Great burgers(we’ve had the bison duck and elk) with lots of flavor, fun toppings and sauces, but not supper greasy. Also very neat delivery packaging, it’s rare a burger gets delivered and looks just like it would at the table. Onion rings are crunchy and not greasy, and shakes are great with a homemade taste!

Burger comes without fries, gluten free buns are available, ok burgers. Not the best, but not bad either.

The service and staff at this location has been downright disappointing. Ordered take out over the weekend and everything was cold. A large side of onion rings consisted of maybe 4 – 5 small and soggy rings. I walked in for lunch today to order takeout, but before I could say anything the staff told me not to waste my time as it would be at least 30 minutes for a takeout order. Will not bother coming to this location again.

Came here on a Friday for lunch. The restaurant was quite empty. This was my first time at this location, but I have been to practically every other one in NYC. I got a buttermilk buffalo ‘wich, something I have been getting for quite some time, but was underwhelmed. The fries are the same at every location — quite soggy. I also ordered a shake which was brought to me about 20 minutes before the food… So that was not the best. This has been one of my worst experiences at Bareburger and has made me question going back to any location to be honest.

I work by this place, which leads to lots of Bareburger receipts for lunch. I recommend ordering JUST burgers from these guys though. I love, love, love, my burger from them every time. Still working towards trying them all.(I have about 4 more, that I have been avoiding cause I tend to be a picky eater.) My fries are ALWAYS flimsy, or soggy though, regardless if I pick up or delivery, or sit by the bar. I have also had their kids menu grilled cheese which is DELICIOUS, and their chicken tenders, which were also good, but were a little over done,(ought to try them again, maybe it was just a bad day.) I also ALWAYS order a Banana Foster, which I have gotten all my co-workers hooked on. The. Best. Shake. EVER. There is a waitress who works there, who is really cool, but calls me things like«doll» or «sugar» which is fine once, but not multiple times throughout our conversation please. Because I am in love with their burgers, and am a burgers & fries girl, I keep ordering fries and getting disappointed. Please nail your fries Bareburger, and I’ll dine with you every day.

These burgers are *amazing* and probably one of the best burgers I have ever had. Was a little skeptical of the restaurant on whether it would just be subpar due to the 3.5 star rating but wow after eating this burger couldn’t believe it didn’t have better ratings! I got the bison burger that had a fried green tomatoes, pimento cheese, and I substituted the egg for duck bacon. Everything on the burger was super flavorful and really worked well together to have an incredible taste. My group also got the half regular fry and half sweet potatoes fry and these were good as well. They were pretty standard fries though and nothing to rave about but I was so focused on the burger I didn’t even need fries! If you want an amazing burger check this place out. The only downside was service wasn’t the quickest but wasn’t horrible. The burger was so good the service doesn’t justify docking then of 5 stars!!!

First I have to start out by saying we came at dinner time with 9 people and no call ahead or anything. It was very busy but the servers were accommodating and we told them we didn’t mind squeezing into a booth with a chair on the end. They were really great and we never felt like they were neglecting us or like they were annoyed with our particularly large group. So usually I would balk at a burger chain that was as expensive as Bare. 11 – 15 bucks on a burger and fries are NOT included?! What kind of game is this? But I kept my cool because everyone I know has raved about their burgers and I figured, there has to be a reason that all these people love this. I decided to get the Grindhouse burger. Elk, manchego, duck bacon, WHAT?! The burger arrived, it was smaller than I expected, but after my first bite I was in love and pretty much stuffed the whole burger into my mouth because DELICIOUSNESS! And while I know I’m prone to hyperbole, this is not a drill people. I’ve had my fair share of «BBQ» burgers – you know, cheddar, bacon, onion straws(sometimes), and bbq sauce. This was like that, but like sprinkled with gourmet fairy dust and sheer brilliance. I suddenly began to wonder why all burgers weren’t covered in duck bacon and why I’d only now had paprika mayo(considering I don’t like mayo this is a big deal). I considered getting a second, the price stopped me. But I could have eaten a second burger. Also, as a condiment person, I have to say their table ketchup and mustard are phenomenal and I will never think of ketchup – which is usually an ‘ew’ – the same way again. Unfortunately, I will probably not be back anytime soon because I’m pretty much never near a Bareburger other than when I’m at work, and it’s still not that close.

