I tokk a corporate finance class in summer 2015 and it was terrible. Professor rvatin did not teach. i finish the class and i know nothing about corporate finance. I dont know about the other professors, but after this experience i do not think i would ever take another class here.

Baruch CAPS provided good marketing certification class. BUT!!! As being an international student, i had to ask few more things from CAPS office. An old man at CAPS reception desk, always made arguments on his extra works and did not want to help students. When I really need help on processing my visa, he said «im not making a decision, but you will not get it». Well, if he is not decision maker, did he really need to say discourage words to young student? Are nt they there for helping students and getting pay by that? RIDICULOUS!!!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE
I enrolled there this may and have been waiting for GRE courses for 2 months. I always considered Baruch as a reliable college and I couldn’t actually believe that they could just CANCELED THE COURSE! They did it AFTER they charged me, AFTER they made me pass the placement test AND MADE ME PAY FOR IT, they did it AFTER I transferred my documents, ONE BUSINESS DAY BEFORE the start day! On my question why no one notified me that they could cancel the course I got an answer: «Nobody’s going to enroll if we say it to everyone». So those guys actually even didn’t deny that they are interested just in making money from you and they just DON’T GIVE A FUCK about my wasted time, my wasted money and troubles with transferring my immigration documents that they caused. Now I have to find new school IN 15 DAYS to stay legal, to pay fee for canceling my scheduled GRE exam and (the best one) I HAVE TO PUT OFF STARTING MY MASTER FOR ONE YEAR FROM NOW BECAUSE OF THOSE PEOPLE. Yeah, they refused to refund the fee for placement test too by the way. NASTYYY! — I have no other words.

Earlier this year, I wanted to brush up my programming skills and decided to enroll in one of their certificate programs. I thought the course sequence was pretty comprehensive and the price is just right based on the description in their catalog. Boy, was I wrong. It was a big mistake.
First of all, the registration process was a mess.
— They take every opportunity to charge you more than the actual price of the certificate. For instance, their website mentions that if you enroll online, the registration fee will be $ 15 instead of $ 25. Well, that is true only if you enroll in an individual course. If you sign up for a full certificate program, they will charge you the full $ 25 dollars. Of course, they won’t tell you this.
— Enrolling in a certificate does NOT mean you are enrolled in each course of the certificate. They do NOT automatically enroll you in each classes. You have to explicitly tell them the classes. I guess they are too lazy to look up the list of classes that belonged to the certificate!
— They deceptively make you believe all the classes are open, and that is not the case. If you enroll in a certificate course and one of the classes is cancelled, you are screwed. They will NOT refund your money for that one class until you withdraw from the entire certificate.
If the class is indefinitely cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be forced pay for the $ 75 certificate withdrawal fee before you get the refund for that course. So if you ever decide to take a few classes at this place, DO NOT enroll in their certificates. Enroll each class separately.
The instructor and the courses themselves are pretty much one big joke. The instructor has no adequate knowledge of the materials. Here is why:
— The materials covered are so basic. You will never learn anything in great depth. The instructor just drags on and spends significant amount of time covering basic things that even an eleven year old would know. I can guaranteed you will learn more by Googling online, seriously! At one point, the instructor even suggested the class to «just google it», so unprofessional!
— The instructor wastes at least one hour of every class waiting for everyone to setup their workspace. This should take only 5 minutes at most. Well then, you have mostly dumb people in the class, including the instructor, I can see why he wastes so much time.
— Don’t believe anything the course title and description say. Some key items mentioned in the description are NEVER covered in class.
— During one of the sessions, the instructor decides to not teach and just cover a poor example from one of the student’s homework. He then proceeds to dismiss us early. As far as I know, it was supposed to be a 2 ½ hour course.
— The instructor taught absolutely nothing during the last session, gave us course evaluation forms, and then proceed to leave the classroom before us. I was like, what on Earth is going on? Boy, he sure made easy money by teaching nothing!
— The computers will reset to their default settings when you log out. So every time you log back in, you’ll have to set up your own workspace again! You are better off bringing in and working on your own laptops!
Lastly, you have the luxury of learning in an old and beat building. The classroom floors are covered with dust and you can see hairs in the crevices between the desks, it seemed like NOBODY has ever vacuumed that place for years!
What a nightmare. If you ever decide to take a class here, think twice! Don’t get fooled by the price. There is no substance in the courses. You will certainly get what you paid for.

Terrible management of classes, my class was canceled twice in a row, the instructor went missing, then they found a third rate guy, who was terrible, all this after 2 weeks, and when i asked for a refund after the first class they said they will not issue me more than 50%. They have the discretion of cancelling classes with no notice but students get screwed paying the bills if they attend one session. I actually waited half an hour for the first instructor’s no-​show, and they did not pay me for my time — my question is why shouldn’t students be allowed to pull out after the first class if they are so confident about the quality of their teachers?
Anyways, I hate their policy for students — and their quality of teachers, I will not be going to Baruch anytime soon.

CUNY at its finest for continuing studies where I was empowered to enhance my professional skills. For eight non-​matriculated sessions the course was extremely intense but the instructor is well mannered with proper teaching techniques. I am finally acknowledged as a respected individual without all the vuglar degrading teasing. It is with cause that I am sincerely happy without being the subject of instructor’s vulgar ridicule! Price is reasonable and caterers to one’s working schedule in the evening where it begins and ends at a reasonable retiring hour.
Baruch CAPS actually communicates to students via email for class building location, room number, time of sessions, instructor’s name, including notification of course grade.
