If you are looking for comfort food and want to satisfy your craving this is the place to go. It brings you back to the old 70’s style diners when I was a kid growing up. The cartoons and pictures of 70’s tv shows brings me back to my childhood days as well as the 80’s music playing in background. The food here is simple yet satisfying. The portions are pretty big and good enough to share. If you are looking for fancy eats then this is not for you. This place is just to satisfy your tot and comfort food cravings and at same time bringing you back to childhood eats. Definitely a fan of their breakfast and when in mood there Mac and cheese and tots. Don’t forget to wash it down with one of their many variety of shakes. All in all great place for groups and families.

It’s all about the tater tots here. Also check out the vintage cereal boxes on the front wall.

I keep coming back here and it never disappoints. Traditional NYC diner with an 80’s 90’s feel. Service is good and the food is always BIG portions. The price is ok, but I guess your in NYC and Park Avenue nonetheless so expect the price surge. Staff is always smiling and on point. Food quality is fresh and the booths add an extra comfort feel to your experience. I don’t see myself taking dates here, but it would probably be a fun ice breaker. I keep coming back here for a reason. And now that I moved to the neighborhood i will prob frequent more often. Always something going on at Big Daddy’s. Two thumbs up!

Came here on a Saturday around 1130. Great old fashioned diner in the heart of union square. They have 2 levels but not too much seating– I sat at the bar. Of course, got the bacon, egg, cheese and hashbrowns on a waffle(Bow wow wow). Sprinkled some syrup on that and split fries and tots with my friend… AMAZING. This meal is big enough to share and they have TONS of milkshake flavors(pancake, cotton candy, black and white cookie, etc.) and even some with alcohol. Service sucked and drinks are pretty expensive but a good spot to have… always need a good diner in the big city. Also, they have coloring sheets for the kiddies and my friend and I got because why not.

Oh my god. I’ve been looking for a spot like this in NYC for quite some time(that’s actually good) I love Big Daddy’s! They have amazing breakfast. I really recommend the Bow Wow Wow. They have really good shakes and floats too. Go in and see for yourself! The décor is very suitable and their servers are friendly. Huge huge portions and there have all you can drink cocktails for 15 dollars!(Mimosas/Bloody Mary’s, Etc) They also have special deals on special days of the week(i.e. Waffle Wednesday’s)

Solid diner food to equalize the alcohol in your bloodstream. I’ve had the chicken and waffles which was very tasty. The chicken was super crispy and there was plenty of it. The waffle was good, although very sweet with a good amount of vanilla in the batter. The atmosphere is throwback 80’s. They have boozy milkshakes, in case you don’t want to equalize your blood alcohol content level.

Visited on January 31st for a friends birthday and let me say that the experience was not that pleasant. We came here with a reservation and high hopes that this place would be amazing; I mean look at the decoration and style of the diner. It looks super bubbly and amazing! But everything went downhill from the moment we met our waiter. He looked absolutely miserable and seemed like he was forced to smile on gunpoint. Maybe it was 6:30pm and he was having a bad day but his aura surely did not match the diner. We ordered four shakes(one in a to go cup), three burgers, one chicken tenders, large Mac and cheese, and Mozzerella sticks because we heard it was a must have. Long story short, we never got our Mozzarella sticks and I’m not sure if they still charged it onto the bill. We got our food in a timely manner but we never saw our waiter again. Maybe Big Daddy’s diner just doesn’t check up on their customers but our party of four felt like the waiter completely ignored us when we tried to flag him down, especially when we were trying to get dessert and the check. We never got dessert because after the thirty minute wait just to attempt to order, we just wanted to leave. The food was great but I couldn’t finish my burger and fries since I had the Mac and cheese. The burger was untouched and we asked for it to be taken out. We boxed it ourselves and forgot it on the table and left after we paid. We crossed the block and immediately realized the missing food and called them. The same waiter picked up and rudely said«I threw it out.» I understand that it was my stupid mistake but the way he said it had me question how they hire their staff. I wouldn’t have minded the uneaten meal thrown out but the service we received wasn’t that great so it was just upsetting.

I LOOOOVE Big Daddy’s. Gramercy is in Guam for me. I came here for a trivia night. It’s far too touristy and way too social for this old fart. I frequent the Big Daddy’s on UWS. So much more my speed. But good eats, drinks and shakes. Can’t go wrong w/Big Daddy’s.

