I often don’t give karaōke places a bad rating, but this one unfortunately deserves one. Rude staff. Rude bartenders. Terrible selection. 2 stars for their location.

This place is so much fun. Decent song selection. Bartender was generous with the drink pours. Made for a great night. Will definitely be back.

Biny! This is a little secret karaōke spot for people in the know. I haven’t been to many spots in Ny, but I must say I like Binys setup the best. You can choose to be out in the open with booths and tables that have tabletop digital karaōke screens or you cam get a private room. Ive only done the out in the open and both times were really fun. The screen is huuuge and you get to dance and sing like youbwere on stage. The sound is great and unlike Japas, you can actually hear yourself singing. There are pitfalls, as per every karaōke spot, like the song selection is hit or miss sometimes. The good part about how the search goes for songs is that you find artists you weren’t thinking of and decide to perform their work instead! The food is so so, although the fries are good. I will say the first time I came here I had fries and the next day me and a few other people who had the fries were super sick. I mean… near the bathroom all day sick. So you might want to be careful. Other than that, the drinks are good and affordable(I had tea the last time, but was convinced to try their hot toddy, which was really good). We will be back!

This place is really out of the way of most places but definitely worth the visit. They have a great«buy two bottles get one free bottle» deal that also includes free karaōke the whole night. That’s a huge bargain in comparison to what u would pay at other karaōke bar. Seriously do the math if u don’t believe me! The staff is really friendly and helpful. My only problem is the computerized karaōke input system that it has(and every other karaōke place). I miss the old days when I could just search my songs through a massive book and input the number. The golden age sigh

They have the best public area Karoke setup in all of New York featuring a nice clean public area setup for a few groups of people, each with their own Karaōke station. There are private rooms as well The snacks e. g: Fries, Chicken Wings are pretty descent and of course for a bar/lounge, the price is on par with other bars. Its a great place to have fun especially for those of us who enjoy Karaōke. This place has been to different management so their way of doing things may be different. If you’re not ordering more drinks even though you spent over $ 100, the manager just might kick you out.

So this review is actually for about a month ago. We went the Friday before labor day… expecting a low-key kind of night. Now, granted, we were the first to arrive… but once we took a look at the song selection(and their high techie video screens) we knew it was going to be a long night. Ok, so plusses:(1) staff was very cool(2) you can get pitchers of drinks — our drink of choice was makers and ginger ale(3) I believe the rule for the main room is that you don’t have to pay for songs, so long as you’re drinking/eating. Cons: uhhhhhhhh, none. Overall, we had a great time. But I should take this opportunity to apologize to the staff — we were really drunk, and really loud, and I’m sure you were sick of hearing«I’m on a boat» by the time it came on for the 3rd time. ;) Def check this spot out!

I’ve been going to this place since it first opened. Always fun, always an attentive staff and always great prices. After my travels for the past 4 years, I’ve been MIA from my old haunts. So it’s been my mission to revisit my favorite NYC spots. Recently I held a 1YEARANNIVERSARY party for my t-shirt brand FRESH N’ CRISP™, and Fernando the manager really took care of me and my guests, especially when we got more than the anticipated number of guests. We really filled up the place. His staff was amazing, the snacks are delicious, and the drink prices were absolutely phenomenal. We had a blast, and I am so happy BINY is still around, you jut can’t find places like this in NYC. I would give BINY5 stars if it weren’t for Two important factors… And these are a plea to make the place better. 1.) keep the sushi bar open later, it shut down so fast. 2.) please get MORE mics, we had to share two mics with the entire place. Eventually my whole group took over, so it wasn’t too bad. Overall A+ service and experience!!!

This place is hilarious!!! Definitely coming back, maybe with a group of friends or on a Friday night after work with the work crew! I was dying of laughter after stumbling in on a group chilling in the main room(private rooms available too) singing their drunken hearts out to some of the most classic jams ever!!! Awesome selection of music! Awesome appetizers(those chicken wings!!! Say wwahh!!!) Awesome drinks, nice and strong!(everything was priced either below or 10 bucks exactly) and for larger groups you’ve got bottle service and pitchers to choose from! Over all a dope night with a very down to earth crowd; props to the guy who pulled out the weed and smoked it right in the middle of the room! Come here if you’re not a complicated human! It’s not fancy at all, so don’t bring someone wack here on a first date because he/she will never talk to you again!

