Be Strong be Relentless

Caroline Strong is extremely rude. The class is good don’t get me wrong but with that kind of attitude.blah. She raised her voice when I couldn’t follow. It was my first time. I take professionalism seriously and clearly she needs to go back to school just for that.

I can’t disagree more with the two poor reviews.
There’s no question that Caroline is tough — REALLY tough! However, she is also extremely professional and has a lot of consistent, regular students who love what she does. Yes, I’m one.
Her Body Burn and Pilates classes have helped my chronic back problems no end and she is always conscious and considerate of them in class. The Body Burn class is ridiculously tough but I recommend it to anyone that isn’t afraid of a little pain. The weight fell off me when I started doing it.

I’m so surprised to see those two bad reviews! I have always had a great experience in Caroline’s class — she takes the time to ask for everyone’s name, is upbeat, and challenges you to do your best. The starting plank/​arms series leaves me shaking and feeling like I had an excellent work out within the first 20 minutes! The class is a mix of barre (isometric) movements, body weight strength training, and pilates. I go once a week and think it is a great addition to my work out schedule.
Note about the location: the opposite of swanky. Caroline rents a room in a studio that provides zero amenities, including a large changing area or water. Change at home and BYOB.

The studio is not well organized, the changing room didn’t have a lock on it. The bathroom stalls were very small, too small to get changed in.
The instructor never asked about injuries and proceeded to yell violently at me for not being able to follow directions. When she came over to yell at me about not going far enough down in squats she didn’t want to give me a different exercise she told me I could leave. She was not professional at all and rude towards her students. I will not be attending any classes at that studio again.

Horrible experience! The instructor was rude and deeply inconsiderate. She failed to make any adjustments for injuries, and I left the class feeling physically and mentally pained. Would absolutely never return!

Caroline’s class is fantastic. As a former athlete and fitness enthusiast, I’ve been working out for a long time doing different types of physical activity over the years including barre, bikram yoga and pilates. Caroline’s class rises to the top because it’s a great workout that both increases your strength and cardio endurance. Even better it’s low impact so you don’t have to worry about any previous injuries or getting hurt (ahem cross fit). She caters to all levels and works you hard with a smile on her face the entire time which is a nice touch. I even took my husband who was also challenged by the class. I just started so can’t speak for any results but I feel energized and accomplished at the end of class. Her class is so good I wish she had more weekday classes. The workout requires minimal props (all you need is a mat) so I also wish she had a video because it’s an ideal workout when traveling. So until either of the above happens (fingers crossed) soon) I’m going to try to take every class that I can.