Came here for dinner with a few friends on Friday night. The restaurant is very chill with a fresh, natural vibe(wooden planks, chalkboard typography, plants). The servers were very friendly and gave us time to peruse the menu. I opted for the Matador(heads up that they were out of the sweet potato and wild rice burger for my vegetarian friend). I really enjoy trying exotic meats(kangaroo, bison, boar, alligator, etc.) and have generally enjoyed them in meatballs, sausages, etc. For our group of 6, it took about 15 – 20 minutes for our burgers to arrive. My Matador(bison, queso fresco, pickled jalapenos, guacamole, green leaf, spicy pico de gallo, brioche bun) was juicy and well-cooked, but it really didn’t taste like there was any seasoning on any part of the burger. Unfortunately, while the burger claimed to have all these awesome ingredients, I couldn’t taste any of them — they weren’t even blended together, the whole thing just tasted bland. I ended up dousing it in hot sauce to impart some flavor. Unfortunately, my friend’s fries were soggy. Overall, it was a chill place to hang out with friends, but for the price($ 14 after tax/tip), I wish the food was up to expectations. FOOD: 1⁄5 ENVIRONMENT: 4⁄5 SERVICE: 4⁄5 VALUE: 2⁄5 OVERALL: 3⁄5

The milkshakes here is really tasty and has a natural flavor. They put it in a tin instead of a paper cup. I love it and will definitely come back!

Got the Fire Quaker burger and it was good, even if it was a little hard to eat. It was not very spicy, but the jalapeños and habanero mayo added a nice kick. The service was nice and quick, and the sweet potato fries were crispy with good flavor.

Back for my third or fourth trip to 87th Street BareBurger. They are always so nice at this location. I really went all out today and tried something new. I had the Supreme. I ate my sweet potato fries for desert. This burger is huge! You get a lot of food for the price. It really is like getting a burger with the side of onion rings. It had a beef patty, Colby cheese, lettuce, one onion ring inside the bun that was stuffed with fries, and two onion rings on top of the brioche bun. I left off the condiments and asked for the country bacon on the side. I gave it four stars because I think they got the bun wrong. I was substituting the sprout bun for the brioche. It was a delicious bun though. Plus they were nice enough to leave off the country ham. I took it home. It was two huge slices of country bacon on this burger. This is one gigantic burger! My only complaint is I didn’t have room left for a Sammie! I’ll be back.

I want to love this place! They are right across the street from my apt, would love to make it our local burger place. I love their mission statement. I love their friendly staff. Love the décor. Unfortunately, I hate their burgers. They are consistently dry and tasteless. I always order turkey burgers, husband always gets beef. We always walk out disappointed. Such a bummer.

Takeout cashier swiped my giftcard 4x, gave me my receipt, then a few minutes later called me back to request an additional $ 0.65, which took another 3 swipes to process and a signature to complete. As at other Bareburgers, the staffers are always crazy rushed and don’t give anyone room to stand waiting for their food despite copious space. Their shake menu is confusingly unclear — the first portion lists options for what are essentially flavor syrups(which is mentioned nowhere) is actually either a chocolate base or a vanilla base, with as many flavor additions as your heart desires(the cashier conceded that this confuses everyone) — went with a chocolate base with peanut butter, raspberry, and strawberry. Peanut butter is of course naturally overpowering, but they still really got the ratio wrong here, as no other flavor was apparent; they also dropped what was to be my cup and served the product unnervingly soon after(not clear they tossed it and gave a new one). Pricey, tiny, & super thick; as I’ve said before, the slurpee straw makes no sense.

My roommate and I came in for a late Sunday night dinner — I’d spotted this location earlier in the day, and remembered that multiple friends have raved over it — and I can already tell it’s going to become part of my regular takeout rotation, for better or for worse. I had anticipated a counter-serve setup, but it’s actually a sit-down place(though they do takeout!). The menu is huge and has so many varieties of everything you can think of — from the classic beef burger to more exotic offerings like elk or wild boar. At least 8 or so sides, plus some specials, and a number of milkshakes that look amazing(but will run you 500+ calories apiece, sad face). I decided to skip the beef burger in favor of a duck burger — the Fire Quacker, to be specific. Duck patty, pepper jack cheese, habañero mayo, pickled jalapeños, red onions, and other veggies — spicy everything, basically. It wasn’t too spicy at all, just had a bit of a kick. My roommate had the Hog Wild, which was wild boar, pimento cheese, fried egg, chickpea onions and green tomato. We split a side of fries and one of the special sides — some kind of chili-breadcrumb-encrusted pickle chips, which I didn’t expect to like, but were pretty tasty and unique. Really enjoyed the duck burger — it wasn’t too gamey, and the selection of toppings complemented it well. Also thought it was the perfect serving size. The sides were pretty big — tons of fries and pickle chips — so I’d say these are definitely meant for sharing. Maybe one side for two people would be about right. At about $ 18 bucks a pop for a burger and one side, Bareburger is a little too expensive to be your regular burger fix, but it’s a versatile place — equally good for takeout as it is for a casual date. This location is right down the street from me, so I’m pretty sure I’ll be back.

Burgers were too dry, even my veggie burger, the buns were disproportional, pretty tasteless. The desserts were too sweet, but looked killer. Again Not Terrible, just not my favourite. I prefer burger bistro down the block.