Perfect for a company outing. They had their own sushi bar and you can sing live. I like the bartender because he gave me 2 shots for free or maybe he was just too lazy to ring up the charge not sure which one it is. There wasn’t that much people so I couldn’t say if the service was good or not since they only catered to my party. The drinks are cheap, but I didn’t find the drinks that strong. It was hard to navigate the song list. I wish they had pictures to go along with the artist, but they do have a large selection which you can pick from the screen. I didn’t get a chance to eat their sushi, but I did have their chicken wings. It wasn’t that special, but when you have a few drinks in you and you’re hungry anything would taste good. FYI — they are close to the ace trains, it was literally right next to their door.(***)

A visit during prime Friday night singing hours found the main floor area of Biny rather dead, sporting only a table of ten whose vocal shortcomings only made the place feel more dead. Song selection is atrocious and primitive, strangely reminiscent of a 1970’s Atari interface. A numpad at each table permits painstaking one-by-one navigation through nationalities/gender/titles/etc. The speakers do not project singing particularly well and the wooden room tends to mostly absorb what little sound is emitted. Overall not a great vibe for a karaōke option, and rather out of the way compared to K-town/Chinatown options.

The karaōke here is pretty disappointing. No books with lists of songs or artists — one person has to man the«picking screen» in the corner of the room to take song requests. Also a lot of disturbance between the microphone and speakers, and the TV is pretty small. $ 100 minimum per hour on Saturday nights too :( I’d go to Duet 35 instead.

I am being very ambivalence about sharing this amazing location with you guys, but I think I am very generous, so here is how awesome this place is. 1. $ 24 for a prefix dinner with 3 hours karaōke. 2. A very nice space for private party 3. Delicious and affordable choice from the menu. 4. Of course they provide nice service. What is on the prefix menus 1. Miso soup or salad 2. Dumplings, shumai, gyoza, spicy tuna taco and spring rolls etc. 3. I will say choose the deluxe sashimi set for entrée. Cuz it’s a big portion and totally worth $ 24.(Check out the pictures) 4. Finnally, green tea or red bean ice cream for dessert. Sounds amazing right? And it’s only $ 24(Do I sound like the one from Progressive Ad?) For karaōke’s maniac and sushi lover this is your place. We spend$ 31 per a person included tips for 3 hours karaōke and and very decent Japanese dinner here. Only let your frds know, this is a secret spot !CALLANDASKFORTHEPRICEBEFOREYOUGO!

I’m a fan of this place because of it’s proximity to WTC, since i live in jersey city. BUTWHO doesn’t love SUSHI and SINGING! I mean that’s just the best combo and has kept me coming back. SOme of these other sushi places should start running karaōke as well. or vice a versa. The GOOD: SUSHI, HAPPY hour Drinks, SINGING, and the prices. The Could be better: The projector screen, TV position, Computer system for picking songs(NOBOOKS here), Song Selection. There are also separate rooms here but I haven’t used them before. When there are a bunch of people here, the songs rotate from each computer. So that you’re not hearing 10 songs from the same person which is great. The computer system is not the easiest to navigate. the projector screen is not the clearest, it’s a bit faint to read off of. I much prefer the TVs overhead but they are in awkward positions. This place is right next to the ACE subway stop which makes it a easy commute. They have happy hour with half price drinks and their sushi rolls are pretty cheap as well. Their drinks are really tasty too. The place normally has one or two other patrons but besides that it’s mostly empty for you to sing your hearts content.

This review is only for the times that I have sat in the general area near the bar outside the private rooms: The feel of this place really depends on who is there at the time. If there are horrible singers who are too drunk to realize how ear-piercing they sound, well, it makes for a horrible night. Food: not that great, honestly. Fries were too salty and chicken wings… blah. Drinks: fairly priced! Service: only responsive if you raise your hands. The sound system is not the best. Microphones don’t capture voices as well as other venues that I’ve been to.

A curiously placed karaōke joint that seems like it’s been put in the wrong place. But what the hell, sometimes the bastard son turns out to be one of the coolest characters evar(I’m looking at you, John Snow). Game of Thrones references aside, this karaōke lounge is so worth keeping in your back pocket. In the event those crazy Azns take over the K-town joints, or if you don’t have the Kanji skills to decipher some of the Chinatown devices, Biny(Best In New York, apparently) is a great sixth man to take off your bench. Basketball references aside, the song selection device, though a bit daunting to use at first, is extremely user friendly. It’s not like your K-town alphabetical book for artists/song lists, rather they use a computer menu(kinda like the Chinatown ones, but a bit more organized and less Azn-ified, IMO). So the song list might not include Don’t Stop Believing, to the chagrin of some in my party. But trust me, you’ll find something you like. The song selection is pretty huge, and they got new hits and old faves. And a lot of songs come with the music video, if you enjoy watching R-Kelly lip synch to your rendition of Ignition. Whether you get a private room or sing in the open area(free singing, just get in line), give this place a shot. It may become your favorite karaōke joint. I can say it’s my favorite weird-location-karaōke spot… easily.

