I visited Bella Tile on my most recent trip to New York city. I’ve been looking for someone who can show me a good variety of ideas for my kitchen as well as someone who I feel knows what they’re talking about. At Bella Tile, you get the best of both worlds. The shop is tucked away a little, but well worth discovering… I especially enjoyed talking with Christine, who I think is the daughter of the owner and is clearly very enthusiastic about tiles and tiling. Definitely worth the visit and will be working with them on my next home project!

I was sent to this store by my contractor. While the sales lady was helpful going through the selections, when I asked for a sample to be sent to me, the problems began. After being assured that it would be sent «tomorrow», I can report that 2 ½ weeks later, I still do not have this. After one week I called and was told that they forgot to send the sample. After the second week, I was told that they sent the sample to the store rather than my home. They had gotten it four days before this call — did they send it to me then? No. Did they call me and tell me that they had it at the store? No. I asked that it be sent to me. Still don’t have it.
If t this is the «service» you get BEFORE you order, I can barely imagine what would happen after.

Kevin’s my man.
After purchasing a marble table from Sit Down NY and not properly sealing it, I found water etch marks on my beautiful new table. Insert anguishing screams of «Noooooo!!!» and ultimate buyer’s remorse.
Hours of harried and frantic researching online later, we decided to head to an expert to get advice. Kevin took the time to explain how we could strip, clean and reseal the table. We bought the materials at the store and he gave us his mother’s remedy for her granite counters, involving sarah wrap and baking soda. We’re halfway through the process now, so I can’t report on the actual condition of the table– yet. I couldn’t be more happy with the customer service and attention to detail from the folks here. Even though we weren’t tile customers, the one-on-one professional advice was invaluable.

We are re-doing our bathroom and we were looking for specific penny tiles and subway tiles. This was the third tile store we have visited for this project. We were promptly asked if we needed help by a woman name Shakera who knew where everything was, had prices memorized and had great solutions and responses to our concerns. She voluntarily gave us well-labeled samples and was generally very patient, articulate and helpful. I’m going to place the actual tile order in a couple of days and will update this review if necessary.
We both walked out of that store, like, «Wow, that was an amazing customer service experience, not just by New York City standards either.»

A great selection of tiles, but the delivery service is terrible. I asked them to order my tiles but hold them for three weeks before delivering because I was going on holiday. Of course they deliver the tiles two days later while I was away. I arrived home with multiple voicemails from my apartment staff asking when I was going to pick up my 30 boxes of tile. To add to that, curbside delivery is taken literally, meaning (as I heard from my doormen) plopped on the very very edge of the sidewalk, although they could have easily placed the boxes on a cart (that was brought out to the curb). Argh. My doormen are still complaining about this.

I am constantly trying to change the appearance of my apartment, but I’ve never been one for tiles. I must admit though, the tiles here were fantastic and really got me rethinking my anti-tile design policy.

This is the definitive place to go when you absolutely, positively must have cobalt blue tile for your home improvement project. The larger chain stores just won’t have the choice in colors or designs that Bella Tile has. Don’t even get me started on the designs — I was afraid to even begin to look at the beautiful painted tiles that had me imagining all sorts of designer scenarios in the kitchen. Very polite staff, too. A gem of a store.
