Huge NY slice. You have to stand and at it because no place to sit, but that’s part of teh fun because NYU and other assorted people are crowding by. It’s really good, like a traditional NY slice should be. Small and dirty and good.

such a good slice of coal oven mushroom mozzarella marinara my buds raved w/ohhs and ahhs of their garlic injected slices too. new yorkers have a right to turn their noses at the rest of the country as you just simply cant find better pies sits on pretty great real estate for people watching on this lively block

Was just in NYC for college tour atNYU with our daughter and forgot how good this pizza was! I probably hadn’t been by here since the 80’s, and that was probably 2AM, but it’s just like I remember! The«face» of New York pizza

Came to Ben’s literally two hours after spending $ 70 bucks at a hip neighborhood spot and left starving. By the time we got to Ben’s we were pretty drunk, so who knows how good/bad the pizza is, but it was cheap and delicious in that moment, probably one the happiest moment of my life. I kid I kid. My buddies got plain old cheese pizza, and I went with the BBQ chicken, which had a weird flavor and I regretted my choice, but what you gonna do!

My favorite drunk pizza place. Always cheesy. I would give this place 5 stars if the workers wouldnt always hit on me.

This is authentic NY Pizza!!! Great spot for a Slice. I’ve been here twice. First time I had the regular slice!!! Awesome. Second time I had the Chicken BBQ it wasn’t up to my taste I had better. So after reading all the reviews I saw the Grandma was the pizza everyone was Unilocaling about so I got one. I have to say it is out of this world. So the Grandma or Plain is the way to Go!

Had better. Hawaiian pizza had globs of ricotta. Gross. Also was expensive and tables were not clean.

Ben’s pizzeria is my go to spot. I love the variety they have here, as opposed to Artichoke down the street. Get the Grandma slice! It’s amazing and you will not regret it. I also recommend the everything pizza, baked ziti, and the classic flavors. A slice here isn’t necessarily cheap, but it’s better than dollar pizza. The service is good too. The people working are friendly and they gave me free garlic knots once too. Good times.

Bens pizza NY Manhattan Greenwich Village 4pm Sunday 1st November 2015 Three Stars There’s nothing better than a drunken afternoon slice fresh out of the oven. The cheese was melted, the crust was crunchy but not very doughy. The sauce was thin without freshness or sweetness. I am sure I will pass by and try it again.

After admiring this place in the opening credits of the show Louis, I had to go before seeing a show at the comedy cellar. I’m not sure if it was because I was so hungry, or if it was due to the excitement of the whole vacation experience but I thought the pizza was delicious. Classic NY pizza– which may get some of its flavor from being slid on a paper plate across a not so clean counter top. I very much enjoyed it.

i get the grandmas slice, and the everything slice(the one with peppers, onions, mushrooms, pepperoni, and sausage). the staff is very friendly. i usually go after a night of clubbing, and around that time the homeless come out to play. make sure you eat in groups of 2 or more

Um… maybe I wasn’t drunk enough? Or maybe I should have been more adventurous and ordered something beyond a pepperoni slice. Want a quick slice late night between stops, I guess this place works. But the pizza was just okay. I ended up handing over my slice to a friend to finish. But two slices and a drink for $ 7? You can’t really complain!

The pizza is okay, nothing out of this world, but certainly not bad. It’s worth checking out as it is one of the more famous pizza places in the area — get a picture of yourself in front of the sign like the opening credits of Louie. Louis CK is known to come here regularly, but you’d have to hang out a lot to see him. For a more unique and memorable pizza experience in the area, I would recommend just going a few doors down to Artichoke Pizza.

Great pizza place. I like to stick to plain cheese. We buy it every week for a club I’m in and the guys are always super nice and friendly. Definitely better in the pies than by the slice, and the garlic knots are awesome.

The pizza here is edible and the baked ziti pizza is even good. The restaurant is small and cash only. If it is not terrible outside, walk to Washington Square Park to enjoy you pizza there.

Ben’s is a staple of Macdougal Street. Hot, coal oven pizza available late at night. Perfect for soaking up(or preparing to soak up) large amounts of booze. It’s pricier that you’d expect, seating is very limited, and it’s pretty filthy… but they make a fine slice: crisp crust, cheesy but not dripping with grease, and the toppings packing some serious bite. It’s among the best in the Village, though the restaurant itself isn’t the kind of place you’ll want to linger for too long. Wolf down that scorching hot slice and move along.

A decent pizza option on a late night crawl for those coming out of the bars and clubs in the West Village. The portion size of their Grand Ma slice is very generous and it taste good too.

Best pizza in the village… maybe in the city! Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself. I GUARANTEE you will NOT be disappointed! :)

Right up there in my top 5 pizza places, I want to come back again and try one more time to ensure consistency. Venue(4⁄5) Opens late night, plenty of seating Food:(4⁄5) My pepperoni slice had a great crisp to it. Not too thin where if you wait too long the pizza gets soggy. Service(5⁄5) The staff was great and friendly

On the outside Ben’s looks like any regular pizza joint in the city. Mexican dudes laughing in the back, delivery guys running in and out, and plenty of college aged patrons with booze breath are here getting their pizza fix. It almost doesn’t feel like the West Village, but even MacDougal needs a pizzeria not named Artichoke( ). The standard pie options all apply — from buffalo chicken to Hawaiian style pizza. If Ben’s were judged solely by its cheese slice, it scores somewhere in the middle between mediocre and awesome. The same could be said about their pepperoni slice or their grandma slice. When the pizza lacks any unique qualities, it ends up tasting the same as many others. Hence, Ben’s screams average all around. West Village pricing applies. That means any specialty slice could run a cool $ 5 and one toppings are in the $ 3 – 4 range. The delivery seems pretty adequate as they’ve been good with delivery time, and the guys behind the counter are usually good with substitutions, custom pies, and keeping the pizza looking relatively together. Seating can be a challenge for groups, but roomy pizza spots are not all that common. Lastly, Louis CK loves Ben’s( ). Perhaps it’s ultra convenient given he’s in the same hood, but I’m not eye to eye on Ben’s being one of Manhattan’s greatest pizza options. Even then, I’d be happy to eat a slice or two with Mr. CK in hopes he’ll show me what they do best.