I have the biggest sweet tooth in the world so I never thought I would say this, but everything I ordered was, dare I say it, too sweet. The menu was overwhelming so I went straight for the Oreo pancakes because I’m a huge Oreo fan, and then opted for the pancake milkshake, which was recommended to me. I prefer the thickness of a shake shack milkshake. I also thought the Oreos would be baked inside the pancake the way that chocolate chips are baked inside a pancake. This was not so. DONTORDERTHEOREOPANCAKESYOUWILLBEDISAPPOINTED. What you will get are four large thin but fluffy pancakes with some Oreos sprinkled over the top. I got sunny side down eggs on top which was the best part of that but with the syrup they were also too sweet. Which is saying A LOT coming from me. We also ordered the monkey bread to start which was by far the best bar of the entire meal. So moist. So soft. Melted cinnamon strussel and sugar on the top and pulled apart like butter. My mouth waters thinking about it. The where is bob? sandwich us unreal! Eggs cheese bacon hash brown in one sandwich. Need I say more? Oh and crispy tater tots. Overall,!It was so good that I didn’t just eat my meal. Ate half of the other persons meal I was with! I want to return to try more of the savory options.

Food amazing! Service Bad! I’ve been to Big Daddy’s twice in two weeks. What I did not like the first time was that we were three people and they sat us on a table for two and they sat parties of two on booths. Plus we were there first. The second time we visited Big Daddy’s was even worse. No water refills, I ordered a Coce and I had to remind them about it after my food arrived and the worse part is that when we ordered burgers they told us that they were out of brioche buns and they were serving the burgers in regular white bread. Very disappointed with the service.

This place is one of my favorite diners in New York its constantly and consistently delicious although the menu somewhat changes frequently. Theyre also one of the few places in New York that stays open pretty late in terms of diner food. A-. I do recommend this place

Service was terrible… over a 35 min to get pancakes(only 4 other tables) & to say they didn’t have alcohol. Service, terrible, never asked how the meal was/checked on us(walked by many times). Food, okay(burger had no flavor). Then I was charged for a margarita, had to go back to have the charge refunded. The cc machine was down(although they were using it to ring folks up)…the waiter said he didn’t charge me for an iced tea– so, overcharged me tea & gave me back $ 8, cash– keeping his tip from the overcharged amount. Your mistake, you eat that– but to then overcharge for tea & keep a 40% tip(off the corrected amount) — outrageous. A place for tourists or folks who don’t want good quality– food or service. Check your bill– very dishonest.

When you’re in the mood for kitsch and sugar, Big Daddy’s is the place. Milkshakes and pancakes and nachos, oh my, and the usual beer selection. Went in today with a friend and were served by Jacquali, who was nice and surprisingly prompt(Sunday brunch crowd, place was slammed). Looks like the tofu scrambles is off the menu — bummed about that, it was Nom! — and monkey bread was 86’ed, so I nommed their Get Smart omelet with sweet potater tots. The food itself is not really the reason to come here, but it’s not bad either — pretty standard diner food with a sweet-tooth slant. Everything’s a few bucks more expensive than you’d find at a standard diner, but you’re also on Park Ave next to a giant mural of all your favorite childhood cartoon shows. Pancakes are solid, veggie chilli will warm you up, did I mention shakes? They’re probably my favorite part about Big Daddy’s. That and the old school cereal box collection. And the music — you just can’t go wrong with 70s-80s pop rock. Or, you can go so wrong and that’s just so right.

I love this place! And so will you. I eat here whenever I want a really good burger. I usually get the Big Daddy burger which is always amazing. It’s juicy, never dry and I have a big appetite and this always satisfies me. Their fries and totts are very good especially loaded. I’m not crazy about their onion rings and boy am I a sucker for good onion rings but these are small beer battered and they don’t give you many so stick with fries or totts. The milk shakes are to die for! And the atmosphere is great! I brought family visiting from out of town and they loved it. Once you try you will be hooked ;)

I’ve been to Big Daddy’s a few times now and have enjoyed my experiences here. My friend and I came here recently on a Sunday afternoon, where it was quite crowded but the wait time was only 10 – 15 minutes… Not too bad. The booth seating is pretty nice and comfortable and I like the open air/space of the restaurant. Big Daddy’s has a wide variety of unique shakes. Previously, I have tried the Bacon Milky Way(bacon with chocolate and caramel), which was a bit too interesting for me… There was too much bacon and it tasted weird in shake form, but they allowed me to pick a different shake so I chose the Pancake Shake(pancakes with vanilla and maple syrup), which I liked much more, though it was very sweet. This time around, I had the Birthday Cake Shake, which is fitting because my birthday is in the month of December. I enjoyed it… There were actual pieces of confetti cake in it and colorful sprinkles, along with whipped cream on top. Quite delectable! Next time I want to get the Chocolate Cherry Shake. As for the entrée, I chose the Chicken-lickin Sandy, which was actually pretty finger-licking delicious! The sandwich consisted of grilled marinated chicken, bacon, melted cheese(I asked for cheddar to replace the jalapeño jack), caramelized onions, lettuce, tomato and herb mayo on toasted ciabatta bread. Are you drooling yet? Oh, and yes that came with tater tots(or french fries). The chicken was full of flavor, the bacon extremely crispy and tasty, the mayo had tons of great seasoning and all the rest of the ingredients worked perfectly to create a wonderful sandwich. The tater tots were great as well, crisped to perfection with a hearty potato-y taste. And there was A LOT on the plate. It made me quite full and I had to take half home with me. I think the pricing is a bit high, especially for a diner but luckily I had my Diner’s Deck card for $ 10 off. Service was good. The servers were very friendly and upbeat.

