Berson + Corrado

For the past 6 years Berson and Corrado has been extremely helpful and professional in handling my tax return and managing all my family’s assets. I highly recommend the personal interactive approach they take as opposed to getting lost on a client list at bigger firms. Having B+C handle my tax return and manage my family’s finances has made tracking all my assets a much more feasible task.

Very disappointed after years of good service. After several years with one of the partners, my account was passed over to an associate. This associate ultimately left the firm. I was audited for the first time in my life – for two years’ worth of returns done by this associate. Berson & Corrado fought the audit even after their first attempt failed. I finally pulled the plug and decided to pay the IRS what they wanted. B&C charged me $ 1500 for their failed attempt. My complaints: (1) I believe the associate’s questionable accounting practices caused the audit. (2) I don’t believe I should have been charged for the time they spent trying to correct their errors. (3) I believe that if I hadn’t pulled the plug when I did, they would have continued to rack up billable hours, and we would still have lost. At the end, they behaved unprofessionally, refusing to forward me information and documents I requested. This is a firm that seems to like a good fight, whether or not it serves your interests.

poor filers — I too found mistakes made (and not just one), communication is shoddy with them, they charge an arm and a leg, lack diversity in their investments — Stuart Berson arrogant beyond belief.

You get shuffled off to an associate, extremely slow to get calls returned– made mistakes, expensive, just awful. Curious to know other Unilocalers’ experience.
