Olga was wonderful — she worked with me to tailor a jacket so it was exactly what I wanted. I bring all my clothes here now.

Great work on my suit this week. They tailored it right to my look and specifications. They did it all in a few days as well. Really happy with the results!

Good quality work. Not too expensive. I had a jacket zipper replaced several months ago and the work is still solid! Highly recommend.

They arbitrarily set prices. This place is filthy and Olga is rude. You get what u pay for and here you get nithibg. Waste of time. Don’t do it. Rip off!!!

I cannot attest to the language barrier issue since I speak Russian, but Olga and the ladies do a superb job. I haven’t done complex alterations here, but for minor fixes they have been perfect. The job is done quickly and efficiently. Olga has always been extremely welcoming and accommodating.

Super, duper awesome. Brought in a sportcoat on ⁴⁄₄ for fixing with a 2 day turnaround. Even better was a quilted jacket I brought in the day after (⁴⁄₅) with some pretty complex and intensive work. She was able to turn it around within 24 hours and the work on both the coat and sportcoat were not only both completed by ⁴⁄₆ but also flawless! I can’t recommend this place enough. It will for sure be my go to for any tailoring I need to get done!

Can’t comment on the tailoring but the woman who just answered the phone was extremely rude and I will not be taking my items there as a result.
I was asking for a general estimate for an alteration on a bridesmaid dress — merely a quick range to make sure they have reasonable prices before lugging the dress all the way from Brooklyn on the train. The woman on the phone literally told me she couldn’t and wouldn’t talk to me and then hung up on me. The fact that they can’t say «depending on difficulty, dress alterations are usually from $ 80 — $ 200» or similar leads me to believe they don’t have a set price list and will likely price gouge/​overestimate the work needed to complete the job.
Too bad, I had several other dresses and items to have tailored and would’ve likely been a repeat customer but I have no time for poor customer service when there are so many other tailoring options in NYC.

This place is the BEST. I took my wedding dress here for it to be tailored. Im MORE than satisfied. Olga is the best. Service is super fast, very affordable, despite what you would expect of such a neat and well located place. They steamed my moms dress and my dads suit as well! I’m BEYOND grateful!

Olga is great to work with! She is very welcoming; some might feel a little uncomfortable with the language barrier. However, her work speaks volumes.
I left my wedding dress with her; I had purchased it from China.
My dress needed to be taken in in a few places. It also had sown in cups, which were much to big for my size.
Upon the first visit, I showed her where I wanted changes to be done and she pinned everything for me to see.
She has a price list hanging up on the wall by her desk; and broke down what everything will cost. To my amazement; $ 120. (Why I am so amazed is because that same day I brought my dress to a different shop, which not only gave me an estimate of $ 850, but told me she wont work on my dress until January because it was to early; that should not be up to her but me.)
I came in to try on the dress with the initial changes and it turned out great! I still wanted the cups to be a little smaller. She said no problem, we measured again, gave me a date to return, no additional cost.
My, what could have been a china order nightmare, has turned into a wedding dress dream come true.

I decided to try out Best Stitch Tailoring based on their reviews. The entire experience ended up being a big disappointment. I purchased some jeans while visiting NYC and needed them taken in at the waist. My first impression upon arriving was uninviting. I sat down on a hard metal fold up chair by the doorway and waited nearly 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged. Finally, once I was greeted, I tried on the pants in a filthy fitting room with a beach lounge chair. The only mirror in the entire shop is an old dusty mirror inside the fitting room. The fitting area doesn’t have a mirror at all. Once Olga pinned the waist, I asked for her opinion on the hem. I couldn’t tell myself since there was no mirror at all in the fitting area. Instead of answering my question with professional expertise, she rudely demanded an answer, «do you want the pants hemmed or not?»
At this point I didn’t have much time to find another place to take my jeans to. I just wanted to get them done regardless of Olga’s rude attitude and lack of customer service. Upon checkout, I asked if they accept credit cards. She pointed to a sign at the counter and said in a raised voice «CASH ONLY! SEE SIGN!»
Once the pants were ready, I had them picked up by my messenger. When my messenger arrived to pick them up, she claimed I didn’t pay and she demanded an ADDITIONAL $ 50 from the messenger. It took 10 min of going back and forth to prove that I had paid cash in full in an envelope to her.
I wish I had done more research. They have several negative reviews on the next page or two that I didn’t read earlier. My pants still need to be taken in more in the waist so my whole experience was a FAIL. Never again.

I have been using Best Stitch for long time and never had any issues. They do an awesome job on evening gowns and canvassed suits. The prices are so much cheaper than any other alterations place in Manhattan and service is consistently good! Olga is a really talented master and a wonderful human being. Those negative reviews on Unilocal are absolutely ridiculous. If person «mumbles» something in language that you don’t understand it doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s something negative! English is obviously not her native language, but it’s more than enough to communicate and have the job done. Highly reccomend!

Price was good, execution was lazy. I had some dress pants there. One had a hole, one needed a hem. They fixed the hole fine. The other pant legs were uneven. Now I have to go to another tailor to get it fixed.

These ladies are awesome! Great price, great work, and fast! Don’t be sketched out by the location– they rent a room in the building. Will definitely return.

I brought in a Carhartt jacket with about 10 different tears on its two sleeves. This jacket has a lot of sentimental value to me, so I wanted to have it fixed by someone with an eye for quality.
Olga absolutely delivered. She fix all the tears, and it looks almost as good as new. The only problem in the whole operation was that it took her one more day to repair the jacket than originally stated (2 days instead of 1). However, for the quality I received I can’t complain.

Olga does not speak the best English but I was able to get my message across easily. (I am assuming the blonde woman who greeted me when I walked in was Olga.)
Prices:
Hem a dress: $ 55 (sign on wall says up to $ 75)
Replace an invisible zipper: $ 35. They color matched the zipper to the blue of my dress, which I thought was nice.
Shorten straps: $ 15

Olga is amazing! Professional, talented and helpful –she’s creating patterns and samples for my collection at an unbeatable price and high quality. I recommend her (and this company) to anyone interested in designing or altering clothing :) A+++