One of the worst dinning experiences ever… Service was terrible, food was bland, restaurant was dirty. I cannot tell you how bad the service was! Our waitress was clearly unhappy to be there, she was rude and inattentive. I even tried calling her over by making clear eye contact and she completely averted her eyes and walked in a different direction. It took us 2HOURS to get our food! She didn’t even address it or discount it. She merely said sorry, it’s busy. I get that restaurants get busy but it was not that bad and 2 hours is unacceptable. The food was bland, my tater tots came out cold and undercooked! Literally one of the worst dinning experiences of our lives. Avoid! I get an ulcer just thinking about it!

Such a cool and yummy place! Came here for lunch and there was a huge line but they were very helpful and we were able to sit down pretty quickly. We ordered the buffalo chicken tenders which were so good and had a lot of buffalo sauce on them which was great. Then we got the burger with mac and cheese on it and the tater tots. YUM. Lastly we got the birthday cake milkshake — it was good but very sweet. If i go back ill stick to a plain vanilla or the cookies and cream. The place was also decorated super cool like an old fashioned diner. Definitely recommend!

Great breakfast, old school diner ambience & great service! On the small outside storefront it looked divey and my boyfriend walked right in because he was hangry and I groaned to myslef… oh no… greasy spoon crappy food… it turned out to be great! 2 eggs over easy, bacon & a side fresh mixed green salad for me… yum & perfect! Bf got What About Bob which was huge and filling… the bun is actually ciabbata which was nice & unexpected! I kept eating his deelish crispy tator tots! Also great was the hot toasted 7 grain bread I got with my eggs. I buttered that baby up. The Hangover Helper smoothie with berries was so good! Sweet & refreshing, but not too sweet… I don’t like overly sweet things. Served in a nice tall milkshake style glass with strawberry and orange garnish :) $ 15 unlimited screwdrivers, mimosas(which is what I got and thank you Big Daddys staff for making it with more bubbly then OJ!!!) & bloody marys for 2 hrs was great. I was feeling nice after 3! Available all day too! Halloween décor was fun and I appreciated that each table provided trivia cards. There’s a 2nd floor and while most tables seat 2 – 4 there was one big round table/booth in the back for about 8. Upbeat music in the background

Big Daddy’s is your classic, old-school diner with colorful and welcoming interior/exterior. This location is just a couple steps from Union Square Park — a great place to satiate your hunger late at night or early in the morning… or anytime of the day because the PORTIONSIZESAREHUGE! I came to Big Daddy’s with two other friends for a late dinner(not for a «drunk» food, but for a real meal). Big Daddy’s serves breakfast all day. I got the Magic School Bus Breakfast smoothie, which is made with bananas and strawberries and blended with low-fat yogurt. The smoothie was pretty smooth, and I could taste all the fresh ingredients without any artificial flavors or additives. I got the Alexander the Greek($ 15), which is served in a big bowl with mixed greens, grilled herb chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, fire roasted red peppers, grilled zucchini, sweet onions, olives, feta cheese, peperoncini, and crispy pita chips tossed in herb vinaigrette. I liked all the toppings and they balanced well. The crispy pita chips were delicious when dipped in the vinaigrette. My friends had the Super Hot Malted Waffles($ 14) with wildberry compote and whipped cream, and the Daddy-O-Burger($ 14) with jalapeño jack, thick cut bacon, and crispy onion rings. The waffles could probably feed two people. It had four ½ slices(or two full-sized waffles) of waffles topped with berry compote(blueberries and strawberries) with whipped cream on the side. They are a bit skimp on the toppings. The waffles are topped with a bit of powdered sugar. Nothing too special about the taste(it tastes just like waffles…), but great quantity for the price. The burger should come with a heart attack warning. In addition to the regular beef patty, lettuce, and tomato, Daddy-O-Burger is topped with three HUGE onion rings and thick-cut bacon. This burger, like the waffles, is HUGE. You also get fries and cole slaw on the side.
