Beer Table Pantry

Tucked away in Grand Central Station, very small and overpriced. Probably ok if you’re looking to grab a pour and go but the pictures were quit deceptive. I was expecting a walk in store as opposed to a wall of beer with 5 taps.

This place was great! They had a wide selection of craft beers with a range of prices. If you are looking for something cheep and watery, go somewhere else because they only have fine beers here. The least expensive was around five bucks but worth every penny. It’s the perfect place to dull and pick something up before getting on the metro north where you can drink freely. They will even sell you a bottle opener for one dollar so you can open it on the train to avoid being fined for walking around with an open container in a train station.

Great little shop with tons of fun unique options. And the man really knows his stuff. No joke.

LOVE! A coworker of mine introduced me to this spot right in Grand Central. I had this canned beer, but can’t put my finger on the name of it. It’s a blue can that’s all I can remember– not sure if that’s a good thing or not lol.
Not that expensive, super friendly staff, tidy little spot. I totally recommend coming here that those carts.

Conveniently located in Grand Central, Beer Table is employed by people fully equipped to answer any of your craft beer questions and quick to offer suggestions based on your palate. Prices are moderate, selection in craft beer is great!

Dropped by after receiving a $ 3 off coupon from their kiosk at Taste of the Terminal and was met with a great selection of brews and Sigmund’s Pretzels in a really convenient location, within Grand Central but slightly off from the bustle.

Stopped by here recently on the way home. My theory is that they have a core of knowledgable beer customers who know which beers are only suffering from the expected ‘Grand Central’ markup, and then the rest of their stock is targeted at gouging tourists and those desperate to bring over something nice to a party or on an expense account. I saw one of their 750ml bottles listed at a mind blowing 27.99. I had bought the exact same thing at Noble Grains for 11.99 only last week.
I have no doubt a knowledgable beer purchaser can find some good stuff here for only %25 more than normal but otherwise buyer beware.

Knowledgable staff. Excellent extensive choices for such a tiny place. Enjoy nice crafts on the metro north ride back home.

Luckily, I’m not like those weirdos so I love beer and I love coming to Beer Table Pantry. Whether you’re filling a growler with some of the selections they have on tap or else looking for a bottle for a special occasion, Beer Table has you covered.
The staff members know their beers and are very helpful.
It’s a tiny location but at least you’ll be crammed in there with attractive, above average beer lovers as opposed to the riff-​raff that hangs out at wine stores like some sort of carnival side show.
This is a go-​to place for presents for my beer enthusiasts friends as you can get gift cards in just about any denomination. It would also be a good place to pick up a gift card for me, if you wanted to buy me a present or something. Just sayin’.
The beer here can be pricey but it is convenient so I’ll pay the extra buck or two for a nice bottle so I don’t have to schlep downtown or to Brooklyn.

Best beer selection to go in NYC. Great staff great recommendations great beer knowledge in general. This is place to get beer and get beer educated with styles from all over the U.S. and the world. Rare selections and great layout make this place a destination for locals and tourists alike. Cheers and enjoy!

Cute little shop, awesome gift ideas, damned fine chocolate!!! This, however, is only a gift and treat option, at least for this dude.
I’m frugal, and am all about spending good money on good product. That is the case here. The prices are just extraordinarily high, even for GCS, and especially since you can find the same brews elsewhere for much less. No fault for the mark up of location and convenience… and you can find decent price options if you hunt… but you really have to hunt.
I’ll be back, and will slowly work my way through their stock. But can’t bring myself to be a regular.