I needed to grab some dinner before a show, but I was by myself. So I was looking for a decent place with a big bar, and food. I really liked the ambiance of this place, and it seemed very welcoming. I walked in and was immediately seated at the bar. It was rather cozy! I came to this place because my friends recommended it. I usually would not go to a place that is ‘organic everything’. Im just not that into the ‘gluten free’ and ‘organic everything’ trends. I was there during happy hour so i got a great $ 4 beer that i could not even finish. I ordered one of their signature burgers, and a side of cole slaw. All together the burger was tasty… however way too small for the price, and it did not come with a side. The coleslaw I ordered was made differently then I expected and really lacked flavor. I was still hungry after I ate everything. Something I noticed was the quality of the food seemed very good. I did not feel sluggish, or ‘tired’ as I sometimes do after eating a lot of carbs. So do I chalk that up to the healthy, organic ingredients? I liked the overal presentation of the food… the cute cups and bowls. I get the whole trendy vibe. Maybe this would be a cool place to go with a bigger crowd, if we were also looking to hang out. But I think next time I crave a burger I could go somewhere a lot cheaper, where the burgers are bigger.

This place is terrible. Came in and was seated immediately. Our server nick was amazing. Very attentive and helpful. From then on it was a disaster. The food took forever to come out. We noticed the other workers foods came out before ours and as they were eating from the bar we were still waiting. Once our food came out. It looked normal. One bite into the burger and i was baffled. My burger WASNOT medium rare like I asked. It was RARE. the fries were soggy. The onion rings were also soggy. I am disappointed in this location. Will not return. Pictures are added.

Another location of this organic NYC burger chain opened it’s doors now on the UES. Dropped in here recently as we were craving a burger close to home in our hood. Beautiful cool night out and they had all the front garage windows opened up Delicious and juicy burgers, kick ass cole slaw in a mason jar, decent french fries with dipping sauces, and terrific onion rings. Just wanted The Original — with colby jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, raw red onion and Bareburger special sauce — and it hit the spot. We also had a few of their hand-crafted Maine root sodas — lemon lime and a crazy good blueberry. The hot honey milkshake was also pretty good! Service was on-point, friendly, and helpful. Even though the place was crowded our food came pretty quickly. No complaints here and we did not have any of the problems other reviewers have mentioned. Will gladly go back again! I like the one that is close to my office in the Murray Hill area, and now with one in the neighborhood I reside in up on the UES /Yorkville area it’s close by. Bareburger offers organic, all natural, free-range, grass-fed meats for their burgers, organic and all-natural cheeses, and organic vegetables too. They partner with local artisans and work with sustainable farmers which offers support for the little guy, and in turn they offer tasty burgers along with quality ingredients. You can even get more of the«exotic» meats here like bison, elk, and ostrich along with over a dozen types of burger concoctions, sliders, chicken, fries, onion rings salads, and sandwiches. Don’t forget those delicious special sauces to spread on your burgers or dip your fries into — spicy chipotle mayo, peppercorn steak sauce, chipotle ketchup, curry ketchup, pesto mayo, ranch, country dijon, and horseradish mayo. Oh yeah! There is even a selection of all natural sodas, milkshakes, and some organic beers and wine. Nice addition to the neighborhood, and a decent alternative to getting a burger at a diner or fast food joint. Some outside seating too.

We went in for a late dinner and the place was packed. We started with the chili panko crusted pickle chips. They were super hot and tasted so good. I had the toasted Asian salad, it was good, but it had weird flavors and crunches. My friend had the habanero burger and was a happy camper. The service was good until the end when they kind of forgot about us. But we left having a good meal for a reasonable price with smiles on our faces. The pickle chips were the star of the meal for me.

Bareburger has been one of my favorite burger spots from the first time I stepped in the door(and yes, if you read between the lines that indicates I’ve downed one of their incredible burgers more times than I care to admit). I normally eat at the Murray Hill location on 34th, but I was uptown for a movie with some friends so, what a better place for a pre-movie bite than Bareburger. The uptown location is definitely a quieter ambiance than it’s 34th st location, but it was more welcoming for some easy conversation. The décor matches their other locations with the reclaimed wood, recycled ton roof-ceiling and exposed brick walls. The booths are separated nicely with high walls providing ample privacy for your party, if desired. Now onto the food: The fries and onion ring combo to start is our group’s go-to, which arrived perfectly fried and with the same spice we’d normally expect on the onion rings. The combo comes with 4 dipping sauces, but the highlight here is the Thai chili mayo(definitely ask for extra). Next up, I decided to venture outside of my normal choices so my friend and I split 2 burgers: the Brisket and the Habenero Express. Both were excellent choices. While the Brisket burger came out a little overcooked, it was still just as great as we’d hoped(yes, it’s brisket on your burger… with fried pickle chips). The overall winner tonight was the Habanero Express burger. The tingle of the spicy Habanero was perfect and it may have just its way into #1 on my Bareburger burger choice board. Lastly, the pitchers of Lionshead are $ 12, cheap for anywhere in NYC. No complaints here. We always receive excellent service when we go to any of the Bareburger locations, and tonight was no exception. Friendly, attentive, and down-to-the-t, they had everything right(except for that slightly overcooked Brisket burger, but I’ll let that slide until next time).
