer that shift is changing on that time. So basically we where guilty to be on the wrong time! I don’t think, I will be back for food, but come back for really good selection of wine!

I ordered delivery through Seamless. I got the Butter Sqaush Ravioli which was intoxicatingly good. I wish it was main-course sized. It was 3 jumbo ravioli, in this intense buttery wine sauce that I could like bathe in. I also got the Cobb Salad which was disappointing. It says it comes with romaine and iceberg lettuce but it was only very finely shredded iceberg, and I ordered the salad because I was craving lettuce. nFortunately it did taste fresh, it wasn’t bagged iceberg. The grilled chicken was okay but tasted like it had been in the fridge for a while – the taste had kind of been drained out of it. Plenty of blue cheese, semi-fresh diced tomatoes, delicious lemon vinaigrette. Also in the bag were two fresh slices of sourdough which were perfect for mopping up the ravioli sauce. No utensils/napkins. High quality food containers wrapped in plenty of Saran wrap, so no leaks.

Great for Sunday brunch – primarily for the vibe and in particular the DJ who plays fabulous soul and funk music. Fun! It’s definitely our Harlem go-to spot for our girls brunch. The food is decent. I had the eggs with prosciutto dish which came with some odd looking gravy. It wasn’t as bad as it looked but certainly something I will never order again. Also, the potatoes were good but cold and the French toast was a little hard to cut with a fork. Next time, I’ll stick with something much more simple and predictable, like a spinach omlette.

Really cute spot in Harlem that looked promising. The place is beautifully designed, looked very elegant and offered plenty of seating for large groups or small groups of people gathered for brunch. Came here at 12pm for a group birthday brunch and the place was nearly empty, which surprised me. But it started filling up after 1:30pm or so. I ordered the Eggs Florentine($ 15) which was eh-OK — would not recommend it. A little salad with leafy greens, poached egg that looked tiny on the english muffin with some spinach and bechamel sauce and some teeny tiny roasted potatoes. The meal was underwhelming to say the least. If you want bottomless drinks, it was an additional $ 18 per person. If you don’t need to drink that much during brunch, it’s better to split the carafes of bellinis/mimosas. We split 2 desserts, one of which was a «chocolate lava cake» for $ 12. GEEZ the cake was barely bigger than the size of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. Service was eh-ok. We got charged for coffee that we ordered but never received. Also 6 people got their food and then 2 waited another 10 minutes before they got theirs. The tab automatically included gratuity(maybe because we were a party of 8). Overall, a cute place that maybe I would consider coming back to but only if it were at the insistence of my friends and it was a birthday or something. But even then, there are too many great places to dine at in the city. It is not worth an inter-borough trip.

I can’t say that the food even interests me. I find the location to be convenient. You can step inside from Lenox Ave and jump on that video conference with a client or get some emails out and enjoy a glass of wine. I go for the red Rhone Valley. I usually order a plate of cheese and charcuterie. The cheese is kind of hard, and the meats are sort of dry and uninspiring. But, the ambience is great. My server is very nice. The owner — or at least the operating manager — is super cool.

Carafes of mimosas or bellinis– WIN! It isn’t unlimited but the carafes are decently priced. The first time I just went for drinks-and that was cool. The second time I went for the entire experience. The food was good but didn’t rock my socks! I had the chicken sandwich with the salad. The salad wasn’t anythign to write home about. The chicken sandwich was good but not great. The menu in general didn’t have much that appealed to me but that is because I am picky when it come to cheese and eggs. My boyfriend got an egg platter of some sort and said the eggs were way too salty. It also didn’t look like a lot of food. He ended up ordering french toast after and enjoyed it. IN general we were satisfied(the drinks probably helped our joy to be sustained). The service is really good! The owner is really personable. He makes everyone feel welcomed and you can tell he takes pride in his restaurant. Most of the staff speak French-makes me feel like I’m in Paris again. lol It is a pretty diverse crowd. Love that they have a DJ. Both times I went it was the same guy and he played some great stuff! There is a front area with one long island you can sit at and a few tables on the side. The back area has several tables as well. It is apparently family friendly as well because there were quite a few families there. It was a little tight to have strollers coming through and the kids crying was probably not a highlight of a lot of people’s experiences. The décor is pretty cool as well. I think in the future I may just go for the drinks and eat at another brunch place nearby.

We had a really mixed experience at Barawine. We loved the outdoor seating, and enjoyed sitting in the bright fall sunshine. The coffee was fabulous, and I thought my mimosa was also quite tasty. The service was friendly, though a bit confusing — it seemed that two different people thought they were taking care of our table; sometimes that resulted in double orders of ketchup and water, other times our coffee refills were simply forgotten. My boyfriend ordered the croquet madame, which was supposed to come with a fried egg; they served him the croquet monsieur, minus the egg. But my biggest complaint would be with how my food was prepared — I ordered swiss cheese scrambled eggs, and they were bone dry. I couldn’t tell there was cheese in their at all. The accompanying potatoes weren’t cooked enough — they crunched when I bit in to them. At least the side salad was delicious. I’d go back again given how cute the space was but I would order something that seems very easy to make — I guess scrambled eggs were too temperamental. Maybe they’re better for dinner?

Great spot with a cool mixed trendy scene, food is well executed and fits the bill for this type of concept. A beautiful outdoor terrace, with all the surrounding brownstones gives it a warm neighborhood cozy feel. Their wine offerings are great with an emphasis in French. Their happy hour is definitely a great deal, when you want to wind down after a long day, having a glass of wine and some cheese. They have a long communal table in the entrance and it is easy to nicely mingle and sympathize with fellow dinners, in the back a more formal dining room with a small stage for live entertainment. Ambiance is modern with some great music and DJ spinning on weekends, also the Owner is really accomodating and will go the extra mile to make you feel at home and definitely grasped the spirit of Harlem with his establishment.

Came here for Sunday brunch recently and loved it! The food was so good and they had a great selection of varied brunch items. I liked that they played funky upbeat music. It was a bit loud, though, so it would be okay to turn it down a tiny bit. It was a nice, mixed crowd of people. They also have the option of outdoor seating under an awning. The food was great and the service was pretty good. Harlem tends to have slower service, so, in comparison, it was a bit better than the slow Harlem service. I’d definitely return.

Harlem is drawing more and more attention thanks to places like this. Such a pretty atmosphere to sip a glass of wine or get a bite to eat. The risotto is fantastic. The burger is very good and accompanied by really good fries. DJ spinning some fun oldie hip hop tunes on a Saturday night makes this one of my favorite go-to’s in Harlem.

Note: I only went for dessert and drinks. The ambience of this establishment was absolutely amazing. Unlike anything I have ever seen in Harlem. Excellent wine selection hence the name and I had the Crème Brulee for dessert which was a rather small serving compared to other restaurants. BUTNONETHELESSAWESOME. The waitress was very attentive to when my glass was running low. The reisling they had was so awesome I had to have 2 glasses. I WILLBERETURNINGFORDINNER.