I don’t know what it is about Biny’s but my friends and I always find ourselves back here time and time again. Maybe it’s because it’s the only one in the area? The drinks aren’t particularly amazing, prices aren’t exceptionally cheap or expensive… but the staff here is very friendly and patient(drunk friends can sometimes be demanding)! All and all it is a pretty standard karaōke bar. As much as we whine about trying some place new, we always end up here at some part of the night. Every time we come here it ends up into some sort of drunken fest. So through the tears or drunk drama and many songs that might unfold over the course of the night, most of us leave happy and there is always an entertaining story that comes from going to Biny’s! We’ll be back soon for another set of songs!

As my cuz Jeff C said it, FOBulous indeed. But of course, that makes it infinitely more fun. This place gets 3 starts because 1) I don’t love karaōke, in fact, I sort of hate it but am forced to go to it when it’s people’s birthdays, 2) The food is… decent, and 3) the space is a little 1970s(clean, but the lack of décor makes it look a little depressing)… plus for karaōke fans, you will NEVER figure out how to use the dang machines. Came here for my bestie’s birthday, we have around 15 ish people? I think during the weekdays, they have a special 3 course menu, which is $ 20 per person(not including tip, which they add). Drinks are not included but there are specials. such as 2 for 1 beers before 8pm. My friend made a rez for a private room and had to put down her credit card. Not sure how far in advance she did it but the place was not crowded. maybe 2 – 3 other groups of people at the bar. just signing away in front for all to see(they have two small TVs outside and one big protector) Private room karaōke: As stated, most confusing machines ever on how to select songs. You can’t really easily chose one without going through their entire roster, A-Z. But, they do have lots of languages– I think Chinese and English(maybe not even Japanese, not sure. oh the irony since it’s a Japanese resto, but I am not surprised). They have two small TVs for you to follow along and 3 tables. Down points because they didn’t have Def Leopard.(No Pour Some Sugar on Me :() But they had the good old stuff like MJ and new stuff like Adele/Britney. As Asian places would have it, not all of them have the real videos but some unintentionally funny/depressing ones of K-drama looking people. Food: They had quite a menu to choose from, esp for the mains. We all got: miso soup. Not the best miso soup– from the package with random pieces of fried bread(ee ja que… sorry can’t spell, that’s how we say it in Mandarin)… pretty watery(and Chinese) Then I got: 1) House Japanese salad with ginger carrot dressing– I’ve had better dressing, and veggies were a bit meh in freshness, but not bad. You could have chosen seaweed salad. 2) Kitchen sampler– Ok I did NOT realize this was going to be deep fried gyoza, spring rolls, and shumai. You need to ask for steamed. Otherwise, tasted fine. maybe frozen or fresh. can’t really talk. I didn’t eat the spring rolls to save myself calories– plus these were the worst. Came with some edamame, which wasn’t the best– it was soggy. You could have had the sushi/sashimi app. 3) Sushi/sashimi combo– this took longer to come out then everyone else’s main dish. It a tuna roll, standard pieces of sushi and sashimi. I liked the sashimi the best; it was actually pretty fresh – salmon, yellow tail and tuna among others. This is the way to go I think because the other dishes looked so heavy: from the meat teriyakis, to tempura, to katsu don. 4) Red bean ice cream– standard and good. You could have gotten green tea. Service– was fine. Fine as could be given our poor waiter was in the midst of our karaōke craziness. Slow at times and a bit disorganized but hey that’s Chinese people for you. It was really fine– the guys in front(at the bar) were very willing and happy to provide change to breakdown your 20s. All in all, a good deal for the amount of food you get. Was it the best? No. Was the karaōke experience the best? No, but altogether, this wasn’t a bad place to go at all– and bonus… there are not many karaōke places in this area, tucked away in the South Village(yes, you don’t need to trek to K town or St Marks if you live in the WV/Soho)

Biny is a low key, random karaōke spot in Tribeca at the edge of Chinatown. What goes on there might not be low key, however. Parties fill their many karaōke rooms, and there is a communal area with a bar(we took advantage of a room and belted into the night). Besides tons of liquor(we might have gotten bottles and shots and more bottles and shots), there are food options(we also took advantage of this). Hospitable staff(no, we didn’t take advantage of them). It’s not the shiniest of spots, but it’s reasonably-priced. In danger of leaving Biny in a-tumble? Don’t worry, taxis frequent the area.