Now that that is out of the way — anyone who is a regular here is out of their fucking mind. The only, only reason to shop here would be to buy a (single) beer to drink on the train home if you’re a commuter.
Beers here are at least 25% more than at other stores, but I’ve seen them stray over 50% more at times.
I love Amy C’s (from Connecticut by the way) comment — «prices are cheap for Manhattan so anyone bitching about prices is probably a tourist». Ummmmmm… no. Prices are not cheap unless you do your beer drinking solely at 11 Madison Park. This coming from someone who lives in NYC.
But rather than state opinion. Let’s use cold hard facts.
For example. They recently tapped Barrier Gosilla, which is a 3.8% ABV Gose.
Firstly some comparative prices:
Barrier Brewing: 64oz growler at the brewery itself (common misconception — no the brewery is often not the cheapest place to buy the beer. for various reasons, breweries tend to have to charge a little more. I’ve seen Gosilla available at NYC beer stores for a dollar or two less than this) — $ 14. This equates to 21.9 cents an ounce, and for this beer, would be a pretty fair growler fill price at any NYC store.
Proletariat (a bar, and probably the most expensive beer bar in Manhattan — remember Beer Table is a STORE): 12oz pour for $ 8. 66.7 cents an ounce.
Blind Tiger (a bar): 12oz pour for $ 7. Price per ounce of 58.3 cents.
So what is Beer Table (remember, a store) charging?
For a 64oz growler — forty-​three ($ 43) fucking dollars. That is 67.2 cents an ounce, making it the most expensive place to buy the beer in the state of new york.

I have to give 5 stars because I was in a hurry. said I love beer, give me beers I can’t get on west coast. They gave me 2 beers in bottles, Rockmill Brewery’s Dubbel & Two Roads Workers Comp, then The OtherHalf beer was in a to go jar. All 3 beers were fantastic, great taste, and satisfied my thirst. Just by those recommendations, and the fact that they were super kind, quick and accommodating, gives them 5 stars. Thanks for the great beers guys! Next NYC trip I will be back!

I have a feeling that no future trip to NYC will be complete without bringing home a mix a 6 from the Beer Table Pantry.
They have a pretty well curated selection of beers that I can’t find at home in CT/​RI. There’s local NY breweries (Great South Bay & Kelso) and other great offerings from breweries like Westbrook & Crooked Stave. Beer Table even recently put out a collaboration with Evil Twin that I picked up.
If you’re looking for a growler (or pint!) to go they offer that too. Most of the beers on tap are local too which is cool. I even picked up a great root beer from Ithaca last time.
I’m only bumping up my review 1 star from my previous visit because they are still a bit pricey & the location is kinda small so it gets cramped around rush hour.

Love the selection but the prices are high. I do like the people here who are both knowledgable and friendly. Despite prices I have bought here as they have beer that is not available at home. Also sell Lidabitt sea salt caramels which are awesome.

This is a terrific place to get a few craft beers «to go» before getting on the train.
They have Sculpin IPAs in the can here! I LOVE Sculpin IPAs!
Gives you a very strong buzz.

Fine regional & imported beers in Grand Central Station. Always staffed by amiable beer experts with great suggestions to suit any weather or occasion. Sure it isn’t cheap, but it certainly is convenient.
*Although it is illegal to drink in public in NYC, they have handy paper bags to prevent undue attention from the authorities.
**Plus they have the VERY BEST $ 1 souvenir in ALL NYC!

Don’t come here if you like mass produced water masquerading as beer.
Like many craft beer enthusiasts, I have been dropping by everyday to inquire about the taps.
Finally they are available. Today there was a porter and an Belgian IPA (Barrier Mare Undarum). I bought two growlers and got a cool free tote-​carrier bag. There is a $ 5 deposit for each growler but I don’t plan on returning them.
The entrance of the business is on the east side of Grand Central (Gray Bar building side — E 43^rd Street & Lexington). The brick and mortar storefront is small and there are usually two people (a guy and a girl) but these folks know their beer and are very friendly and helpful. There are also about 70 bottled beers on the shelves and Beer Table Pantry also has chilled bottles too.
I can’t wait until all taps will be available. There are so many crappy, useless businesses in Grand Central. This is not one of them. Beer Table Pantry is a brilliant idea and a Godsend to midtown east.

Dropped by on way home last night to see how this place is doing. The keg lines are hooked up and the Growlers are ready to go. They only had one line ready for the Ithaca Flower Power. The rest should be ready soon. Should have around a half dozen going at once.
Growler bottle deposit is $ 5. The cost to fill each one up will depend on the beer. Might be in the $ 11 — $ 15 range. When you are finished with your beer just bring the growler back for a refill. Most beers need to be consumed within a day or two after opening it. If you want to hand back in the growler bottle you get your deposit back. Should be pretty cool to sample some good beers at home this way.
